  1. thanks for the report. I'll be drifting the lower niagara Oct 21st thursday thru Sunday and hope to get into a decent mixed bag. Salmon season is a madhouse everywhere now a days, it seems there is no escaping it. I saw a guy get trapped on a rock once above devils hole. Just above the hole there is a point where guys fish and with the afternoon water rise, they got stranded. Another boat gave them a lift back, but you're right,,, you don't want to take chances up there. The lower niagara can be unforgiving.
  2. I just booked my fall trip to the lower niagara and thought I'd share the video of my spring trip this year. Lots of fish were caught and I even invented a few new happy dances http://www.facebook.com/v/1502145884232 Edit: l&m
  3. I'm coming from near albany, but will be staying on Otisco. I've been fishing Otisco for over 20 years, as my uncle has a summer home there. thanks for your help,,, I'll check those spots out
  4. I'm going to Otisco next week and was wondering if there are any bait stores within a half hour that sell sawbellies. I know there are two local spots on the lake that don't. thanks
  5. The good thing about Niagara or Oswego is if you do get blown off the lake, you can fish either the lower Niagara or Oswego harbor and still get some action. Plus there is very productive water not too far from the launch.
  6. those cabellas jointed spoons are great. If you're marking suspended browns, you can jig them too. Just drop 20 or 30 feet below the fish,,,pausing the line as you drop every 5 to 10 seconds. Once you're below the fish, then crank up almost as fast as you can. They will hit it on the fall and on the up crank. We do this with Heddon Sonars too. Jointed spoons and blade baits can be a lot of fun if you find the fish.
  7. tough situation,,, but I commend A-TOM-MIK for taking responsibility for his decision. At least you (finders keepers) wouldn't have come in 1st place and got DQ'ed, which I've heard of happening in many tourny's for many differant reasons. Again, a very difficult situation handled like a gentleman by A-TOM-MIK. Live and learn and congrats on a great day fishing regardless,,, at least you moved up on the LOC board.
  8. nice job,,,,that's how to spend fathers day
