  1. It's a meat set up from ATOMMIK. 3 teasers with a Rhys Davis meat head. Most commonly pulled behind a green 11" paddle. Pic below is from one of Tony Buffa's trip. 'Bout Time Mike
  2. Stop and see me. Things are looking to be shaping up for a great season 'Bout Time Mike
  3. Started setting lines at 645 and by 945 we were 6 for 9. All Kings (12-23lbs). I worked a 3/4 mile area between 140-180 FOW and never left. White green dot spin dr / stud fly produced 5 of the fish off riggers at 135, 140, and 124. 390 dipsey ripped out to over 700 before it became unbuttoned- that was a green dot chip green crinkle fly. 600 copper took a fish pulling a "cannonball rig". Lost two more off riggers pulling matador chip and sweet pea fly. 'Bout Time Mike

  5. they are generally meant to be used for larger flashers. you can use them with 8" and still have success. One thing I do on some is I cut the lead just after the teasers and install either a barrel swivel or a snap on the end. I also install a snap on the tag end of the meat head. This gives me the option of running teasers with the meat head or just removing the teasers and run the meat head directly to the paddle. I can also change the meat head color anytime I want and use the same teasers
  6. One good thing about running them with spin Drs and Small paddles is you can run shorter leads off riggers. I've run as short as 10' with very good success. My starting point is always +\- 15' with these and adjust from there. On a "meat bite" day these are deadly off your Dipsies. 'Bout Time Mike
  7. For my particular setup I run anywhere from 24-32" for plain cut bait heads. If I am using teasers I will stretch it from 32-40". I use the same rule as my fly program. Shorter lengths for Spin DRs and longer for Paddles Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. I run my Spin Drs with 18-22" leads and for Echip paddles I run longer leads of 22-25". As far as leads off the ball I always start with my standard 12-15' and let the fish tell me. If I am getting a lot of streakers but no takers I will adjust one longer and shorten one up and see what works that particular day Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Can the app be used without a data plan? I have a tablet that does built in GPS but no data plan on it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Last night provided some solid action. Did a laker, 16lb King, and a 28+ lb King. I've never seen so much bait in my life 'Bout Time Mike
  11. Afternoon trip out of FH produced. Started slow with a laker but found some huge bait pods. Started working the bait pods as I saw some fish scattered through. 300 dipsy ripped out to almost 700. 16 lb King in the net, 15 minutes later 120 rigger fires and after a great fight 28+ lb King hit the deck. 'Bout Time Mike
  12. Bruzer axle to axle is 18 at rest and 15 @ draw Vs. Ten point 22.6 at rest vs. 19 @ draw. I do almost all tree stand hunting so I am leaning towards the bruzer for the compact design Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Looking at getting a crossbow. Question I have is how important is the actual weight of the crossbow? I have it narrowed down to two different models. Tenpoint invader G3 330 FPS 96.7 kinetic energy 165lb draw Weighs 6.6 lbs Vs. Bear Bruzer FFL 335 FPS 99.3 kinetic energy 125lb draw weight Weighs 9.0 lbs Both have dry fire safety, warranties, and are very comparable. I can get the bear for $110 cheaper than the tenpoint. I have very short walks to my hunting locations - a mile or less. So I'm wondering if the extra weight is that big of a deal 'Bout Time Mike
  14. I thought it would be cool to start a thread to share "non fish" pictures, more like sunrises, sunsets, etc that we all see and enjoy while out on the water. Here is one from Saturday morning. The rainbow only lasted 10 minutes but I was able to capture this shot 'Bout Time Mike
  15. Missed my morning bite but hit the water around 730. Decent screen from 100 out to 180 then it was a ghost land. Ended the day at 11 with 3 Kings one laker. Hot setup was Green / chartreuse pro troll trailed by an Green A-Tom-Mik Mfg. Hammer fly. That combo took 3 out of the four fish. All fish came off riggers at 80-90-102. Best waters were 130-180 for me. 'Bout Time Mike

  18. Black, black, black, and black. I will change it up once in a while and throw a custom green white dot out, but mostly always black Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. One trick on the special mates is to cut a piece of mattress foam material to fit the exact width and length of the inside of the box. Lay the foam on top of all the spoons and dividers. Since the hooks are down they don't get hung up in the foam and it takes up all excess space. It may not work 100% of the time but has worked more than not to stop the spilling of spoons when the box gets tipped over 'Bout Time Mike
  20. I have 2 of the Tanacom reels. One 500 and one 750. Short answer is yes you can use them to reel in fish Long answer. These are great reels with a lot of bells and whistles that you will probably never use but can be used for salmon fishing. They have a star drag system just like a conventional reel. You will still have to " work the fish" with pumping the rod to gain line. Things to watch on these reels are: 1. They are super smooth and have a clutch system - NO CLICKER. So it is up to the user or someone watching closely if you are gaining line or the fish is taking line. The menus on the reel itself can be confusing and the ones I have are in Japanese ( I believe ) Def not English. Not sure if they all are I use mine with a standard power cord that just clips onto my house batteries. I do run into issues with the cable being limited to reach certain sides of the boat I only run mine when I have disabled or older guys on board. I do a lot of the wounded warrior events and they do work great. I have seen the larger ones used for coppers and have even seen a charter use one for a dipsy setup. One last suggestion would be run your best lure or setup on this rod. If you are looking to get someone into a fish it just limits them to this one rod Hope this helps 'Bout Time Mike
  21. I am doing as well as I can be at this point. I have ended my therapy sessions I did 35 visits and now am on home remedy. I have good days and not so good days but that is to be expected. The nerve damage is slowly coming around and that seems to be far worse then the physical shoulder at this point. I will lose some motion (behind the back etc) but overall should be able to get most back. I was told that I should avoid gun season this year or at least shoot left handed as one of the anchors and screws is placed directly where the butt stock sits. I have started to shoot my kids bow which is 18lbs and gradually increasing my reps on that. I'm at 15 weeks so all in all I feel like I'm getting there. I must say this has been the most humbling surgery I have been through ( and I have had ALOT). It really shows how many things I took for granted and was a hard pill to swallow. 22. another thing to consider is not just the lures, or your presentation but other factors including speed and direction. You will find that fish may like it slower or faster depending on their moods and you may also find that most of your hits are generated when going one direction versus another. just another part of the equation

  24. Fishing remains Solid out of Fair Haven. Managed 28 bites in just 3 trips. Total time on water for all three trips was just 7 hours. Went 6 for 9 in a solo trip with all solid 4-6lb browns and one 4+ lb smallmouth Followed that with a 14 for 16 trip again all solid 4-6 lb browns and one small steelhead. Brought family out this afternoon and managed to go 3 for 3 with each kid getting one. Bay rats off the boards and mongoose stinger off the riggers have been my go to program. Fished waters from 7-13 feet. 2 Highlights of the trip were the kids, and ended the morning trip with a quad with just 2 of us onboard 'Bout Time Mike
