  1. bright ones...... pink, pink/blue, orange/blue, reds....... bright. and sometimes small....... c5's..... alpena diamonds....
  2. Some good karma is definitely headed your way!
  3. Always on CHIRP. I don't recall ever "not believing" the machine. I think it's marking fish where it should when it should.....
  4. Yes..... On Erie for eyes/perch and LO for salmon/trout......
  5. Yes. I'm running the same transducer to a Garmin Echomap Plus 93SV, in CHIRP, and marking fish from the bottom to the top in 130 FOW........... last weekend. There were plenty of lakers on the bottom where I was last weekend.........
  6. wire divers If I'm only running one per side, 2 1/2...... 2 per side, 1 and 2 1/2
  7. gorgeous fish...... from nose to tail...... congrats.
  8. You can probably search old threads and pick up 80% of what you need........ for the rest, just ask here. Guys are happy to share their experiences. I'm just the opposite ...... only use "big boards".
  9. and for the s-biner setup, when a king takes the spoon(bait), the diver releases as it should? Any advice on setting the diver release tension screw?
  10. https://www.lre.usace.army.mil/Missions/Great-Lakes-Information/Great-Lakes-Water-Levels/Water-Level-Forecast/Weekly-Great-Lakes-Water-Levels/ The one month projected level is updated at the link above......... -4 is the biggest projected drop in a long time.
  11. Sometimes pinning in slow clear water, I've seen a definite increase in float drops when going to less than 6 lb test. These experiments were with fluoro, but it became difficult to land fish on less than 3.3 lb leader material. I've never run the same experiments with mono or copo. might be worth it though............
  12. How about just leave the road open? I've been using it right along.................
  13. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/152445-line-stretch-test-18-typesbrands/ Here's a little data on line stretch that might challenge the "fluoro don't stretch" myth. And a video on 10 lb fluoro stretch and deformation.
  14. You read that mixing grease can lead to bearing failure...... what's the theory there? I've always used marine bearing grease for trailers, but have changed brand to brand in the gun, without issues.......
  15. One year after new trailer tires and a bearing repack, I was going down the road and looking at the trailer hub in the side mirror when off goes the bearing buddy skipping down the road. The new trailer tires were not balanced and I feel that contributed. I've also noticed that some bearing protectors pound into the hub much harder than others. Tolerances vary, hub to hub and BB to BB. That being said I wouldn't expect it to fall out if it had been installed for some time....... pretty long odds. And you just beat the odds by being at the awards! Congrats!
  16. It's best if you just go right to the 2:00 mark to learn about what causes wave action. or the 3:35 mark to learn that your speed will be limited to 5 MPH out to 1000 miles from shore. But local jurisdictions can reduce that distance............
  17. It's an excellent question that we all should be interested in..... I've had several patches froze off my face in the past 2 years. I don't mind wearing sunscreen, but are there any products that don't sting your eyes after sweating? That's brutal..........
  18. There have been 6 or 7 cormorants in the ponds along 531 for about 3 weeks now............ the ba$tards are everywhere.
  19. Pretty sure I could launch there in my sleep....... pretty sure I have launched there in my sleep. If the creek is clear, no issues....... if the creek is muddy, go slo and shoot for the middle of the pad. But if there's any boat volume at all, it'll be a zoo.
  20. I think when they closed the Sandy ramp 2 years ago, they never got the floating dock to the north in place........
  21. It would be interesting to see similar reports for Steelhead and Salmon.
  22. https://www.lre.usace.army.mil/Missions/Great-Lakes-Information/Great-Lakes-Water-Levels/Water-Level-Forecast/Weekly-Great-Lakes-Water-Levels/ +11 inches by June 3!
  23. Thanks for the comeback...... Ever slipfloat live bait to them? It might work in the early season/colder water.
