  1. I am pretty sure I have been epigenetically altered to preferably fish for salmon.

  3. I don’t think any scientist worth their salt doesn’t think genetics doesn’t play a role in traits. Not sure why our fish managers are fighting this. It is a very easy policy/workflow to create and follow during egg collecting time at Altmar …don’t take eggs or sperm from fish under 17 lbs. Done. This follows the stated policy of lake managers to manage Lake Ontario for a trophy fishery. They are not following their own stated objectives by milking two year olds.
  4. Theory says more bait, less predators = bigger predators
  5. It’s about time you got to Erie this year!!
  6. If I was fishing this time of year the first place I would look for staging fish would be 80-120’ off microwave tower. If cold water pushes in, look shallower. If East wind comes a calling, look for duck weed aggregations West of port. The pen reared fish will be looking for home water smell - hence looking for duckweed. Active biting fish are hit or miss in bath water so a good first place to start is where cool water intersects with bottom.
  7. This is the rig I have been looking at to replace my fiberglass boat. I would love to hear your opinion/experiences on the 2250. Feel free to PM me if you would prefer. Nice rig!
  8. Anyone hunting the southern tier, you will find wide differences this year with local food sources place to place. Some blocks have everything…apples, acorns, beech, hickory, and some will have none. Do your due diligence this year! Lots of bear sign.
  9. Tons of fish off the Catt still. From the shoal out front 48’ out 72’. Everyone is catching. We fished the shoal for more sporty fight. Three way rigs and downriggers with small worm harnesses. Two man limit in 1.25 hrs. Lots of bait in upper water levels with hooks down around 20’ that we didn’t even bother with. Plenty of meat on that bone. Get out there!
  10. Why didn’t you drive the fish downstream back to the lake to keep the good times rolling???👍
  11. Both lakes have flipped. Looks like Erie is rebounding today
  12. Nice ride! Your friend probably came to the same conclusion, the same way I did ….while on my back putting new bottom coat on my boat. I am getting too old for maintaining a fiberglass boat. I will be putting my Bayliner up for sale at some point next year after I have fully broken in my new motor. Going aluminum multi-species with an outboard.
  13. You need to go fishing
  14. I think if you wanted to help him out, you would put the link up to the website where the boat is listed.
  15. There is cool water inside. Boats are trying inside early for staging fish then jetting offshore to fill their box.
  16. Gator, the cold water season has walleyes fighting better. That being said they have the same tactic as lake trout when hooked trolling- open mouth to deploy air bags.
  17. Let’s go Rob, start the 2025 thread. First three shots of the year. The beauty of a hindsight- pick up the bow at any time and just aim it like open sights on a gun. No long hours of practice to get in a groove.
  18. Thanks for clarifying that Jeremy.

  21. Mini rollover has happened. There is a massive fish kill happening. Sheepshead dead or dying in the ten’s of thousands. Really freaky. Seagulls have plucked the eyes out of fish still alive making an army of zombie sheep. With O 2 levels bad, walleye have left the shoal off the Catt. Boats are way offshore to find good water. After graphing no fish on the shoal we decided that the only place with good O2 would be near inshore weeds. We fished along the point off Hanover Bay in 8-12’. It was as an absolute clinic on bass plus two bonus walleye, one mega perch and some sheep on blade baits. Fish out deep got pushed super shallow due to rollover. Everything got condensed

  23. I have not tried the Cudas. The heaviest I have used is the “musky” size.
  24. Not sure what model she is but she sure rides nice.
  25. The Reelin’ for a cure Captain’s meeting is the same night. Any chance this may need to be rescheduled?
