Got set up at 3:00 pm with good temp and good marks and bait inside. Pulled these 2 good kings, 2 smaller kings, a laker and a brown by 6pm(wasted 45 minutes going too far west). Fish came 68-90 ft down on mag wart frog, nbk and purple pounder. The one wire fish(2nd pic) was 280 out on a 2 with grn hologram spinny and the SUPER SWEET looking A-TOM-MIK pro am fly! At 6pm after doubling up and re-setting(on autopilot) I grabbed the wheel to turn and realized the steering was seriously limp . After playing with it for a minute I realized I was not going to be able to continue the productive trip and called on a GREAT friend, Capt. Jason Franz of Trout-N-About. Jay was getting ready for dinner with his wife and parents but immediately dropped what he was doing to tow me in. He showed up with hid dad and Capt. Jerry Felluca of Rebel. I got razzed a little and we were on our way in. Cable and internal components were working so now the boat is on the trailer( ) awaiting a more thorough inspection from Tom Barbera(thanks Tom!). Although I am bummed at the boat being out of comission for a while I could not have asked for a better rescue! Thanks so much to Jay, his dad, Jerry and my brother Jon for getting there so quick with the trailer!! Much appreciated guys!!

Hey guys, Last week on a 6 hour trip I had to re-tie all rigger rod leaders twice due to fleas buliding up too much to get off the line(easier to just cut an inch of main line ,connection knot and one inch of leader). Then I took a tip from the At The Oak site last Friday and I attached 150 ft. of 50 lb. Big Game to my main line of 30lb. Big game and added a 20ft. leader of 20# Segaur flouro to terminate. This setup worked amazingly well on Saturday. No fleas at all and we pulled 6 fish on those rods(short trip). Whoever experimented to obtain these results..Thanks! Tank

Almost passed the boat on an outside spread run! Feisty wire fish. This fish took a mag wart frog off the 112 rigger over 370ft and took me out to 600 ft. Basically one run. Awesome fight! This horse took the 285 wire on a 1.5 setting with my STILL hot chrome/green green hologram spinny and hammer fly. Took me out to 550 and bulldogged me for 1/2 hour. Caught last night. Nice job Tom! Sorry about your rigger issues. We did a big boy out there today too..23#'s. Took a wart frog mag off the 112 rigger. We finished up 9 for 14. Steelies, Cohos and Kings. I think you motored out behind me at one point? I couldnt tell if it was you at the time. Tank

Caught and released this gorgeous Brown today(5/7/10) off of Bogus Point, Lighthouse Beach. Had to get the digital out for this one..most pics this season were from my phone. I originally thought this fish would be a King or a big Steelie as it made an abnormally long run for a Brown! Tight lines, Tank

Lure Depth: 2-15 Awesome day on the water flying solo! Slow pick to start until the wind picked up out of the East. Was 5-7 by 10am and finished the day 10-13 by 11:30(that was fun). Mix of boards and rigger. From 10-11am I could not keep the rigger in the water. Similar to another report out of Mexico I did most early fish in 8ft. then slid out to check deeper water as the day progressed and the bite slowed. Decided to hit 8 ft. with the wave cover again at 10am and it WAS ON!! several fish in the 7-10# range, all fish were short and FAT!
