People who steal stuff from boats or trailers

One year after new trailer tires and a bearing repack, I was going down the road and looking at the trailer hub in the side mirror when off goes the bearing buddy skipping down the road. The new trailer tires were not balanced and I feel that contributed. I've also noticed that some bearing protectors pound into the hub much harder than others. Tolerances vary, hub to hub and BB to BB. That being said I wouldn't expect it to fall out if it had been installed for some time....... pretty long odds. And you just beat the odds by being at the awards! Congrats! -

It would be interesting to see similar reports for Steelhead and Salmon.

The offshore steelhead bite out of Wilson or Olcott can be insane in mid-late summer. -

The good fishing continues....... 3 Kings and 6 or 7 Browns in 2.5 hours..... The most interesting thing of the evening was a brown that puked up a gobie almost 7" long........ spoons, 8' on my Cannon Downrigger, and various sticks off the boards...... 12 - 18 FOW. The warmer the pocket, the better the fishing. I did hit what I think was an ice cube the size of a couple 5 gallon buckets........ it was pretty much below the surface, so be careful out there.

On Saturday it looked like a big flock of cormorants got blown off the lake and took up residence in the creek. In the frogwater section between East Fork Marine and the lake, I estimated 150 birds. I'd never seen that before in the past 30 years. They've been in the lower section since then. Yesterday evening, I launched and motored towards the lake, and there were probably 80 birds sitting on the spit to the East of the creek, along the East bay......

Last night while fishing a LO trib, I witnessed a pike swimming very slowly with it's head just above the surface. Sometimes it would submerge so that just the front of it's mouth was out and other times you could see the entire head and eyes. This is the second time I've witnessed this. Both times in the spring........... Any theory on what's going on here?
