  1. a couple boats ago my wife was getting tired of wet feet and wrote "plug in?" on the transom with a sharpie. my boats have all been "plug in?'' since and i never sink at the launch anymore
  2. only 13 hours left and the bottle and i are in the lead! not the best timing as i got RAPED at men's wharehouse today on a suit i needed for a funeral. oh well,my father told me the last check you ever write should be to your undertaker ann it should bounce.
  3. buy some wood dowels larger than the hole to be repaired. drill the hole to the dowel size then pack the hole with marine epoxy, coat the dowel with the same epoxy, tap it in and coat both sides with more epoxy. works good. a couple bourbons makes it easier than a couple beers.
  4. they were 99.99 so i bid 150 and was outbid instantly. wow! i'll have another drink and think it over.
  5. goin to bed now and still winning this auction. go ravens. lucky dorks. next year it's all bills.
  6. can't believe flacco looks this good 3 games in a row. maybe the niners can come back but i've had a few and won't turn in behind on this auction.
  7. i never target walleye but i know of some fish that do,so i like to keep tabs on the walleye guys. i'll read it wherever it ends up. this time of year i even read the trout stuff.
  8. but remember...if the niners win they will have as many wins as the stillers with no losses...not good;go ravens.
  9. i got tom gelb's book,"muskie stategies" for christmas and i read it twice. pretty good read. who wants it? first address posted gets it mailed to 'em.
  10. merry christmas to all and to all a good night.
  11. mercury 2 4 c with teflon. best lubricant ever.
  12. that fish was caught on barbless hooks and swam off strong. bite me,cya never, old man out.
  13. if you go to you tube and search "really big musky chatauqua lake ny" you will find a video by kevin breen of a 50" musky we caught last week. he calls it 45 lbs;more like 35
  14. thanks. here's a better pic of the fish. one of my other sons has a nice video of the net job. i'll try to get him to post it
  15. thanks,Larry, but i'm back home. we were just there on an overnight.
  16. my son,Adam, got his first last night;a nice one too. there were four of us in the boat. i have three musky rods so naturally the one using the 25 dollar spinning rod got bit. I did have it spooled with 50lb braid, thank god. It was quite a battle but we managed to boat her. We were at Lighthouse point over 13fow at 5:30 pm. He was throwing a 3" gold redeye. Despite the long fight the fish swam off instantly and fast. We fished some more this morning but it was slow, two follows,no takers. Water still murkey,53 degrees.
  17. you can catch some pike there this time of year around the yacht club mooring area. close to the city pier is good too. best bet is launch at severine pt. fish the dropoff there north to the next point. good numbers of stout pickles there as well. spoons are best for seneca pike;redeyes, johnsons, docktors, suttons.
  18. i loaded my boat at cedar point a week earlier;it was tough. 'bout 8" of water there. i got out and walked my boat to the trailer. downtown launch at clayton and kewaydin were still good.
  19. try the bay at the launch;lotta fish there some days. then go straight to the other side and work the weed edge north. you'll come up on a big white house that says "kosakas" on the breakwall. get inside the 3 hazard bouys there and you'll find a small cabbage patch in 3 or 4fow. usually get bit there.
  20. even after the docks are out i can get in and out alone with my 18ft boat. if someone is with you it's no problem.
  21. i was up there two weeks ago and got shut out again. i did hook one on a bondy near blanket island near bottom in 25fow. i saw one boated by trollers near whisky island. i don't know what they were using but there were no riggers on the boat and i worked that spot over pretty good after they left. it was 35fow. good luck.
  22. yeah,i put in by the causeway. it's too far to drag a canoe through the park, plus that little bay there has no water in it
