  1. I know low HP Mercury's were made by Yamaha in the late 90's and early 2000's. I believe they are not anymore. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. I put a Yamaha F70LA on my Sea Nymph GLS 175 about two years ago. It weighs 257 lbs. Is the lightest engine in that range, 2 or 4 stroke. Running gauges from my Lowrance HDS touch. Boat previously had a 115 Johnson. It was a rocket but just got tired of the smoke, hard starting and fuel consumption. The Yammy runs all day on fumes. Fuel consumption according to the Lowrance is 9-10 mpg at best cruise about 4000 rpm. Probably get a about 20 mpg trolling. Also hooked into the troll control with a switch. Can go up or down in 50 rpm increments from 600 to 0 1200 rpm. No more carburetors for me. EFI all the way. Touch the key and it runs. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Fished this morn 90-120 ft out from catfish to high rocks till 11am. 2 for 3 biggest 27 lbs
  4. No winners yet Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Quite east of Oswego no weight attached. Broken cable below. Long rigger cable attached. Must name what was different about rigger cable clip. Not in photo Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Picture of retrieved probe Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Hooked this probe while dragging bottom. If you can identify location and distinguishing characteristic about clip to cable, you can have it back. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Read that a spray or 1 part water 1 part vinegar and 1 part dawn dish liquid works. Tried it on the boat and it works for a short while. Smells terrible but at least it is non toxic Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Velvet drive Trans are used on inboard drives only. I have one with a 300hp Mercruiser 5.7 inboard on a 27 Sportcraft. Very robust and trouble free . Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. You would be much better off launching at the State ramp on the Little Salmom River. (Mexico). The state ramp on the Salmon River called Pine Grove is not very good (dirt), although it would be OK for a 18 ft alum. Price is the same at both, pay the machine.
  11. If you plan to interface to your motor or other devices and possibly get the Lowrance autopilot in the future, the HDS gen2 or 3 is the best choice. I have mine displaying all engine functions on the screen and plan to soon get autopilot and hydraulic steering. Need a later model outboard that is nema 2000 compatible to do this. Really nice. 12. Also any Honda 9.9 without a serial # trying to be sold or serviced should get attention by all members.
  13. If you know the serial # of the Honda, you should post it and all members can keep an eye out. It may be noticed somewhere.
  14. I have two female rod end bearings with a piece of stainless threaded rod between. Inexpensive and can make any necessary length with some final adjustment. McMaster Carr has them. Can do it for about $30
  15. Always seems to be bullhead fisherman where Little Sandy Creek enters Sandy Pond. This is just a few hundred yards in from the left turn off RT 3 near the Church Mouse. I have never fished here but it seems there are always night fisherman there in late April.
  16. I have 4 of them I bought used about 12 years ago. $900 for all from someone that thought they were too complicated. Run well. Had one display go last year. I like the fact that I can progam the depth and let it run down while I am doing something else. They also have the timed up and down cycling within a set distance like 10 ft or so. use it sometimes but never really noticed a improvement in releases. Retrieve is auto stop but it is not a short stop that detects disconnect of cable from water, it is an actual count up of pulley rotation.
  17. Looks like in front of the removed docks at the Mexico launch? Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Meant to say "hall effect" device Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Pertronix kit has a small module that goes in the distributor and a pickup for the fall effect device. It all fits in the original distributor. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. 89 OMC Cobra's had points. I had one. Replaced with Pertronix ignition and their flamethrower coil. Worked great. That 5.7 would have a Prestolite distributor and kits are available Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. If you look into zinc in fresh water, you will find they do not work well. It is rare to see them erode. Magnesium is best but there are aluminum types that work well also. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Very good looking. Please assign the pics a number or ID so it is easy to place an order Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I have the HDS 7 gen 2 touch on both my boats. On the 18 alum I use in the spring and for walleye, the structure scan is useful. On my 27 used on the lake only, the structure scan is not of much use. Overall. They are very goog. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. I have a 93. GLS 175 and it has an alumni floor except for the gas tank cover with is plywood. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
