  1. Caught this thread late but where do you go up in Maine? Any suggestions appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Have you ever tried for Browns? Shallower water and love structure. Just curious.
  3. We're the guys in the bay perch fishing. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Dan, Very nice job on video. I was in the TV business for many years and watched some amazing videographers and did some outdoor stuff too. Looks like school and practice are paying off. I'm in digital marketing world now and video is it and will be for a long time. Good Luck!
  5. Gambler, Can you share the program you were working with on those browns?
  6. I second or third the windfinder app. As someone that used to be in the business, it's the best that I have found. Make sure you choose a location where you plan to go out. Don't use your house location and locations can have varying wind too.
  7. My guess is the the temp break was over a 100ft? Monday we have perfect 50 degrees down 75-80 and following night was well over 100ft.
  8. 220-240ft and riggers were 90-100ft and wires were out 220-250.
  9. Bear Creek 7/10 Evening Late first trip of the year but was the best evening I've had in years. 7 for 10 in two hours of fishing. Everything worked. Kings, steelhead, and cohos. Fish look very healthy this year and strong. Get out there!
  10. Not to say I'm glad to hear it was slow there but had a crew from s tier on the boat and got skunked. Marked them from 70-120 in front of Ginna but didn't move a rod. Meat, f/f, spoons. Another boat with us did the same. Blah. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. How are the waves with south wind out there. I have a guy that sea sick. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. Not to beat a dead horse but went back to the buoy today. Here's some pics with one to give a perspective of shore and Ginna. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. I fished yesterday evening and thought about that as I heard a speed boat going by after dark. Btw here's a king from last night. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. Is this the standard for them to use mooring buoys and wouldn't they need to have some light for night. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Trolled just west of Ginna and on my way in found a mooring buoy and blue bumper locked to the bottom. Normally not a big deal but was in 73ft. Also noticed a large mound underneath on FF 20-30 ft high. I would think a marker that far out should be much higher than a mooring buoy and would love to know if anyone has any info. Btw, marked them but no takers 100-150 off Bear Creek. We'll be out this evening.
  16. Finally good evening off the creek. Consistent action from 6-8 and ended up 2/6. Doubled early and lost a big major with jaw meat hanging from the fly. Had fish and hits on mag carbon 14, meat, and f/f. Down temps were wild at times from 49 to 65 in a short distance. Fish were 70-100 but hits only in that 49-55 degree water. 17. Thanks Joe. The currents have been brutal at times so I've struggled to fish fast since the riggers look like they're skiing behind boat. I have 12lb torpedos and feel like I need to move up in weight. I'll speed it up anyway and give a go.
  18. how about you coming fishing with a professional like me!
  19. What was the down temp and out of curiosity if your were doing 2.8 at the ball Joe what was your surface speed. I use a depth raider and 2.8 might be 4 at the surface. That seems really fast so perhaps my probe is misreading.
  20. Greenhornet73, these are two sites I use that are easy to set up. Windfinder has an app too. The other takes a little while getting used to. I can say from experience since I used to do this for a living that forecasting winds is very tricky on the lakes. There are synoptic (large) and meso (small) scale factors going on at the same time which can wreak havoc on weather models thus making future predictions difficult. Last as we all know the lake can change quickly due to the vast open plain. Hope this helps. https://www.windfinder.com/ https://www.windyty.com/
  21. Out of curiosity, what was the temperature you were hitting the browns at in that 70-80 water?
