  1. does anyone know the last time it was dredged? Im wondering if it would stay in its current condition or one day be completely land locked
  2. thanks for the info, but as it stands im undecided as ever. I love that bay, reminds me alot of being up north exspecialy compared to anything else thats close to here.
  3. The future wife and i have looked at a few places on the water. Im worried about getting out of the channel after shelling out every dam penny i ever earned and borrowing 3x more. I would expect not to be able to get out of there right now in the current 20ft boat (21ft with the swim deck after nov 1) this summer i put in over there the weekend of the air show and i think it was about 2 1/2. does anyone know right now how deep it is? Would i be able to get the 20ft out of there all summer? im thinking i would. Family owns a 26 foot pennyan up in henderson, when i upgrade it might be this boat , im sure IT could go anywhere the 20fter could. And what about if theres 4ft rollers out on the big O?, do i have to ride a wave in, or does it calm before getting to the so called channel? Im really not into trying to ride a 26 foot twin screw like a surf board, not saying i cant, dont want to, those props are expensive. Any info on this would be helpfull.
  4. Thanks for all your info, I really think im going to wait now till the bigger boat is in the picture. Ive wanted to upgrade and will but i dont know if it will be this new season or not, iif i get one custom, i dont think i would ever get my money back out of it
  5. does the after market swim platform count????? i would be good then. how about the booms on the riggers???
  6. Chris- I also have a 3.7 and replaced the starter myself this year. If you look on line there pretty expensive but the Boat US in Ironquit sold me one 4 $99. there usually about double.. If i was you and you think u might have to replace it, Call and c if they still have any. they had 2 more when i bought mine and at the time i almost picked them up also. you have 2 remove the heat exchanger 2 get 2 it but its pretty easy. also, bring it in with you so you can make sure its counter or clock wise, i forget all that and how you can tell. good luck, and hope to god you never have to replace the whole engine, i had mine rebuilt shortly after$$$$$$$$$
  7. (I had the suggestion of using JB Weld, But I'm not sure if it would stay and not come off out in the middle of the big pond. ) Not sure of the cure time butkeeping a extra tube in the boat in case this happens might be a good idea.
  8. its says you may not shoot cripples under power except in the special Sea duck area, pg 47
  9. What is the special sea duck area that is mentioned in the hunting and trapping book?
  10. well thanks for the info, ive already trying to decide 4 next year if im going to stay with inlines or get a mast.
  11. I think twofish modified it to be a inline by what he said. i was wondering the same thing
  12. A eye on a j plug would be unfogetable. Ive caught 2 cats on repelas trolling for eyes up there in the same day once. Ithink the food gets scares up there at times and the fish go for anything that moves.
  13. Went out, a few jumping, trolled from the turn around to the 104 bridge, went up just past kodak and this feller hit. On a bloody j plug. go figure
  14. thinking of trolling the river this afternoon or the shore line. Any one been out there?
  15. Never fished a 20 but have seen them up in Mich on boats.
  16. went sat evening down the river, trolled from turning point to the 104 bridge, salmon jumping almost in the the boat but not behind it. If it was me wed i would try the river again but weather permiting. the shore for browns is tempting
  17. I went out this evening. Lots of them jumping couldnt get one to hit. Think tomorrow will be better. Not that the water was that muddy, but it usually takes to days after a rain for this river to clear up. Extra thanks to the three guys tonight thast helped at the launch when my winch decided to sh_t the bed with the boat 3/4ths of the way up the trailer.
  18. Thinking of putting the boat in this evening. Havnt been out in 2 weeks and the last time hooked one half way down the river. Is there still a run? or should i try the shore for browns? Any help on whats going on would be much apreciated
  19. Long line is right on the money. I have a 700 series humminbird that flush mountes would track a ball about 50 ft down. So i tilted it a little and now it always tracks them. Mabie it throws off the true depth a little more but its def a advantage
  20. EYE on the cat ? topish. Ive actually had cats hit stick baits in the river and have caught some much bigger than that down there. We used to anchor in the current down there, and everytime in the summer we would catch big cats How many thousands of dollars in Fishing stuff and to have my brother catch this fish first ime out trolling? priceless!!!
  21. What Gambler said in my opinion is right on the money. It kinda goes against the grain, your thinking big hook, big fish...but it doesnt always work that way. Try glo cleos if you have a way to charge them. Some days fish will hit things that are just a paticular way. There are a few old post from guys here that would probally be helpfull. Some pm messages to them might help you out alot more than im able. Good luck and stick with it.
