  1. New info 3/23/14 Humminbird 565 depthfinder goes with it, AM-FM stereo, 4 brand new tires to be mounted this week $300 value, worked on it to try to get it started, believe there is a solenoid issue as starter clicks off. believe bearings on trailer are all good, trailer lights work, ready to roll down the road. Price reduction to $1500 on 3/19/14 1979 Penn Yan 20 ft Tunnel Drive. Mercruiser V8 Inboard. Sitting on a 1990's roller shorelander trailer in good condition. This board sat since 09, I bought it in fall of 2011 as a project which I have not started and may never start so it is reluctantly for sale, but I need to pare down my inventory. Motor status is unknown, don't know if it fires or not, have not gotten beyond issue with key/starter. But straight inboards/tunnel drives are simple. Boat is in very good condition, couple chips near bow other than that in good shape. Penn Yan emblems on it etc. Windshield fine. Has a heavy wood swim platform and electric/hydraulic trim tabs. This boat has the Mercruiser V8 w/velvet drive, I have not determined the exact motor but Chevrolet V8's are listed on the Mercruiser chart for this year boat. I believe it has the 305-198 hp. Have registration for boat-registered to me, no registration on trailer needs to be registered as a homemade. Boat is all there, for someone looking for a Penn Yan to restore and drive around this summer or use as a fishing machine, this is your boat. Asking $1900.00 or reasonable offer. Late winter negotiable. Boat located in Dunkirk, NY Trailer is going to need tires which I may address once the weather breaks. Likewise I intend on tracking down issues which may prevent the motor from being fired up, line starter lines, battery cables, ignition etc.
  2. Edited with updates 8/29/13
  3. Price cut to $1650.00 8/3/13.
  4. The history of Sylvan and Smokercraft is intertwined with StarCraft as those boats were built along with a number of other manufacturers by Mennonites in Northern Indiana. I owned a 22 Sylvan for 8 years, I would state that it is on par with StarCraft in terms of construction etc. They are a slight step down from a Lund or a Crestliner, but there are plenty of them around that give years of service.
  5. almost the identical boat to a Sylvan, only has a different name on it and some Sylvan's were not offered under the Smokercraft label, but produced at the same plant. More recently, Smokercraft, Sylvan and Starcraft are owned by the same company.
  6. Purchasing a couple drift socks is a lot less expensive than a kicker, I would think the 3.0 might be a little fast when you take it down all the way. I had a 3.0 for 8 years, trolled fine. The kicker idea should be considered for both trolling and piece of mind as a backup.
  7. price cut to $1800 6/15/13
  8. If the boat was sitting in the water somewhere and there was a power source or some other issue with different type of metals, there will be electrolysis which causes the holes. The zinc blocks on the motors and sometimes on the transom are supposed to counter act that but it does not happen in all situations.
  9. price cut to $14,300.00 on 5/13
  10. asking price has been reduced by 1200.00 in the past two weeks
  11. Prior to the collapse of OMC and the bankruptcy, a lot of the paint was available through NAPA stores. I have seen the decals as reproduction items on EBAY.
  12. 4/23/13-price cut to $2000.00
  13. I think it falls under the category of if you are not eating it everyday, it should be fine. I look at all the grape vineyards around here that go from full foliage to looking like winter when they spray the grapes in June and that doesn't stop anyone from buying grape juice or drinking a lot of wine for example.

  15. 2001 Chevy Blazer 4x4 2 dr 111,000 miles, auto, power locks/windows, AM/FM CD, cruise, tilt, push button 4x4, air, power sunroof(works fine), power drivers seat, LS trim. Good rubber on all four tires. NEW RADIATOR JUST INSTALLED JAN 2013(have receipt). Replaced fuel lines July 2013. New rear brakes August 2013. Air works great, four wheel drive works great. Issues/concerns: ABS light on, air bag light on. Will pass inspection with those on. Body was in poor shape, I did some patch repairs last fall. Rear hatch window opens, tailgate needs some help. Passenger door needs new hinge pins which I have. For someone looking for good basic transportation or to use on the farm/hunting or winter, this may be a consideration. There is a lot of life left in it. It has moderate miles for the year(have seen much higher miles with much higher asking price). The body just has serious rust issues. Can provide any other pictures you may want. Vehicle is in Dunkirk NY which is halfway between Erie PA and Buffalo NY. Master cylinder replaced October 2013 and some brake lines replaced. Price reduced to $1250.00 or best offer. Inspection done Oct 2013
  16. Move to the top, significant price reduction 3/3/12-$2950.00
  17. as a new boat owner, a couple tips. Aluminum boats do not have gelcoat, as stated above, auto paint is fine or you can look on this page below for the gentleman who re-did the Crestliner last winter for tips, plus there are a few others. If it is not too far gone, wax may bring it back enough, try a small section and see.
