  1. No worries, he only lost a couple of Gary D rigs and we all know those don’t catch fish.
  2. What was the state of health of the king? By the look of things, that flasher was dragging bottom for awhile. He probably got into your spread to take a look and got the rig snagged. Better to be lucky than good.
  3. These cases can be avoided sometimes by usage of an air horn. It is loud and gets their attention.
  4. Yes, Dr Weidel’s alewife assessment for the year is now complete.
  5. We had a really good bite offshore today. Kings, cohos and steelhead.
  6. The down current was pushing out last weekend. That is why it was cold in there. New day tomorrow
  7. You failed to make Detective. It’s in the thread title. The green can is off the Niagara near the mouth.
  8. X2. Debris fields are visual “tells” that indicate an area of current wadded up a bunch of stuff and shoved it up against the bank. Bait and plankton gets pushed by those same currents. As stated, if debris is too thick, fish the edges. If just feathers and driftwood, go through it. Usually fish are up high and feeding in those areas
  9. Yesterday I tried Off deep woods spray on my legs and spread some catmint around the boat that I had growing in my yard. Flies were much less than the day before and the Off worked well enough. I think I was bit twice all morning. The catmint made an absolute mess of the boat.

    The baitfish population thanks you.
  11. Usually nicks are from wire. Perhaps you had your rig get tangled with another? The other possibility is the fish swam forward after hitting your rig, got the line tangled in the main line ahead of the flasher or the other wire rig before tripping the release. I caught a steelhead on Erie Sunday that showed itself by jumping behind the boat. The problem was it swam ahead and stayed ahead. We knew we had a fish on but no way of telling which rod. Three minutes later the outside board moves back.
  12. I agree with Vince, you need to examine some stomach contents yourself. Let me know when you are ready.

I won’t take my boat there either. Those gaps in the concrete are going to pop someone’s tires. My brother has cottage down there so he gets the season pass. Not sure what they charge to use the fish cleaning table. Nice set up for fish cleaning though
  14. Yes, I think that is right. I put the surgical tubing on the release arm. With the line through the tubing, the line is probably protected as it passes through the housing to the other side. I probably should have read the directions better lol.
  15. Doesn’t Suzuki make the Mercury engines? If so, I would think any Merc dealer could help.

Thanks. With the 10’s of millions of walleye in the system, nobody should be shy about posting a report. Lots of fish for everyone when they get here. I don’t think they have reached the Catt in any numbers as we noticed there were only 4 boat trailers in the Hanover lot when we stopped in to the fish cleaning station.
