Found fish in 90 or 95' and set a waypoint that we worked for the rest of the day. Never found much fish outside it. Fish there filled the column from 20' to bottom. Not much action considering the passes we made. Took the steelhead near the surface off boards with deep diver rapala black/silver. One more hit off the board natural/black gold. Took the king off rigger down 50' stinger blue/yellow spoon (nice to feel the king fight). Nothing after 10:00. Saw lots of boats in shallow working for browns in the dirty water. Hope they hooked up. Beautiful morning on the water.
  5. Nice job! I'm sure your first mate wishes he could have helped!
  6. I'll take them. PM sent.
  7. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:yukginger/Jersey Star ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):3/18 Time on Water:0730-1045 Weather/Temp:beautiful Wind Speed/Direction:negligible Waves: Surface Temp: 42-45 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 1 Total Boated:0 Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: 2.5-3.25 SOG Down Speed: Boat Depth: 10-30 Lure Depth: 3-20 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS To quote ScottB from another report - SUCKED! After yesterday's mild success to the east of the bay (and nothing west) we headed east of the Bay and trolled past Webster Park. Clear water all the way and sun (opposite of yesterday). We ran 6 lines today - one rigger at 5-15' depending on depth and one line out the back. Spoons on the rigger, sticks on the board lines. Boards with two lines each. Trolled 10-30' all day. Had one hit in 20' of water on a jointed Rap in gold/black but fish not home when we grabbed the rod. That's it. Beautiful morning on the water, but could have been perfect with some fish. Had eyes on 12-15 boats and didn't see one net move, but hopefully someone caught some. ====================
  8. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Jersey Star ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):3/17 Time on Water:7:30-12:30 Weather/Temp:chilly and froggy Wind Speed/Direction: ENE? Waves: 1-2 Surface Temp:44-48 Location:I-bay LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 5 Total Boated:4 Species Breakdown:Browns Hot Lure: blue and silver stickbait Trolling Speed: 2.0-2.25? Down Speed: Boat Depth: 7-20 Lure Depth: 1-5 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Launched out of I-Bay for the first trip of the year. Battery wouldn't do it at the launch, but a generous fellow angler let us borrow his jump box (thanks, man!) and we got under way. Headed east out of the bay toward Webster Park. Fished four lines off planer boards and one flatline straight out the back. Picked up 3 fish in about 45 minutes about 8:00-9:00 and thought we were going to have a 10+ fish day. All were in 12-17' of water. We fished 10-20'. 3 of the 4 four for the day came on various blue/silver stickbaits. Water over in that area is quite clear. Later we headed back toward the bay, but no action. Turned and hit another fish approaching Webster Park. Decided to head west to see if many of the other boaters we had seen at the launch had gone toward the Genny for muddy water/or the mudline. Didn't see much over there. Temp at the Genny mouth was 50.0. Trolled west and in but nothing. Still foggy, but the sun finally started to shine through a bit. Trolled back past the pier but still no action and we pulled for the day. Kept two 4.5 lbers for the grill. Back out tomorrow - probably hit the same area and hope for southerlies and some sun (chilly out there today!). ====================
  9. I'll take these and the other lot of 4 if Jay Jay doesn't. PM me for payment instructions. Thanks. Mark
  10. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone tripling up on pike! Awesome.
  11. Awesome fishing. With reports like this and the weather the way it is there will surely be many more boats on the water earlier this year.
  12. PMd and emailed. I'll take them.
  13. 42 fish? Awesome!!!
  14. Nice job! Great fall days to be out on the lake catching fish.
  15. Great report. My neighbor and I went down to Canandaigua only to find the State launch park closed. Decided not to run to the south end and tow the boat back toward home. Considered launching out of I-bay but I didn't know if the docks were still in and by then it was near 8:30 so we just towed her home. MISTAKE!!!! Nice going.
  16. Search the forums here for posts with "kayak" in the title and you will find some posts. I'm always impressed by the reports that those guys give.
  17. Helps a lot. Thanks for the post
  18. This border and port issue must get worked out. There was a fine paid recently by a boater in Canadian waters in the St. Lawrence (not anchored) where he also was given the choice of boat seizure or the fine. Some legislators have sought clarification of the rules by CA authorities. Here's one thread on this site discussing this: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25179&hilit=canada Here's the official statement of the rules by the CA government. It comes from this page: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications ... .html#s2x1 ************************* Private boats If you arrive in Canada aboard a private boat, you must proceed directly to the nearest designated telephone reporting marine site. Upon arrival in Canada, the master of the boat must report to the CBSA by calling 1-888-226-7277. The master of the boat will provide details of the voyage, the passengers and their declaration. No one except the master may leave the boat until authorized to do so by the CBSA. As proof of presentation, masters will be provided with a report number for their records. Masters must provide this number to a border services officer upon request. You do not have to report to the CBSA when you leave by private boat unless you are exporting goods that need to be documented. To get a list of the designated telephone reporting marine sites, call 1-888-226-7277 before you arrive in Canada. ************************** I think they need to define "arrive in Canada," in order to be clear at all on this rule, especially if they are going to argue that an unanchored, non-docked vessel in open water is subject to this rule.
  19. Nice report! Yes, a great shakedown.
  20. Nice going. We were out in the same area. Had two hits in the morning on the shoreline but nobody home by the time the rod was up. Worked out to 70-90' for that color change. Marked lots of fish but never got them to go.
  21. Nice looking boat. Is that your complete ad?
  22. Wow, glad it wasn't worse. Good to be reminded of the **** that can happen! Now you have to learn to reel with your left!
  23. I'll take them if Freeman doesn't. I'm local. MarkG
  24. Nice report, Spike. It's also nice to see you admit problems that I know I've struggled with- i.e., losing lures due to long lines (or leads, or leadcore line) that are running a little deeper than you thought. It's form of support, whether you know it or not, to report your troubles and challenges, as well as your successes, because some of us less-experienced folks can find it encouraging - to know that we're not the only ones that have screwups and cf#$%s once in a while!
