They have moved in and up just as fast as they came in. After every rough day the next day usually brings in a fresh batch of sharks. The 25 to the 29 north line been the most consistent fishing for the last month or so. Alot of fuel but well worth it. The steelhead and 2 and 3 yr old salmon are abundant when you find the bait. We have managed to boat 3 steelhead that were tickling the 18lb mark, beauties! Yesterday the fish offshore were gone, they packed thier bags and moved in to the 20 to 21 north line. (110 to 150ft ) Silver green with glow be it spoons or spinnies. The bite is awesome, the fish are chewing bigtime right now in prep for their run. Their are still some matures their as well as those 3yr olds. A few more trips and i am done till march. I can only hope next year we be like this killer year. Take care SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================
  5. This issue is not going to go away too soon. Its rearing iits ugly head again, as i heard on the radio this morning. Lets kill it once and for all!
  6. You are the MAN jim. Get that sled ready.
  7. They are there big time. 2 loads came in since 9/8.
  8. Yes, there is plenty of fish in the river. I fished mon afternoon between the bridges and had 2 for 9. It was loaded with them. Once they are there there is no going back. It is all upstream from then on.
  9. WOW! Brought tears to my eyes, and that aint easy.
  10. Lff, spoons have been the man overall around the river and out deep. Mags in front of the river and 28 size offshore. Bright stuff in either water. It is very green water no matter where you are, unless you are in the river flow. Flies and paddles are a whole nother issue. Keep it simple for now

There was a small upwelling then. The second slug arrived after the week of the windy noreasters we had. That was 9/8. At that time we had a good upwelling and all the salmon that were even thinking about it. busted a move to the river. The fishing was great the first few days, with double digit catches. Since then most of the fish went up the river. Last night i fished right behind my boat. Between the bridges we went 2 for 7. The stacked like cordwood in there. That is the deepest part of the river. We need another front to roll through to bring more fish. The 21 to the 29 north line has been awesome for monster steelhead and 2year old salmon. One trip pulled a steelie just under 18lbs with a few chrome matures as well. Anything silver green and glow was getting chewed. I will be all done fishing on the 28th. Too many things to do, wow. 12. Hey Greg. i dont ever grab a rod UNLESS there are handicapped in some way. I have been known to back away, point, and shout fish fish fish. When i said recover the finances for them to join the loc, i mean pay me back for doing so, not looking for winnings. That would be a bonus.
  13. Thats a great thought to use the deposit money, as long as you can recover back the funds. I will try it for the next 6 days.
  14. The second day of the loc brought out a 35.54lb monster shark. Of course my charter was too late to enter for the day. (big surprise) Then as the day wore on we beached a 13.73 steelhead, killing me. Even better, a charter captain friend of mine boated a 19.22 brown. Yes, they were not entered either. The very next day, another buddy/charter capt. lands a 25 plus lake trout. Once again no entrys. This really sucks for promoting rochester fishing, and its great captains. I called dave chilson and told him the great news, he laughed. He assured me that this happens all the time. So see whitemule, we have the fish to be on the board, but we just dont get it done. Oh well there is still time left. By the way, there is some very large salmon swimming around this year. It has been 6 years sice we have seen a class of sharks like these. Good luck!
  15. Cutco fishermans solution is by far the best knife and the most expensive you will ever use. Guaranteed for ever.
  16. Where can i get those FOX FLIES????????
  17. I always knew you were chicken farmer at heart. Thats definately a beauty. No more talking bad about those forkies. Fins, and a water tight ass, they are all good. Nice job at sandy.
  18. I agree with scott. We dont need to hear shark attacks, started with a triple, coppers on fire, no thanks. How about 200 to 275 water is hot with spoons, 3 to 5 out of the west today, temp is at 75ft in 180 today, etc, etc.
  19. Screamer, sure strike, top gun, fishin magician, high voltage, thats all i can remember matt. It was in that order. By the way fishing has been great home no matter where you go.
  20. Sorry rick, i was just a tad slow on that one.
  21. I am not trying to make go fast rick, it just seems that way. I was just thinking last night while fishing (of course) we are through half the season in 2 more weeks! Time does fly when you are having fun.
