DIY Alaska Moose Hunt My dad and I just got back from a DIY moose hunt in the Yukon Delta on the westside of Alaska. Had a great trip, the area we got dropped off in was loaded with moose. I called in over 15 different bulls and we each killed a bull. Found a couple great bulls 60 inch plus but way to far from water or camp to kill. Having to pack it out on the bone on your back in swamp and tundra limits your carrying distance. Had some wolfs near camp on day one but with the no hunting on the same day you fly in rule they got a pass. Killed my bull from camp across the lake at 700 yards with my 338 Edge and called my dad's right into camp which made for a nice and easy packing job. We had bulls walk into camp almost every night which will get your attention when they start grunting and destroying trees. LOL. Was an awesome trip, hard work but we'll worth it.

Not sure but I'd start with H4350 and 168 grain Berger VLD. If you stick with the Noslers I'd still use the H4350.

Starting the year off with a speed goat My daughter Sierra drew a New Mexico antelope tag so we started off our hunting season this year with a trip out west. Found a great goat the first day and she got the job done at 400 yds with her 300 win mag. Was not an easy shot off sticks standing up in a cross wind, but she made her windage and elivation corrections as I called them out. Have some more great hunting to do over the next three months with the girls so more to follow. Sean

Your release needs to be on your rigger cable/line not the ball. When you load up your rigger rod if the release is on the ball you will change the way your rigger ball travels and get a royal mess. If you tried sliding another release down the cable while moving it will never reach the bottom with a line attached to it. When your rigger is up and the ball is just under the surface you want your release where you can get to it without the ball breaking the surface protects your boat and riggers.

LOL if the Ontario kings tasted like copper river kings there wouldn't be a king left in Ontario.

Nice job Nick! Sorry about your grandfather, let me know if you need anything. Sean

Make it easy run two colors black and green. For some reason green always beat out the clear on my boat. With two colors always run the same color off the same side of boat. That way when your rushing you never have to worry if you put the diver out on the correct side.

Had two of my girls out set up the same on a corn stubble field. Set up with to much cover behind us had the two big birds I've been watching come in ten yards behind us. They put on an awesome show for the kids then a big old hen led them off. Will be set up a little different tomorrow. Had at least 8 different birds going on the roost but those birds aren't going to play now. Good luck to everyone my kids had a blast. Sean

Not much you can do with two different brands but if you have two or three of the same units like lowrance you can Network them together and not worry about a thing

It's wide open but lake is a good two ft low. Sean

Cost me probably closer to 6k but that's all air. Including camp rental and the bush flights out of bethel 100 plus miles into back country. These guys put you right ontop of them also includes raft and motor. Dam better than 18k for an Outfitter.
