  2. Thanks guys. I really appreciate the advice. I got up to the lake and had motor trouble right out of the box. Hopefully, I'll be headed back up mid-week after repairs. I'll be sure to be putting the methods to practice after changing a few things around. Thanks again.
  3. Here is the link to the article: http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20100606/SPORTS0103/6060351/1007/SPORTS/Atlantic-salmon-making-a-strong-comeback-in-Lake-Ontario A very good read. Thanks for bringing it to the attention of all.
  4. Observer available for the Orleans pro am. PM me if you or someone you know is looking for one. Thanks...
  5. The Captain's meeting for the Orleans is Friday, JUNE 11th!!!!! under the bridge in the Orleans County Marine Park...
  6. Thanks guys, I guess I should have said what I'll be doing up there. I am taking my 16 foot boat on my own. Since I can only use two rods, sliders on the riggers will give me two more in a sense.. As for a target I'll be be fishing for whatever I can get in the boat, lol. Actually, I was going to try for some browns with a spoons and plugs, but if it gets slow....... I have landed king salmon on 12 lb test off a rigger, but that was on a tournament boat with a lot of experience on board. None mine, of course.....It was all about holding onto the fish and letting the drag do its thing. I won't have to worry about clearing a whole lot if I would run into some. I do have 2 Tica open faced reels spooled with 20 lb test I use for stripers on the Atlantic. No laws against using an open face reel is there? I could run a heavier leader there for sure. I have some 15 lb Seaguar here somewhere.... I really appreciate the help.
  7. What does everyone use for line for a slider on the downriggers? I'm using 12 lb. test main line on my ADP27LC reels. Should I at least match it?
  8. Yes, pictures are the most important part of any ad. For all we know it could be the ugliest queen to ever grace a dock. Anyhow, if you are serious about selling the boat, post a picture...A lot of people don't like giving up their email address...just sayin'
  9. Being present at all of the captain's meetings and weigh ins last year had me hearing about what a wonderful contribution Tom Allen makes to the the pro/am series and without him a lot of it wouldn't be possible. Seems very strange to me that because of a few who cried about fair play or being ganged up on, the powers that be, decide to throw this man under the bus. Especially, in the fashion that they did it. Two weeks before the start of the season???? Then with an excuse like the names are too long for the whiteboard...All those volunteers must have carpal tunnel I'd imagine. Didn't they have boat numbers to display in the windows in the Captain's package at Oswego and Sodus Bay? Closing the communication might stop all those tears. .. Not that it matters much. It was a joke as it was. There was so much bull going on, between people calling each other friends, on the phone it was ridiculous. Do people honestly think that 'teams' regardless of sponsor were going to put others onto fish that were putting money in their 'own' pocket? The only question I have is how are the powers that be going to respond to the demands of sponsors and big time television, if they ever get there. Might want to get a head start and at least put a thinking cap on....
  10. Jeff, you have a PM on another matter. Thanks
  11. Other views of a very nice and well kept boat. Wish I could swing something like that .....Is that a Viking behind it?
