Had a great afternoon of fishing, untangling lines, breaking lures, you know all the stuff that happens on the maiden voyage of the year. My good buddy Pete brought his boat up from Perrysburg and we had a ball and also caught a lot of fish. At the end of night we agreed on at least 20 boated and many more lost. Only kept a couple for the smoker. Just about everything caught fish at some point during the afternoon. Mostly all cookie cutters except the one in the picture and the last fish of the day was nice steelie. Temps ranged from 43-45 and the clake color was perfect in the 6-12' range.

Went out today with my good buddy Josh and his son Austin. Little rough but we went 16 for 17 with one small coho. Felt great to get out and now looking for calmer sea's. White stinger and cold steel rapala did most of the damage. 38-40 degree temps until the waves told us to go back in.

I enjoyed reading most of the posts, and I can agree with just about all that you wrote. Especially the DEC rant, and all of their very dumb moves. I look forward to muzzle loader season and they took that away from me. First time in over 40 years of hunting that I did not hunt one day with snow. Still enjoyed my time in the stand. I have used the service twice and I can't say enough about the professionalism this service promotes. I too was questioned heavily about the hit, but they know what they are doing. Both tracking jobs were nothing short of phenomenal. If you get a chance look them up and read some of the recovery stories and you will understand. Hunting in 8h and the bucks are now chasing the does. We didn't hunt during the doe only period because we knew we couldn't hold back on a buck. It is very frustrating as like most others my time is limited. The first doesn't bother as much because the season didn't start until the 15th not to long ago. However they ruined my favorite season (muzzle loader ) by taking away the possibility of shooting a buck. Some of my best have come during that season and there are very few hunters out at that time. I did not buy a muzzle loader tag this year and I have heard many others say the same.
