  4. I agree if they eat goby that much they could be a good control device, also a good goby imitation could be a real productive lure....hmmmm, maybe I gotta check into some goby flies from jitterfly...the feather hair kind.
  5. Stan, you got the means, now put some fish on that video? Looks like ya got lots of rods ta play with....Are those Okuma blue diamonds?...I like those..good job Stan now boat some fish will ya Mark
  6. you guys are killin me ...that's it..... where's the nearest airport...man I gotta get outta this truck and go FISH ON! nice report, good times Thanks Mark
  7. Nice catches fellers Now i wish I wasn't 2800 miles away Mark
  8. Good job Mick, a little persistence pays off eh? Love the smile on the boy, that's what it's all about. You're makin me homesick Mark
  9. Take your accountant out on a few trips...if you own a business you can write off some of the expenses involved with fishing as entertainment of a client. Advertise your business on the side of the boat and write off some expenses there as well. Some of those AIG execs like to fish, find one and get some bailout money, tell the IRS bailout was for the bilge pump failure...Ok that's it I'm all outta suggestions. I always wondered why the IRS agent came to my house all fired up and then left as a babbling idiot
  10. buckets are no fun to use for slowing the boat..not to mention they aren't effective and hard to store. trolling bags are much easier and ya can hang em off the bow rail or cleat up front where they are outta the way. One on each side along the hull and it won't effect your steering badly. Also fyi...when you type Dick's in your search engine, don't forget the apostrophe, or you'll get dicks only Ray would be proud of
  11. longer boom would be advisable, because the boat creates a backwash swirl as it moves along through the water and inadvertently could wash the cable back into the outdrives. Also rough water could cause a misguided thump at the back of the boat with the ball. I have 60 inch booms on mine and am glad for the extra confidence in deploying the inboard riggers. Mark
  12. I haven't reported because I'm lurking to see if anybody has posted a fishy report....no seriously I been too busy tryin to get my big O boat ready and haven't even set up my perch rigs yet, and now I gotta go back ta my cell and do community service (drive the 18 wheeler) for the next three weeks Don't catch all the perch while I'm away, I'll be checkin on ya maybe April 8th will be good (home again). remember to carry out what ya brought in (trash) and even if ya see someone not so civilized, pick up their mess too and don't leave discarded fish carcasses stink up the neighbors. It makes for a better environment and respect for the neighbors. They like to call the cops and DEC to harass you if they feel violated by slobs Hope you all have a great time there! Mark
  13. excellent, love the action! nice...very nice Mark
  14. Modis color looks good that way too...wierd cyclone of green water coming in from braddocks, could be a hot spot there. Nice job guys
  15. Modis camera color, yesterday, looks good down that way. Was thinking of tryin down towards Shadigee and out to golden hills. I can launch at Point Breeze...22 foot boat probably too much for golden hills without a dock. Nice job guys...specially fer a couple a fellow lyntuckians Mark
  16. happy b-day Nick, may all yer candles go out on the first blow...why is it that when ya git older there's more candles to blow out and less wind to do it with...how do we get to have our wishes come true if we can't blow them all out? THAT'S HOW! Mark
  17. Nice wally, think I saw her swimin in the Cranberry before...or one of the many just like that..Thanks for the pic TTF!
  18. That's aisian style fishin with a duck (cormorant) on the line Thought about the cold air this morn and fiqured the ice to skim up a little. I think it's gonna do the same tonite. I might go mon.
  19. Happy b-day Jax ......ok that's it before ya get Mark
  20. Thanks for the report Doug, Was hoping to get out there soon...guess it's gonna be crowded this weekend... maybe gotta get the row boat out. Thanks , Mark
  21. Salmon river Hatchery in Altmar..Thia is the gate keeping them from going further up stream and turning them to the ladders
  22. If the smaller boat is used with a long shaft and the skeg is too low you might adapt a heavy board to the transom with strong c-clamps and mount the motor higher on that.... I have a long shaft yamaha, and its on a 22ft with an integral swim platform. I want to try it on my 14 foot aluminum, so that is the idea I'm going to try. Should work ok
  23. Take the kids to Altmar at the salmon river...The salmon and steelhead are just like that coming up the creek into the fish ladders
  24. Believe me...if ya don't want a whole armada of blowboats around...fish far away from Ray he invites them to come see buffy fishing on channel... ummm ... "69" "see my white sailor hat"? ...trust me I know
