I am glad to see you guys replying. The one day winnings other than the largest fish should not be there. A two day total of your 'box' and your 5 largest for each day, 10 fish total would make things interesting and simplify the short checks. The no communication rulementioned by rick is fine, seeing if you are in some of the calcutta moneys you cant talk anyways. The idea is to go out, find fish, figure out a strategy, and make it happen. You can hear of all of the 'hotspots' at the weigh in. Overall i would like to see no checks on day one, all prizes on day two. Once again vince, how come we dont know the value of the checks that are handed out? I agree with you also tom, the zing is waned slightly, bring back the old Pro/Am.Thanks

I fished the sodus pro-am ( i am not sure where the am comes in) and in MY opinion there is to many places and small prizes to be won. Seems to me that there is alot more checks paid out in smaller amounts so you can feel like a weiner i mean winner. The entry fee is raised so this can happen. I will take the old format with a few modifications to make it feel like you have chance to really win something better. I am not going to get into what should be changed, but i am sure the committee will figure it out. I speak to quite a few people and they feel the same, but wont speak. Just my thoughts. Bring on the old style PRO-AM, thanks. P.S. why dont they say the amount that the team won when they get their winnings???

Sounds frustrating matt. NOAA should not be a part of tournaments, period. Look at the bouys, send somebody out, etc. You sign a waiver that they are not responsible for what happens once you leave the dock. So why now???? Lawyers, maybe i dont know. That need to square that rule away.

The lampreys in the last, say 7 years seem to have found where they winter over. Meaning in my mind that where ever the big browns wallow in the winter, lets say in 120ft on the bottom is where the lampreys sneak up on them and latch on. They then stay on for the meal until the browns scratch them off in the shallows. There has always been plenty of snakes around, but have never seen so many hits on the big browns as in the last 7 or so years. I totally agree with vinny on the electrics (steelheads) about the prime water everywhere. A light north wind for a couple of days would change things here for sure. It would be nice to get a better handle on the lampreys.

Good deal rick. I heard the bite is insane there this year, and spread out as well. We have good slug of sharks chewing in rochester along with the usual spring fish, except the cohoes never really showed for the party. Save some for seed, good luck.

I am trying to find out what are the best modifications to be made to double keel otter boats. I have run a set lately with a full and a half keel, with the loop at 10" in the front and 14" in the back. They seem to run fine with spring baits. I will probably only run 2 coppers off of them at the most. Any thoughts???

That definately makes you think about what goes on down there. Years ago there was video out called salmon spectacular from the west coast. Same type of scenario of fish following for ever, looking, sniffing, etc. The one that really wanted to chew would do so without following. It gets you thinking.................
