Just bought 2 black rigger release (a must have!). nect will be 2 atomik torpedo weights to get the riggers to track better. Keep it up. I've been asked about the seating possibilities. Here is what has worked the best for us. Under power the front seat is not used, poor weight distribution. The boat motors fine with 4 guys with the following layout. The driver, a cooler top seat cushion (included) fits the cooler in front of the console (guys sit bck to back-similiar to an ocean center console), there is a 2'x2.5' aluminum livewell behind the driverseat where the 4th passenger sits on a standard cushion.

StingDave, I appreciate the kind words. I'm a bit superstisious and this boat has brought me some seriously good luck. Here is a 1st place derby Brown that was jigged and the hefty Carp caught by my nephew. In all, this boat has brought us 8 derby places. It's bitter sweet to say the least. I forgot to mention a bimini top is included with the boat. It has never been installed, but is simple enough. Chris

For sale: 1992 Discovery Voyager Aluminum Fishing Boat (This boat was manufactured by the Grumman Boat company that now makes the duranautic line-up). 16 feet in length, 40 HP 2 cycle Evinrude outboard, 25 gallon live well, newer Minn Kota 55 lb. thrust bow mount trolling motor with seperate battery, 2 older invader manual downriggers with easy mounting base, two newer trailer tires. The original owner was a metal fabricator by trade. He fabricated the entire trailer, center console, seating area/ livewell and the bow rail all out of aluminum. The craftsmanship was top notch and one would pay $2,500 - $3,000 for this work alone. Due to the the entire package being made out of aluminum, it makes for really easy trailering. My wifes 4 cylinder Honda Accord tows this package with ease, as should any mid size car. This boat can do it all. Bass fish, lake trout jig, pan fish, walleye and even salmon trolling. We have even used it in a pinch when a family members boat broke down for water skiing and tubing. I mainly fish the fingerlakes, but I have used this boat on the Niagara River and Lake Ontario. This boat has always been stored inside. I always use top grade 2-cycle oil, the lower unit oil gets changed annually as does the trailer wheel bearing grease. I recently bought a boat with 2 Big Jon electric riggers. The are date stamped 1986, but are in good over all shape. When fishing in say 100' feet water, on the ball retrieve the thermo overheat button will trip 3 times. I was using 10 lb. rigger balls. What is the remidy for this? Any one suggest a shop I can have them repaired at? I can live with it for now, but this would be handy to have fixed over the winter. Thanks Lavarock

one disappeared on us tonight. I took the family out North of Taugh. and I dropped a double booted ski, slalomed for a ways and when we returned it was gone. we searched every where. I suspect someone saw the double boots and picked it up thinking one would only drop a single boot. Any one find a gray Connelly near the scout camp, please shoot me a PM.

I'll be there, but far from 100%. I'm recovering from the redcross derby (lucked out with a brownie and a laker on the board). I'll be going out of Taugh with my four year old for a leisure trip (as well as a visit to the play ground - according to my boy). I'm hoping to bump into some of you guys along the way. Not enough............ The derby scale said 9.65

Sorry for the late post. The derby was a first and a real trip for us!. We had 2 vetrans aboard and one green horn (as in started fishing less then a year ago). Our highlight was watching the newbie land this hen Brown on 6 lb. test. She gave him everything she had and we had to clear all the lines. He fought the fish like a pro. When we finally got the fish in the boat there was no doubt in my mind that she would make the board, boy was I wrong. Clearly there are two outstanding salmonid fisheries in this lake and the bows are strong as well. It's a shame that the derby does not give fair credit to at least the Laker and Brown fisheries. All in all, it was a wild saturday and a great change of pace from our usual fisheries. It was a day and fight that I will remember forever, but it was a bummer the newbie did not place. This fish would have placed 3rd on the Seneca Memorial derby. Maybe the next time around............

Well done! That's awesome your girls are into it as well. Your raising them right! Took my 4yr old boy and the neighbors 3yr. old on sunday. We had some funky weather pass through over night and we got a skunk on the jig/ laker bite.

No board fish for us, but had a blast. My buddy got carried away setting out the lines to the planner boards. His rod tripped and he fought the biggest fish of his life for about a minute. Dollar signs were glowing in place of his eye balls and he had an unmatched adreniline rush. The look on his face when he realized the kid in the other boat just reeled in his stickbait, PRICELESS!

I did a search on catfish in the fingerlakes and came up with a goose egg. I've been toying with the idea of trying to latch into a few channel cats, but don't know where to start. I've heard areas of the seneca canal and dresden outlet can produce. Anyone have an idea of when and where in the fingerlakes? A friend says use shrimp for bait. Thanks!
