  1. It is hard to read on the tag Brian but I believe it says to call in the color of Gambler rig used to catch it.
  2. Thanks for the read. To help shape the conversation about rainbows and browns in the finger lakes, they were stocked, not native. Some of the anger directed towards walleye in favor of trout is curious.
  3. I don’t see a conflict. Walleyes are essentially a big perch that will probably feed mostly on gobies and sculpin.
  4. Agreed! The Boat Doctor’s have a great selection of tackle.
  5. Deer will eat the hell out of them in their infancy. Place them in full sun and place fencing around them.
  6. I think the study said the opposite. More bait means fish will be more likely to mature earlier.
  7. Glen, I don’t disagree with you about more two year olds maturing lately but the majority of this thread was a discussion on how the top end weights of three and four year old kings has diminished. Are you seeing smaller 3 or 4 year olds in the river or are we all just being outsmarted?
  8. I wonder since king stocking has all but stopped on Lake Superior and Lake Huron, kings in Lake Michigan have bait to chase in three lakes if they want to go roaming. Lake Ontario kings are stuck.
  9. Dock fishing for largemouth and awesome carp fishing= port bay.
  10. Then there is this. https://www.wivb.com/news/investigates/forever-chemicals-buffalo-sewer-urged-to-stop-treating-landfill-wastewater/amp/ these legacy chemicals that have been shown to effect hormonal activity could be to blame for two year old kings reach maturity at a younger age. We are at the end of the waste stream. Michigan water is cleaner.
  11. Evolving kings No emeralds to jump start shakers Artificial selection at Altmar Bigs in rivers more likely to get snagged Better fishing fleet Internet fishing reports Less older class alewives Spin Doctors and UV spoon tape
  12. Ok, it was me. I did it. I was the red boat.
  13. No worries, he only lost a couple of Gary D rigs and we all know those don’t catch fish.
  14. What was the state of health of the king? By the look of things, that flasher was dragging bottom for awhile. He probably got into your spread to take a look and got the rig snagged. Better to be lucky than good.
  15. These cases can be avoided sometimes by usage of an air horn. It is loud and gets their attention.
  16. Yes, Dr Weidel’s alewife assessment for the year is now complete.
  17. We had a really good bite offshore today. Kings, cohos and steelhead.
  18. The down current was pushing out last weekend. That is why it was cold in there. New day tomorrow
  19. You failed to make Detective. It’s in the thread title. The green can is off the Niagara near the mouth.
  20. X2. Debris fields are visual “tells” that indicate an area of current wadded up a bunch of stuff and shoved it up against the bank. Bait and plankton gets pushed by those same currents. As stated, if debris is too thick, fish the edges. If just feathers and driftwood, go through it. Usually fish are up high and feeding in those areas
