  3. Bat 1 to bat 1 term on switch, bat 2 to bat 2 on switch, all positive on boat to output of switch EXCEPT supply to automatic side of bilge pump. That goes directly to a battery. That is in case you turn off the switch the auto side of the pump continues to work. If you can't fit all pos to the output of the switch neatly, run a red battery cable to a suitable buss and hook all pos there. ALL neg can go to a single, neat negative buss. 4. Wd40 is ok in a pinch but the best penetrating oil in the industry is In the picture. Let it set a long time. PB blaster would be my second choice if I didn't have the 1st choice Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Take a look at a company called Oceansouth. They have a stainless one for up by to 96 in beam for a very low price of about 150. Seen it as low as $127. Seems too good to be true. Look at the boats for sale in this forum and there was a Trophy 2052 that was sold a few weeks ago with one on it. It comes with 6 rod holders but you can add more as the Trophy shows 8. 6. Don't forget about Sylvan, that is part of the group. A few years ago I was looking into buying a used Starcraft. They wanted $500 to transfer the warranty to a new owner for a two year old boat. Didn't buy it, crazy company. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. I have a Sea Nymph GLS 175 with a 70 hp Yamaha 4 stroke. I use it for early spring browns. Also use it heavily for bass and walleye on Sandy Pond. Last year I put on a Motor Guide XI3 which is functionally the same as a Minnkota terrova. It is a 52lb.54 shaft 12v that was on sale at Cabellas. Paid $949 and got a 50 rebate on top so final cost $900. I use it as an autopilot for spring browns with the main motor pushing and the XI3 steering the course on low power. Easily gets about 5 hrs out of a good battery doing that but I keep two on board. Has the "anchor"function that works great for bass on a windy day. 8. Blisters are caused by osmosis which is the water seeping through the gelcoat. Had a few boats that did that because the gelcoat is not completely non porous. Happens mostly if boat is at a slip all season. Newer boats went to forms of vinylester topcoat which is much better but its drawback is that it is very brittle and cracks easily. I had seen a marina up near Chaumont Bay that bottom coats boats with a very heavy coat of black material that looked similar to truck bed liner but with a glossy finish. Seemed to be about 1/8 thick. If I were looking for a bottom coat that would be the one. Cant remember the name of the marina, but Martin's sort of rings a bell. Great boat for lake O. I have the same thing. Runs great in heavy waves for its size. Looks like you have solved my only complaint, the fishboxes filling with water. Any info on the fishbox seals would be appreciated. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  14. Works great. Problem is I have it on a 21 ft walkaround and I mostly fish alone. Going out to the pulpit area to deploy in 3 to 4 footers is a bit dangerous. Dont need to be taking chances like that at this age. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  16. Minnkota I Pilot Terrova US2 (Universal Sonar Head), 36 volt 112 lb 72 in shaft (6ft) with quick release bracket, Minnkota 3 bank charger, 3 batteries and battery trays, Ram mount to stabilize head, all documentation and system circuit breaker. System was used very little. As pictures show, essentially new condition, not a scratch on it. Is installed on a walk around cuddy. At 67 years old it is a bit much for me to deploy in 3 ft or higher waves. $2000 Firm Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Wanted to buy, factory or OEM hardtop to fit a 2001 Trophy Walkaround model 2052. a hardtop froma 2002, 2102 or 2152 will work also. Call 570-five74-four733
  18. I had a good one made about 20 years ago for my sea nymph. Made from Pacific Blue Sunbrella. Never regretted it. About 10 years ago I put it inside the boat when storing the boat for the winter with a large truck cover with special frame. Laying inside the boat, the mice decided that it was a nice nesting material and chewed holes in it. I patched em and I am still using it today. Getting a bit dry rotted now and will need replacement soon. Moral of the story, store it in a sealed container when not in use. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. If you are redoing the floor look into the Greenwood Industries Marine XL plywood or the Sherwood Redek XL. This is the stuff used on modern pontoon boats that is treated and is compatable with alum. Supposedly a lifetime warranty. Overtones and Gander Outdoors has it listed for about $102 for a 3/4 x 4ft x 8 1/2 sheet. Just by the sheet dimensions it appears to be targeted for marine use. Probably the stuff used by Smokercraft now. They also make Starcraft and Sylvan. I have a 2003 Smokercraft Ultima 192 and a 2013 Sylvan Pontoon. Both have lifetime warrantys on their treated floors. 20. Should also mention that since it is a alum boat with a wooden transom core, you should also put a 1/4 x 2 in alum bar on each side on the inside. Tap the holes for the 3/8 bolts if possible And put nuts on the bolts over the alum bars to lock all. Use the nylok type nuts and plenty of 3M 5200. 21. All the above comments are basically true. If you want to give it another try I would do the following: The bolt that ripped out was too far down creating a large "moment" that caused the failure. The bolts should be at least 3/ 8 dia with another one added about 3/4 from the top. 3 per side. The ss angle appears to be bending so I would recommend alum bar at least 1/4 thick and as wide as the ss angle half that touches the transom to be placed over each side before the bolts are placed thru. The bracket still is a bit light for the application but that is your call. This recommendation is from a mechanical engineer with 43 years of machine design and structural analysis experience. 22. My neighbor bought an 89 Sea Nymph 195 with a 100hp Merc. Nothing but problems. Wanted to troll with it, that was a joke. Was going to put on a kicker. I suggested that the 2 stroke merc was not to be relied upon to be 7 or so miles offshore. Always missing, hard to start, etc I suggested that he put on a new 4 stroke and forget about the kicker. He bought a new 90 Yamaha V Max four stroke. Fantastic motor, does everything and he never looked back. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  25. It is most likely a scam. Saw a nice rig supposedly located in Lockport, NY. Saw the same add in the Cleveland Craigslist but said the boat was located in Helena, Montana. All scams!! Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
