    You need a new steering cable unless something is screwed up at the steering wheel(steering wheel issue is a rare thing) Common issue. I should say it is a common fail after sitting over the winter, being old and probably original and not being used

    unless it was inside it probably has stringer issues. You can take a hammer and do some light tapping on them, will sound hollow it bad. Check around the motor mounts as well. If you get serious have a boat surveyor look at it with a moisture meter.

    You are going have to do all of the seals on the shaft as a start. You need to put your location on the post so guys can send you to an appropriate shop.

    If it has never had the steering cable replaced, it probably needs to be replaced.

    The situation on this boat will be complicated by the fact there are no id numbers on it. If you go to the DMV site, there is a segment on getting the process going.

    I have a 195 Sea Nymph-the 8 hp will move it all over the lake.

    Get a phone number and call US headquarters and explain your situation. Not saying it is going to change the outcome but at least you have made the best attempt rather than just a letter that lands on a desk or in the trash.
