  1. Here's another one. http://gunlawspetition.com/petition/ Senator Maziarz has one going too but I couldn't get the link to work here. You can find it on his web page. Sorry, I think the rest I have signed have been mentioned here at some point. Keep fighting! -Tank
  2. Shorthanded, I hear ya! Sign EVERY petition you come across (I have signed 8 in the past week). Support the NRA and SCI..they do a TON for hunters and gun owners rights. VOTE, VOTE, VOTE...I have always voted and it doesnt always end up how I want BUT it matters and we CAN make a difference. We as sporstmen/gun owners HAVE to stick together. WE put these people in office, we have to make it KNOWN that WE are the people..not just them. If I hadn't heard about it too late I would have been at the rally at the capitol last week too! We HAVE to make our voices heard..period! -Tank
  3. Phenomenal Buck! Thanks for posting! What was the date of kill? Thanks, Tank

  8. After having a shooter within 40 yards (no shot) on Saturday night and deer all over me I couldn't wait to get in the stand Sunday morning and the Lord's day did not disappoint. At 8am I had a small buck interacting with a female fawn that for all intents and purposes seemed to be in estrus. They would use my area as their playground for about an hour until the buck got a litttle too far to my left and winded me. No big deal but I did contemplate killing him at one point as the whole family was up with me and the kids wanted to see a buck down. Any way after battling frigid temps for the next hour I also contemplated leaving but opted to stand up and stretch to keep warm. Not 5 minutes after I stood up I see a beautiful buck to my right about 120 yards on an angle towards the thick stuff 50 yards in front of me. He approached my area and I could see he wasn't coming in so I let out two solid grunts with my Primos buck roar, followed by an estrus doe call (the can). He angled in front of me and walked east, I let out two more grunts and he started to walk away so I quickly snort weezed at him. For the next ten minutes he would RAKE every sappling he could find within 50 yards of my stand with no shots but working his way closer to me the whole time. As luck would have it a 2.5 yr old 8 showed up to the east and came on a little quicker line to me out to 30 yards. That was all my buck needed as he followed the smaller 8 down to an apple tree 30 yards from my stand. They both turned back east and that was my opportunity. Just before he cleared the apple tree I drew my bow and had a 7 foot natural opening which he was nearing the end of as I reached full draw. I let out a loud "maaa" and he came to a dead stop as I settled my 30 yard pin on him. I released the arrow and could see the double lung hit. He bolted and crashed out of the area. I tracked him with light snow on the ground which was helpful and fun. The rest is history and I would take my biggest bow buck to date. My kids were psyched and participated in all aspects of the aftermath once I got him back to camp (too many to take into the field and it was very cold today in Prattsburgh). Here's some pics. Good hunting and thanks for looking. Tank I thought I would share this.....Last Saturday the 3rd I set up my brand new Plotwatcher Pro game surveilance system (seen it?). Well per the above I shot this buck on Sunday the 4th at 9:30 am. I left the Plotwatcher out for the week I was gone and ran up to Camp this past Saturday to pull the SD card and move the camera into my shotgun stand area. When I reviewed the footage it showed me leaving the camera at 12:05pm on Saturday the 3rd. By 12:54 guess who was on it..yep..the BUCK I shot the next day! He spent 2.5 hours in front of the camera from 12:54 until around 3:30. He freshened a scrape, put his sent on many overhanging branches and raked a bunch of trees as well as bedded in view of the camera for about 2 hrs. There may very well have been a doe out of sight of the camera that he was with but I am not sure. it was amazing to watch him in time lapse especially AFTER shooting him! Over the 7.5 days the camera was out I captured two fleeting shots of running deer, two large groups of does and fawns, several individual deer including does, bucks and even another shooter! This camera is awesome in my opinion and relatively economical..just under $300.00 for camera and 4 accessories I purchased with it (lock box, python lock and 2 SD cards). It only operates during daylight hours and you can set the images to be taken from every one second to every 60 minutes. I realize now what a hot midday stand site this location will be now as multiple bucks were captured in images between 12:30 and 1:30pm. 8 aa batteries are supposed to last for 4 months and from what I have seen now they will. The software it comes with is sick and very easy to install and use! Dont be confused with the plotwatcher as it is an earlier version and they made multiple improvements with the PRO version. If you havent seen it check it out. I have no affiliation with the company "Day 6 Outdoors" who makes it but I do plan on sending them an email telling them how awesome I find their product. Tank
  9. Is the proposed youth hunt a Doe only hunt? Thanks, Tank
  10. Nice report and pics, I have been fishing solo quite a bit as well. Another similarity is my NBK Spin Doctor has been on fire too..with an Attomik Pro Am Glow behind it! Great job! Tank
  11. Thanks guys and yes bummed I couldn't get better pics. One took a glow mirage behind a dalmation spinny on the wire and the other took a chartreuse splatter fly behind a green dot/wht spinny (looks like an exact match to the paddle) off the rigger. Tight lines, Tank
  12. Hey Ray, four words that make a WORLD of difference while fishing alone on the big boat...AUTO PILOT and CALM WATER. I can do all of it no problem with a chop too but the calm water helps. Auto pilot is a must in my opinion. I will say though you still have to steer on occasion in the shallows but it can still be a good thing. I hit the first fish in 102 on a SSE heading. By the time I got that fish in I was in 92 feet and the rigger fired with the second fish. All NO problem as the deepest rod was at 87ft down. I extend my net and fill my revival cooler ahead of time and have them close and ready to go. Netting can be tricky but not bad. I will also say that I historically have beginners on my boat so I am used to being the only experienced one on the boat. Not always but most of the time. If you want any more speciffics let me know and BE SAFE! Tight lines, Tank
  13. It doesnt get much better than this for me. Took a quick evening trip solo Tues night and landed these two Kings back to back. 27# and 30# on digital scale. Got the first fish in (on wire) and the second rod fired! Incredible time! They both took spin docs with attomiks, one on 180 wire the other on 82 rigger over 92/102. Thanks for looking. Tank
  14. Nice fish! Do you have down temp? If so what was it? Thanks, Tank
  15. I had similar results Tues am on a short trip (till 9:30). Found 72 degrees on the bottom in 80 ft. so we headed North. Boated a bunch of low teen kings and some nice steelies. I did have 2 majors on..one dropped at the back of the boat and one that destoyed a 75# swivel and took my fly and leader with him! The first major was in 300 and the second in 450ft. I hope to get out with the kids tomorrow am. Tank
  16. Like Yankee said, short and sweet. Great Job guys! FUN event and some of the BEST fishing in the world in our back yards! Great to talk to everyone at the weigh in! Tank
  17. Hey Scott, Team Trout-N-About is in! Just paid via paypal. Thanks, Tank
  18. Facebook. Cool pic, maybe he'll post. Tank
  19. Great fish and report Jeremy! I like the new boat name! Tank
  20. Thanks guys, I was very impressed with this fish...rarely have I had a Steelhead fill my large revival cooler! if only 8 hours later he would not be swimming(LOC). Incredible fight with at least 10 jumps! Bandrus1, he took a mag stinger glow gator off 8 colors of leadcore. I would have answered sooner but my hard drive fried and I jut replaced it. Tank
  21. Caught this slob tonight off of Sandy..scale was bouncing between 17 and 18#"s...released and he bolted so he's still out there! Tank
  22. Had a great day out of Sandy today and this meatball came to play...strange..anyone seen before? The finger was an accident and the fish weighed about 12#'s. Tank
  23. Lakebound, here's a little more incentive for ya...a pic of my boat which is essentially yours...and Tuesday night's best. Good luck with your venture! Tank Beast!
