Although there was a lot of floating green moss today and a great del of current, we still managed to catch two walleyes and drop one. One was 19" and the other around 24". Also picked up a smallmouth on a deep diver. I even ran up above the bridge and caught one just for Prof T.
  2. Although we only caught 6 bass on the river this morning my sister-in-law caught a pb 20 1/2 incher.
  3. Sounds like you have it figured out. When fish suspend they will often hit long lined deep divers as well. Lots of similar spots to try on the river that can be productive.
  4. Thanks Prof T
  5. Camera angle makes it look big. Think it was about 18".
  6. Took my wife and her sister out for a quick trip this morning. After missing opening weekend due to a week trip to New Mexico we diid ok for my first outing.
  7. Glad the boat is working Landshark.
  8. I had great luck fishing the night bite during full moon last year. I'm looking forward to trying again this year.
  9. I must admit I'm not super accurate with my deep divers on the river. I cast them as far back as possible and the give 10 pulls on my rod and close the bail. Not super accurate for depth but easy to deploy.
  10. Water is very clear so Floro helps. I wouldn't go much lighter than 20 lb. or zebras will be cutting you off.
  11. I use 20 lb. braid with 20 lb. floro leader and fish it off a spinning rod as it s easier to cast it out behind the boat to deploy quickly. Also put heavy split shot ahead of deep diver. They don't have to be on bottom as fish often suspend. Caught them in 70 fow down 25 feet.
  12. Never had any issue with breaking and it casts a mile and is less prone to tangle issues than many braids. I use a palmar knot to a small swivel and then floro leader. Primarily use it casting with spinning gear and fishing jigs, sticks, Senkos, top waters and jigging spoons. Also have used it on steelhead . Also like that it floats.
  13. Bays are much warmer but channel is still cold.
  14. Nice fish Pete.
  15. I didn't catch any the last two times I tried.
  16. It is a circus fishing alone when I'm running two long lines and a heavy bottom bouncer. I keep heading slowly into the current to keep pressure on the fish. If you put the boat in neutral with multiple lines out bad things can happen. I also carry two nets and use the smaller rubber net on small fish to avoid hook tangles which are a pain in the dark.
  17. Now you have some success you'll become addicted. I got skunked this morning. Marked bait but couldn't get a bite. We should get together and fish sometime.
  18. Fished BRB this morning in heavy fog. Glad we had chart. It was very slow but we picked up a walleye, a pike, and a whitefish. Spoons worked better than lures today.
  19. I saw many bedded bass when I was pulling into boat ramp yesterday on SLR
  20. Had some friends visiting from Anchorage Alaska that never had caught a walleye. Mission accomplished this evening. Hunter caught his first a 29" 9 lb fish. They each ended up catching two fish and we had a very nice evening on the river.
  21. After seeing the bait the other morning I knew the walleye would follow. Caught two in about 5 minutes early this morning in 33 fow. Never had another hit but only fished an hour and a half.

  23. True Justin but many techniques you learn are adaptable for most bodies of water. Just need to experiment and modify.
  24. Great job Justin. If anyone wants to learn a great deal about walleye fishing and shorten your learning curve I would recommend a trip with Justin! Money well spend no matter if you hit fish or not.
