  1. I live just south of 89 traders village (sounds like the area that you saw this coyote). We are surrounded by big woods and it is not uncommon to her three diffrent packs hunting their prey late in the evening........... I've seen a few that match your disciption. Keeps the cat population in check
  2. Thanks for the advice guys. In theory it works well. After all we all b&*(ch about the costs associated with boat ownership (maintenance, storage, repairs, yadayada). The gut fealing was telling me it was not worth jeoprodizing a friendship. I guess it just means saving the cabbage a few more year's.........
  3. Kicking an idea around with a fishing buddy. I fish mainly the fingerlakes sporatically 8 months a year (April - November) and he fishes in the FL keys 2 months streight (January / February). We would occasionally use the boat together as well. We both have older 16 and 18 foot boats and would like to upgrade in the next few year's. If we chipped in together we could afford a much newer nice boat. Both of our fishing styles are similiar and we have found a boat that would suit both of us. We would split all the maintenamce costs/ insurance. Is this a good idea? Anyone been a partner on a boat purchase? Thanks, Lavarock
  4. Chris- Thanks for your detailed information! I've tried this system without success on the Fingerlakes and Ontario (we've figured out traditional vertical jigging). I think my issue is the rod. Could you please recommend both a rod / reel combo for this lighter butterfly jigging? Also what # braid and flouro you suggest? All the online info. leans torwards have ocean equipment. Thanks, Chris
  5. Sounds like there is potential...................... Maybe we'll talk to the folks at Steamers the next time we fish in Oswego. How about Rudy's in Oswego? I'll talk to the owners of a few places on Cayuga to see if they woud be willing to do it as well (Omallies, Habiscus Harbor, Wolffy's, Deer Head) Seems like a fine end to a day of fishing to me........
  6. Just returned from the keys and spent every day fishing. In the mid afternoon we took out catch (felleted) area restaurants for "catch n cook". For 7 - 8 dollars they cooked your fish any way you wanted and onion rings / fries / coleslaw. This is a great concept! I checked our local health department and there is nothing in the code restricting this idea. Anyone here in NY take there catch to a retaurant to be cooked ??? Just Curious, Lavarock
  7. Dean's cove should be ok. They lowered the lake another foot about 2-3 weeks ago. The reason is the Hydrilla problem. The DEC requested it. This is as low as they can go before problems happen with the Seneca Falls water treatment plant intake around Canoga......... Good Luck
  8. Can these be adapted to 110 volt? I'd like to put one in the camp to hear any distress calls........Thanks
  9. How do those drum taste? I believe they are cousin to the salt water variety....
  10. Went and looked at this boat........ This is a lot of boat for the $ and should make a great fishing machine for the new owner! The discoveries were build as well as any Lund or Alumacraft (maybe better - they have aluminum floors....) Twotops is a hellava guy as well!
  11. Thanks again!!!!!!!!! Interesting that the sturgeon are reaching a reproductive state............... Lets hope it's successful. That would make for an interesting tight line!
  12. Thanks for sharing your adventure! Great pix. Any idea of prior year catch rates? Lavarock
  13. Time will tell, I know alot of the Cayuga bass fishermen target smallies. If that's the case there will be increased traffic on the main part of the lake. I'm just curious if the 2 tourny's were on the same day last year.
  14. Has the FLW tourney always been this upcoming weekend (7/9)??? I heard they have 400 entries into the FLW tourney. With the red cross going on, Cayuga is going to be a mad house................
  15. Giving some fellow fisherman a deal. I have a royal blue bimini top that is in great shape. It measures 70" across (hole to hole) and will flex a few inches either way. It has three supports that go across over head. The longest one is 56 inches. It is similiar to the ones Cabelas sells for $200. $40 and it's yours. Older Willie planner board mast. Mast is aluminum with plastic cranks. It comes with a seperate base that bolts to your boat. It's in good shape, $40. I'm located in Interlaken and can meet in Ithaca. Moving soon and wnt them gone. Thanks, Chris
  16. I just bought 2 of the 15 lb torpedos as well. I also have the blacks releases ( I think slider). Can someone clarify on rigging these up? I originally hooked the blacks to the rigger cable and then all of that to the top of the torpedo. I did not trust the way it was tracking, so I pulled the blacks release off of thr rigger cable and attached it to the eyelet on the end of the torpedo to force it to track. What is the prefered method???????
  17. For sale 27 assorted dodgers. All have seen trolling action, but are ready to use. A couple could use a little paint work. They are resting on a 6"x6". $40 shipped.
  18. That's one happy camper! Way to go with creating the opportunity that made memories that will last a lifetime!
  19. Awesome!!!!!!! Love it when the kiddos have the hot hand. Did the bow hit on the retrieve, drop or bottom? I was a week to early. Last sunday I landed an 11 lb. Brown, What a ride!!
  20. WOOHOOOO....... What a beautiful, clean laker. Relish the moment!
  21. KY jelly works wonders...........Um , so I've heard.........
  22. All right.......... Here is my Cayuga report..... The lines have been real hot just S. of Mud lock. We've been having some steady action just N. of Treman Marina. Mini Marshmellows have really been working and if you can find the pink ones, so much the better - your really in luck! Good Luck Guys and watch the thunderbolts!
