  1. I have some of the same NK spoons but without the ladder back tape. The tape may have been put on. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. There are usually a single or more anodes mounted on the out drive or outboard motor transom bracket that will be under water even when the motor or drive itself is trimmed fully and out of the water and much as possible. If you buy a full magnesium kit they will be included. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. It seems not much people know that zinc anodes are not of much value in fresh water. They are recommended for salt water. Aluminum anodes are a bit better in fresh water but are recommended for brackish water. Magnesium anodes are best for fresh water issues. They are available for most out drives and outboards. 4. If you just want something for the kicker, get the Lowrance hydraulic outboard pilot and just buy a hydraulic cylinder instead of the complete hydraulic steering system. Put the cylinder in the steering tube of your kicker and hook up the lowrance outboard pilot to it without an actual steering wheel (pump). Should work well. 5. Lowrance makes both a mechanical drive and hydraulic system. The mechanical for rack and pinion is a bit more expensive. Both need a HDS gen 2 or later system. The hook and elite and some others wont work. The HDS Carbon and Live will work. The Hds Carbon 7 can be bought for $800 on line now. I have good luck with a hydraulic outboard pilot and a HDS gen 2 touch for about 3 years now. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. When I was at my cottage on the pond I believe the water was as high as it had been in 2017 and going higher. Way over my docks. I fished sat in the pond sat and did well around rocky areas. The fish were not in their normal areas for this time of year due to water temp. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Been through there numerous times this year. No problem getting out. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Launched there yesterday at 5am. Water was 2 in. from top of wall. Pulled out at 11 after slow, slow morn. Water was 2 in. over wall. Park workers were removing benches and tables from underwater. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. The problem is that they will probably close everything soon as was done in 2017. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Pine grove is also open but boots are needed to cross the walkway to the dock Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Still open and useable at Mexico Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Have a 100hp merc. Probably 90's. Lower compression on 1 cyl. 100 bucks Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Read the Lowrance specs on the Elite series carefully. I believe it will only control the motor guide trolling motors but NOT the outboard autopilots. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Interested if still available Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Not to change the subject but how do you like the motorguide xi5? I am thinking about one soon. I have Lowrance electronics so it will communicate. From what I read, seem to be a better unit than comparable minn kota Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Where are you located Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. The connector is there on all fuel injected models that have a tiller model option even if yours is not a tiller model. I know that is to 115 hp possibly even to 150. Anything larger will require command control setup. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Don't need the full Yamaha command setup to do this. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I have a 2014 Yamaha F70 and I hooked up a double pole double throw switch to the connector for variable troll switch (VTS). 50 rpm increments from 600 to 1000 per pulse up or down. Yamaha now offers the switch as a kit also. Must have a later model motor to do this Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Forgot to mention only weighs about 3 lbs Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. I keep this on board. 69 bucks at walmart. Charges from phone adapter (ac) or from USB in car. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. That was a friends motor and the peacocks were left out. The mud trapped some water causing the crack. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. A few years ago a friend of mine pulled the block and manifold plugs on a 5.0. He had a slip in a muddy area. Water did drain but there was some trapped in mud and that resulted in a cracked block in the spring. A valuable lesson for me. Since then, I always remove the plugs and blow compressed air in the holes with a tube and a rubber seal at the end. Usually more water and debris drains. Also always remove the hose at the water pump. I had a 4.3. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Blacks also. Must change them every year. A few years ago I had one wear and break at the bottom curve and lost a 14 lb weight. Good thing it wasn't on the probe side. Chamberlain has a good stacker I use. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. I am assuming it has a hydraulicly actuated rudder for steering. If it does there is an interesting way to hook up an autopilot that runs both the main steering and the kicker. I had a setup on a 27 single inboard. I ran a steering cable from the rudder arm around to the steering tube on a T9.9 Yamaha. The kicker was turned by the rudder so any autopilot ( mine was a Raymarine) that turned the rudder arm Cylinder would also turn the kicker. Worked great. The steering cable had a special end to hook a rod end bearing to the rudder. Got it at Salmon Country in Mexico. Was about 200 $ for the cable. If I had to do it over again I would modify a standard cable on the drive end and save 150 bucks. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
