  1. Sweet Wes. Should be a good time. I'm fishing with my girlfriend and her father again. They will probably not stay over night but I might stay at least one night and hang out with everyone and drink some beers....maybe barbeque etc.
  2. Git it Done. I'll be in slip #27. Stop by for a beer
  3. Dave, Thanks for the reminder. I'm calling them later today. Look forward to seeing you and the rest of the L.O.U. guys. We going to put together some kind of big fish friday or weekend side bet? Wayne
  4. Is there decent trolling oportunties at the north end if i am mainly after trout/salmon? Yes once you get south enough to get to the deep water. Probably only a mile or two depending on where you rent a slip. South end is better in the spring but North Central is pretty much as good the rest of the year. North might even be a little better in late Summer or early Fall. I have always thought the best trolling was down in the southern third of the lake. Depends who you talk to. Guys like me that fish the Deans Cove to Sheldarke Point to Long Point are might beg to differ. ...not to mention the silo's at the very north end... Do your boats stay right in the water, docked up all summer? Yes. You don't worry about the waves smashing the boat against the dock? Is it protected from the waves? No problem. Most of the marinas on the East side on the north end are VERY protected. ....and figure about $1000.00 or so for the season. P.S. Also, a huge benefit of the North end is the Bass and Pickerel fishing. If you get a newbie that needs to land a fish you can troll stickbaits in the north end and slam Pickerel pretty much one after another.
  5. Wow...That first fish is really ugly but the second one is gorgeous!
  6. Finally firming up my Niagara Pro Am plans and need to know where I can get a slip for the weekend and also suggestions for reasonable motel/hotel in the area. I would probably prefer to fish out of Olcott. Doesn't look like the marinas in Olcott and Wilson are very big???? Will they have slips....or is it too late to reserve? Wayne
  7. "We're gonna need a bigger net!" - That's awesome. Congrats on a good day!
  8. Nice Job Wes. Looking forward to seeing you guys at the Lake Trout Derby. I am going to rent a slip at Sampson again.
  9. Got a late start (9:30 - 1:30) out of Sodus on the 6th and went about 6 for 12 or so. 1 keeper King, 1 keeper Coho, 2 nice Lakers and a couple skippy Kings that we ethically released at the back of the boat. Dropped at least 6 more. Fishing is crazy good out on Lake O right now.... Fish caught in all depths from 60 out to 200 FOW. Can't wait to get back out again. Wayne
  10. I actually found a much better coating at Lowes. It is that spray on roof seal coating like you see on tv. If is made for fising roof leaks and gutter leaks etc. It is wayyyy more durable than the rubber tool dip stuff. It is called RustOleum Leak Seal. One can for $8.99 will easily do 5 weights.
  11. The Spring King season on the EAST end of the lake is 1 day long and you missed it. Gotta wait until June, July, and August for the east end to start getting good. Go WEST young man
  12. Harvey, Thanks for the 5 that I got from you at the flta on Sunday. I coated them with this flat black rubber spray on coating. They look great.
  13. Don't have much of a problem with Blacks but just ordered two of the Chamberlins to try them out. They look pretty sweet.
  14. Nick, Sweet Video. Maybe talk to you on the Lake tomorrow. Wayne
  15. I just bought one at Wal Mart for $80 plus tax. It is Measures: 41.63"L x 18.69"W x 20.25"H http://www.walmart.com/ip/Igloo-Quick-a ... escription $50 bucks is a good price. Wish I didn't just buy mine...
  16. the small picture doesn't really emphasize the tail and top fin spots. they are both completely spotted. that would be typical with a rainbow/steelie. not a brown. as i said above, i've never seen a brown with a completely spotted tail. you always see them with a few along the top or none at all. fish id's all show browns with a few or no spots, rainbows with completely spotted tails. I agree about the spots. Don't know if I've ever seen a Brown with a spotted tail like that. Pretty fish.
  17. If you have any spots with numbers you want to share I'll take em. I would be in to a Hudson trip for Stripers. Let me know. ...or strippers
  18. Hey Stubby...I mean Buffy....I mean Ray, We are heading to Marathon on April 19th....after you are gone. You have any good Yellowtail spots between Bahia Honda and Marathon? ...or any other good coordinates you care to share? Wayne
  19. The head looks a lot like a steelhead but the flat tail (no fork) says Brown all the way to me.
  20. I would think 1 - 2 footers max for near shore this Sunday. I'm hoping to get out as well. Not worried about the waves. Should be pretty good.
  21. Same as Nick. 18 lb works great.
  22. As a member of Seneca Falls Country Club and a fairly good golfer I highly recommend Sodus Bay Heights Golf. Great course layout, great conditioning, scenic, and challenging. If you are a golfer within 50 miles of Sodus I highly recommend you stop by there for a round. I have played many rounds there and enjoyed every one of them.
  23. I like this idea a lot. The guys on smaller boats have an easier time catching 6 big fish than boxing out with 12 fish. That levels the playing field for us Ams with smaller boats. I like the solution above but also think it would be really easy to just weigh in all of your fish and let the chips fall where they may. The only Caveat is you can only cash in one or the other not both. If you come in 1st in the big box and 3rd in the small box, you cash the big box and are eliminated from the small box contest and everyone below you moves up a spot. That way, if 30 places were paid per day then 30 checks would be cut to 30 separate teams. As far as the "cup" challenge etc each place would be assigned points and a points system could be used. Either way, I'll fish in it if my team mates are in. I doubt they will be if the fee is $850 though. Even $650 is a bit of a stretch to fish all four events. Will probably have to cut back to 2 events at that rate.
  24. I disagree.... My standard trolling rods with a $7 twilli tip have lasted 5 years and show no signs of wear and tear. I use them twice per week for abour 5 months per year.
