3. About the deep fried Salmon....one word....NOOOooo! Been there, done it, never never again....FISHY!...caca, pooooy! Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
 4. Perfection knot loop here. Loop Through the ring ...fly through the loop. The fly rotates with the flasher...for a different action use a barrel snap swivel, and the fly slows down on rotation a little. Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
 5. I think we are going to have a lot of water. A lot of water with runoff that will be cold for a good while into early summer. That runoff will also be muddy and will help to warm the shallows quicker which might lead to some better brown trout cover. There is a lot of snow cover all over the mid west northern states bordering all the lakes. The only die off I would hope to see would be the sea fleas. Bait forage will likely be later than usual arriving to the Niagara, but I don't think there will be a big die off, due to the fact of the depth of the lake and the alewife can survive at most any depth that suits their comfort. Smelt are lovers of the cold water anyway. Prepare to fish in colored water due to a lot of runoff and current. June will be tough fishing when transitions become a factor for very cold water on top to exchange with bottom layers. Strong current from the river this summer with all the flow from the other lakes will influence the transitions greatly with east winds. Should be challenging I would guess with hit and miss days until Mid summer. That's what I think anyways...for what its worth? Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
 6. While using your folding ice hut (like my Yukon) during a snow storm, DON'T... forget to shake the excess water off the top of it before you fold it down for transport. Once in my haste to leave the ice after using the buddy heater in there all day, I folded it down only to find the next day when I wanted to unfold it in the cold wind....well it was frozen in the folded position ...for a long time...needless to say I was very cold and pizzed at my dumb mistake. 10. Not sure if they are legal to use in NY fresh waters...better check but the bait is usually too small for the mesh. Emeralds are pretty skinny!

Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

11. Just what I wanted to do...wade around in seaweed, rotting and stinking in the sun on hot blacktop while launching the boat. Kinda negates the benefits of having a nice paved launch to use. Just how does cleaning the trailer frame and axles for 30 minutes make a difference after the boat is sitting on bunks covered in it? The seaweed is trapped until the next time you launch, so in my opinion, anyone has wasted their time pulling part of the foul off the trailer.
As mentioned before to really have the issue more in control, it is up to us to be sure the launch is cleared by a long handle rake. If you can carry one that's great, but the public ramps that are maintained by taxes and launch fees should have the ramp cleaning tools accessible. If everyone were using the rake to clear the ramp each time it became cluttered, it would soon be a clean ramp for every launch.

Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

12. Very nice Rick! I can tell that the photo ops on the Yankee Troller have paid off as the pics are very well done! OH! and hey!...welcome to my world of center console fishing...well almost. April isn't quite the same, however that Buddy Davis could be just a little overkill on our "puddle"!
 13. Something like that!...hahaha!...I know, I know!..just gotta find a thesaurus which defines "Something like that" :wub:Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

 15. I have read that manufactured cat food from fish can be a problem for thyroid as well as some urinary trouble for male cats. However, I cannot fillet a salmon or trout that has come home, without Jasper tearing my leg off and incessantly meowing for some raw fresh salmon from Lake O. He eats as much as he can hold, and has been doing so for about 8 years without issues. He gets some even when thawed and prepared to cook. Still a cat! Thyroid is a common ailment in cats like mentioned before.

Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

17.
That is exactly right Brian...they do fit loosely in a TC, and primer budge is a concern. It usually takes 3 rounds without cleaning to tighten up the barrel to the projectile, thereby increasing velocity and consistent drag on the bullet to get good groups. Just can't achieve the tightness on that little plastic disc to seal the gases behind it. I find the long plastic sabot with petals and a sub caliber bullet of .44 or.45 gets better adhesion to the bore rifling and bullet. Harder to push down the barrel but that means better sealing and more consistency. Also the 209 will not move it from its seat in the breach.

Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

19. Easy to load, fair accuracy, lousy terminal performance...don't like them much...my butcher has some from bow killed deer that just got bent up and never expand. Anyway the deer lived to next season due to that poor terminal aforementioned.

Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

20. Hooked WiFi smart tv to puter hooked to hot spot on smart phone ....ran through bulbs played through 135 watts 5 channel home theater.....oops, not so smart! Sorry honey!..I'll replace windows, right after the pics hang up and plaster the ceiling...ok?...you said your cake did what? You seen the cats?...found one!..here kitty kitty..come outta that chimney flue, yer stuffing up the draft! Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
 21. GROUSE!...new fallen snow...deep.. quietly sneaking through woods deer hunting. Step over a suspended log enveloped with new powder snow.....VRRRROOOOOMMMM!...thought I stepped on a claymore mine! Almost chased it with a 30.06 round! Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
 22. I used to fly kites when I was a kid but never had one drag me out across a lake! Usually it was a warm and sunny day laying on the grass looking up....Yup ...that's whacko! Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
 23. That looks exactly like the one I retrieved. These deer are tough, and strong will to flee. Shot placement perfecting or not, with brain and spine intact they still can amazingly act as though unharmed lots of times! Dan's deer ran 50 yards with basically jelly for vitals. Mark Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
 24. Yup!..saved a slug from an 8 point my daughters boyfriend shot with my H&R ultra slug one year. Slug entered right front shoulder 45 degrees quartering to, and like your deer, had a lump under the skin on the left side just in front of the hind quarter. Slug went through everything inside. Made a mess to clean out. Slug popped out with knife tip. Perfect expansion, banana peeled, base intact. I'll get a picture when home before Christmas, if I can find it.
