  1. Better keep your boat out of that slip #27. That bad boy is where the winning boat will be parked. I got room for you on my boat on Friday if you want to go. Might just be me or maybe me and Barry. I'll probably start fishing around 2:30 or 3 O'Clock. Barry is bringing two big sacks of clams for steamed clams on Friday night! P.S. Clothing is NOT Optional
  2. That is very cool. Makes me think that lengthening the distance between the flasher and the fly might make it easier for the fish to bite it. I saw a tv show last week where a guide up in Alaska runs about a 6 or 7' lead between his flasher and fly when trolling for Salmon.
  3. You will get many opinions and here is mine. I have NEVER EVER caught anything on a flasher fly running only 20 feet deep. Not saying it can't be done....I just haven't. Maybe 40' down with cloudy water at the shallowest. I generally fish flashers 60 down to 120 down. If the water is really clear I find you have to be really deep unless it is really early in the morning or really late in the evening. Forget about that #0 diver it won't get you deep enough for flasher fly combo. I really like the Walker size 107. I run wire and the deeper depths such as 100 feet It is almost exactly a 3-1 ratio. 300 feet out is 100 down. As I try to run shallower it works out to about 2.5 - 1 or so. If I want 50 down I have to let out about 125 feet or so. Braid is fine for running divers until the sea fleas come out. Once they come out you might as well leave the braid home. It is a nightmare. Go buy a spool of wire and spool that rod up with wire. You wont regret it Just buy some sleeves and a crimper. They usually have the tool and the sleeves right next to the wire. If your out on Seneca this weekend, give me a shout out on the radio (Stoutner)....channel 68. I could try to help you out.
  4. Ray knows this well. He actually used to fish with Seth Green back in the 1800's
  5. Weigh in starts at 7pm but ends no later than 7:30pm. At the boat launch at Sampson.
  6. That's great news. ....another question. Do the Open division team captains need to attend the mandatory Friday meeting or is that just for ProAm. The rules are sort of unclear to me anyway. In either case, where is the captains meeting being held? Isn't on the http://www.lakeontarioproam.net website yet. Thanks for your help/info.
  7. O.K. The head count so far is: Zebedee - Jason Balls Deep - Wayne (Maybe changing boat name if I have time....thinking about Green Dolphin which is my favorite lure and favorite fish) Lakebound88 - Nick TripleDuece50 - Jeremy Cdgn Troller - Brett??? Quality Time - Wes . . . . DButts - not fishing but hopefully stopping by at weigh in.
  8. Nice Job. Haven't been out on Owasco in a couple of years.
  9. Start fishing anytime. Meet by the launch at 7:30pm for weigh in. $20 per boat. Post here if you are in. If you say you are in and for some reason dont fish....just bring your $20 to the ramp at 7PM Or, if you get there early look for this shined up fishing machine in slip 27
  10. You know I'm in. I say we take a roll call before hand $20 per boat and meet at Sampson at 7:30 pm for weigh in. Pay top two biggest fish 60% / 40%. P.S. Bought new steering system today. Installing tomorrow!
  11. That is awesome ! Is some of that going to the open division as well? [ Post made via Android ]
  12. Nick, That's pretty funny. As I was reading this I was about to make the comment: "Fish Cayuga" Truth is....Some days the fish just aren't biting ... no mater what you throw at them.
  13. Tom, You can't go fishing Friday. I just booked a party for 150 at Tournedo's on Friday at noon
  14. Nick, That is why I haven't posted too much in Fingerlakes this year. My boat is in a slip up in Sodus Point. Any time you want to go, give me a shout. I am probably going both Saturday and Sunday if you want in. ...Then I'm pulling it out Sunday afternoon to get ready for the Lake Trout Derby. Don't know if you saw this beast we caught last weekend up in Sodus.
  15. CONGRATULATIONS ON THE SALE! I'M SURE THE NEW OWNER WILL BE REALLY HAPPY.
  16. Thanks Vince. That was what I was looking for. Ray, We are fishing the open out West and probably Proam in Sodus and Oswego. How about you?
  17. No doubt.... If it was a Ho, the cooler would have been littered with scales
  18. Fishing out of Sodus Point 5-12-12 caught this 13lb 6oz Brownie. Netted us $100 for 6th place in Brown Trout Division.
  19. Thanks guys. It held up for 6th place in Brown Trout division. We'll take that $100 and put it toward a copper setup
  20. Nice job Kyle. I think I saw you guys out there yesterday morning.
  21. Fished out of Sodus with 3 others trying to make the LOC board. Started out trolling for Browns in 20 FOW but after about 45 minutes nothing. Decided to head north for deeper water and maybe some kings. Had a 9 rod spread going on my little boat when all of the sudden at about 40 FOW I hear my planer mast go "smaaack". I look at it then back towards the rods and notice FISH ON! Fish is stripping line like a decent sized King. Hand the rod off and after a 5 or 10 minute battle up comes the 13 lb 13 oz Brown (On my $12 digital scale). We decided not to run in to weigh station because we knew we needed over 14 lbs for Brown Trout lead. Fished for about 5 more hours and only managed a 5 or 6 lb Coho and an 11 lb King. The Brownie weighed in at 13 lbs 6 oz for Big brown of the day (so far) and 5th place. Later that day someone out of Rochester put a 16 lb'er on the board and knocked us off and down to 6th place. Slow day of fishing but nice to be able to put a fish on the board. 2 of 3 fish caught flat line on a J-9 Rapala Brown trout imitation. Here is the best pic we took:
  22. Thanks... My fault for phrasing the question entirely wrong. I wasn't "looking for a motel" but instead was looking for a few recommendations. I wasn't concerned too much about finding a motel. I know how to use Google. My other question was meant to ask if the slips "sell out". In either case thanks for the info...except you Buffy
  23. Gotta love the Lake O guys. Can't even get advise about logistics let alone speeds, depths, colors, etc...
  24. Seneca Lake is not Cayuga but we'll manage a few fish per day. Just need that 15 - 20 lb beast!!!
