My old boat had an older 75 Evinrude and that thing would troll all day long and never gave me issues when the time came to throttle up and run back in. I ran her at a 50:1 mix. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have a (2) battery system on my Islander. One is a dedicated starting battery, while the second one handles all the electronics and other miscellaneous items on the boat. I have them isolated through a heavy-duty solenoid which energizes when the main engine is running, thus charging both batteries. When I shut the main engine down, the solenoid opens, isolating both batteries and ensuring the main battery will always have enough juice to start the main engine. With the main engine off, all accessories and electronics are pulling solely off the secondary battery. I have a Group-27 for the secondary battery and it'll go a good portion of the day running the chartplotter, VHF radio, depth finder and downriggers before it shows signs it needs to be charged up. I have Traxstech all around my Islander. I have (2) Cannon downriggers, (2) net holders and (6) adjustable rod holders as part of my system. Looking to add some more tracks in the spring. I'll try and find some pics. Boat is all wrapped up in storage right now. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

When I needed a replacement canvas for my 221 Islander, I took a shot and called my local Starcraft dealer. They were able to get a complete package, which included the top, rear drop down, aft and side windows for a pretty reasonable price compared to other canvas shops in my area. I paid less for the Starcraft kit than the least expensive canvas shop's quote. The dealer called me 3 weeks later to say the kit was in and ready for pickup. Sold / Closed (4) Daiwa Sealine Great Lakes 47LC line counter reels
Misty IV posted a topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
I have decided to upgrade my downrigger rod reels and am offering my Daiwa Sealine Great Lakes 47LCs. They have been very reliable and have cranked in a ton of fish over the years. All (4) were spooled in the spring with fresh 30lb Ande green line and there is between 800-900 feet on each reel. The line goes with the reels. Asking $100 for all (4). I will handle the shipping cost to you. Thanks! Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Deals are out there. I picked up a 6hp Johnson 2-stroke from a guy this summer for $200. Thing is super clean, starts right up and came with a 6-gallon tank and the fuel line. Found it on Craigslist. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I'll never go on the lake again without my kicker. I took it off one weekend to do some work to it back home, but didn't get the kicker completed before I came back to the lake. Took the boat out without the kicker and the main engine died coming back in late afternoon. Wouldn't restart. I had to call for help and be towed in from about 5 miles out. Kicker would have saved the day. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Mexico Point boat ramp. 5/6
Misty IV replied to spoonfed-1's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
I got word yesterday that they closed the launch. Not good, especially seeing the projections from Plan 2014 that the lake is due to rise another 10 inches through June and not fall below 247' until September. Anyone seen Pine Grove launch, by chance? If Mexico is this bad, I'm sure Pine Grove is under water by now. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

I'm upgrading my electronics this season and am selling my existing units. Raytheon RC 425 chartplotter with all cables and wiring. Raystar 120 GPS antenna included, along with the mounting bracket for the chartplotter. Unit has an SD slot for the chart card, but no card is included. New internal battery installed by Raymarine (3) years ago. Asking $125 for everything and I will ship for free. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have (2) batteries on my Islander. Group-24 as the starting battery for the main engine. I have a Group-27 deep cycle which powers ALL my electronics (GPS, VHF radio, fish finder, AM/FM radio and downriggers). Both batteries are connected to the main engine through an isolator which charges both batteries when the engine is running. I have a switch at the dash which allows me to engage or disengage the isolator should I need to. I did this so my main engine battery is always isolated from all electronic devices and any parasitic draw. Guarantees the main battery always has enough juice to fire up the main engine. I've been running this system since 2005 and just replaced the 24 last year and the 27 in 2014. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
