I have a Yamaha T9.9 XPA on a 27 Sportcraft and it works well. Will push at 5 mph top speed. It is about 5 years old, no problems at all. If I were looking today I would consider Suzuki as they have a fuel injected T9.9. Would rather avoid carburetors now. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

1st timer to Oswego
lrg355 replied to bubby1kanobie's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Fished Oswego Sunday. A few boats out. Talked to people pulling out about 3pm. Some had one or two like me, some had none. River is complete mud with lots of debris. Complete muddy water from the river about 2 miles east. Started to clear at that point. Fished 5 hours got a 4 lb and a w lb. Tried by the Salmon river on Monday. Lots of ice chunks made it difficult. 1 small brown for 3 hours. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

There is a neighbors cottage down the road from me on Sandy Pond. 3BR 2bath with dock on the Pond for $800/wk last year. PM me if interested and I will forward phone #. -
I would think the word "Duplicate" would mean if you need a replacement because the original is lost. Hopefully the fee to transfer would be the same.

I don't know about online. At DMV office you will leave with everything you need to be on the water immediately. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have transferred 2 boats and a PWC from Pa to NY reg. The last one was about 7 years ago. I had owned all for 5 years or longer before transfer. Never paid any additional sales taxes at the DMV office in Pulaski. I remember filling out a form stating that I had them a certain amount of time and had previously paid sales tax in the previously registered state. Maybe the rules have changed lately. Easy to check by interested parties by asking at the office.

My NY boat registration cards have my Pa address on them. Also, When going to the DMV office in Pulaski, you need multiple forms of personal ID. I forget how the system works for ID, but a Passport is best along with a valid drivers license and some other photo ID. Fill out the forms and Pay, Pay and they will be happy to re-reg in NY. No need other baloney.USPS change of address, ETC, ETC. Just $$$

I am in the same situation as you with a cottage on Sandy Pond. Taxes are unbearable but I put up with it or sit home. I have 3 boats , 2 used for fishing and they are registered in NY. I know they are supposed to be. The trailers are however, registered in PA because it is much cheaper. NY wants $80+ trailer reg for my 27 ft Sportcraft trailer. Unreasonable. $6 in Pa. I have a pontoon bought in Pa and as soon as the current reg is up I will transfer to NY. It is in fact true that the regs say the BOAT should be registered where it is used most. Trailer reg in NY is $5.39 per 500lbs so for a 8500gvw trailer it is $91.63. Sort of like the NY property taxes. Reg in Pa up to 3000 gvw $6. 3001 to 10000 gvw $12 It is very easy to register a boat in NY if you are not a resident. Go to the DMV office in Pulaski with your title, Pay plenty of $$ and they will re-register in NY. No sales tax because you already own it. Lots of fees though. Paperwork and renewal will come to your Pa address. Many years ago Pa did not do boat titles. Then your latest Owners Registration Card will suffice. I had that happen on one boat. Registered a few more also.

What to do? Need advice
lrg355 replied to albobarhop's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Well, if you had the proper Lowrance unit, the autopilot would directly interface with it. With the older outboard, you would not be able to display engine data via NEMA 2000 network.. The are many videos on youtube showing the capabilities of the autopilot. -

Hydraulic steering on an outboard is a sweet setup with the Lowrance Autopilot which integrates nicely with the HDS gen 2 or higher units. I recently bought one for about $850 and also bought a hydraulic steering system for my spring brown boat. Will be using it this spring for the first time. Lowrance is a division of Simrad so the unit is similar. Been on a boat with one and it is exceptional. I already have a HDS touch gen 2 and have the Yamaha engine data displayed on it. -
To figure it out you need to know the diameter of the piston and its stroke (travel). If you can find out that info it is easy. Volume of the cylinder would be (pi) 3.1416 x radius squared x stroke. Sorry but I don't have scientific abbreviations on this keyboard. For example, if the cylinder diameter is 1 inch and the stroke is 10 inches then: Radius is .5 inch so 3.1416 x (.5 x.5) x 10 to continue .5 x.5 is radius squared which is .25. So 3.1416 x .25 x 10 = 10.785 cubic inches. To prove it on a very common volume that everyone hears about, Take a 350 cubic inch Chevy engine has a 4 inch bore and a 3.48 inch stroke. So 3.1416 x 2 squared x 3.48 is the volume of each cylinder. 3.1416 x 2 x 2 x 3.38 = 43.731 cu in per cylinder. but there are 8 cylinders so 43.371 x 8 = 349.848 cu inches. Chevy rounds it off to 350. To convert to cc (cubic centimeters), multiply cu in x 16.387. So 350 cu in x 16.387 cc = 5735.45 cc or 5.73545 liters and again they round it off to 5.7 liters. Of course you can do the total calculation in cc's if that is the data you have Len
