  3. Folks, the captain's bags are going to be very good! I just got a generous box of Northport Nailers. They are awesome spoons. You can check them out at www.northportnailer.com. Please reach out to them. They are the nicest folks and always donate for a cause! You can literally call and talk to a captain or his wife as they make them! Their Northern Lights spoon has been hot! If you haven't checked it out, look up "Monroe County Offshore Classic" on facebook! You'll find lots of details there. Don't forget! This is a charity event for Mercy Flight!!! I bet you know someone that was saved by them!!!! Think about it....... The Genesee Charter Boat Association is putting this event on. Support them! We raise pen fish here in Rochester every year! The Port of Rochester fishing has been heating up. There's more reason than rhyme why we scheduled this event for July 1st. The silver fish are here now and more are showing up daily. Rochester is central Lake Ontario and July is central summer.......... Reserve your slips today!!! Click a link below! Anglers, please add marinas for transient slips that I forgot! http://portofrochestermarina.com/ http://shumwaymarine.com/ http://www.mayersmarina.com/
  4. I just wanted to shout you out!!! I received my flies and spin n glo's quickly and they were ultra productive! I watch your videos daily and your information has been invaluable! I especially liked the one about fishing plugs. I bought the mixed veggies cc plug and it took a massive shot within minutes of dropping it down!!! Keep up the great work! You've earned our business. Capt. Larry

  7. Awesome buddy!!!!!! Anthony catches big fish....period!
  8. I fished with Captain Rich from NY guide service and he was able to answer all my questions and put us on fish. He's docked right in Sodus Point and all the great eateries are walking distance from his mint charter boat. I bet you could arrange something with him while you are in Sodus. https://www.nyguideservice.com/
  9. Geeze, this is crappy. I would say this is #2 on my list of things to find in the water. Sorry for the "corny" jokes
  10. Blue Moon! Scott Fletcher is an amazing fisherman and will put you on fish. I've witnessed, first hand, his ability to adjust to conditions and catch fish under pressure and serious fish at that! Check him out here http://bluemoon.lakeontariounited.com/
  11. Yankee Troller's nice salmon! I was lucky enough to happen to be walking down the dock when the Hajeckis pulled up with a charter. This team is awesome and the guests were all smiles. Nice cohos and the first king that I've seen out of our port this year! Great work Crazy Yankee!!!
  12. Transient slips are available and selling like hot cakes at the Port of Rochester Marina. You can contact Marianne who runs the marina. She is offering $1.75 a foot per day and will put all the fishing boats together. This is a top notch facility and she looks forward to providing a great experience for visiting teams. She did tell me that it is a "first come, first serve" so reserve your slips asap. Here's the link: http://portofrochestermarina.com/transient-slip-reservation-form/ Capt. Larry Hammond
  13. The Genesee Charter Boat Association got together to replace some netting and put them in on Monday 4/17/17. Many more captains were involved than are pictured.....I dropped some pictures by accident. Captain Rich Hajecki and Alex saved the day after a trip and he noticed that the pens had blown off the trailer. Captain Matt French drove in from Greece to help save the pens. Captain Sam Zucco (the club president) also came down to help. Not pictured was Captain Rick of Sharkbite, Bulldog, Captain Mark and I forgot the name of the guy to on the right in the second picture. He is an awesome fisherman who has won many trout derbies!!!! Please post your name so I can give you credit. Anyone that I missed, sorry! Please post. We will be doing a kids fishing seminar in May some time. I will post when the fish come! Tight Lines. Captain Larry Hammond
  14. What a great turn out today! We raised nearly $200 for the Genesee River trout and salmon pen project. We need volunteers to assist with tending to the pens and fish. Look for updates to come.
  15. Genesee Charter Boat Association's Annual Flea Market 3/19/17 That's right folks! Come on down to the massive angler's flea market at the Point Pleasant Fire Hall (right off of 590 north) near Sea Breeze (Rochester NY) Sunday 3/19/17 from 9 a.m until 3 p.m. Rods, reels, lies, lures, lies, antique gear, lies, line.....something for everyone including lies about fish that may or may NOT have been caught! Last year I was able to corner the skipper of Rabid Weasel (YSM) who was gracious enough to explain the finer points of goby angling, filleting and preparation. Before leaving, that same skipper ran over someone's copper and managed to tangle up 3 rod and reel combos; all this and more at the GCBA Angler's Flea Market. Please don't try to sneak in before 9 a.m. because the Department of Constipation (D.E.C.) has brought back SNAGGING for this event and the door guy will have a coffee can of snag hooks (ala Matt French), 50 lb test (from the sailboat bargain bin at Woolworths), and had bean borritos for breakfast.
  16. How does wind direction effect the Rochester Basin? Next Tuesday, March 7th at 7 p.m. at the Irondequoit Fish and Game Club this question and anything else you've wanted to ask can be answered by some of Rochester's top captains. This event, brought to you by the Genesee Charter Boat Association is literally a chance for anyone to ask questions and learn about the Ports of Rochester and Irondequoit's awesome fishery. You will also learn about our trout and salmon pen rearing program and have a chance to sign up as a volunteer to help with it. There's still no substitute for hours on the water, but the next best thing is researching, reading, listening and asking questions! The 4 captains on the panel are awesome guys; down to earth guys and flat out LOVE fishing. These are the same guys I follow on facebook, twitter etc. I gobble up their weekly reports. I, for one, will be listening and learning from them and you. I have a feeling we will all come out of this better anglers. This is a free seminar about spring and early summer trout and salmon fishing. If it goes well, there will be more! Stay tuned for a kid's fishing seminar in May by the Genesee Charter Boat Association.
