At least it wasn't ficht du

Wonder what the reasoning is for Lake Champlain? I guess I didn't realize it was an exception. Maybe to be consistent with other nearby states that have access to it?

The recent wet snow/rain/sleet combination may be affecting many places adversely with the weight combined with insulating the existing marginal ice condition (e.g. white ice on top of a couple inches of hard stuff. Things can be precarious so be sure to spud your way out and error on the side of caution if you go. I'm holding off for now to see what this weather does.

With the Spin Doctor you have pictured in the first post it is configured in the hole for less action. For more action use the bottom one and for high speed trolling use the top front hole and the rearward hole for slow speed trolling. Many folks just leave them hooked up as they come in the package and don't experiment but it is worth doing sometimes and can make a difference in results. The action can be really accentuated by using the bottom rear hole and shortening the leader of the fly as suggested above.

Wish I could.....I think I picked them up at one of the tackle shows years back. I'm sure they can be found somewhere online though. Just checked and here seems to be one https://www.fishusa.com/Dreamweaver-Swivel-Snaps-10-Pack?quantity=1&L-Size1=1051&msclkid=e258b654fb781e327c96e86949fbe372&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping_PLA_All Products&utm_term=4585100930555023&utm_content=All Products

Very cool! Those Redfish are a blast aren't they? We caught them on light tackle in the salt marshes in South Carolina too. In the shallow water they go nuts

A good option for the looped fly is this for fast changes

It is well worth the effort....my son has been fishing with me since age 2 1/2 ( even ice fishing etc.) and we're still doing it almost 40 years later.

x2 on Rob's comment.I'm sure when they did the research and development they had the swivel attached so why not run as designed?

It does look like a whitefish Pete but I think the fins are usually darker. If we could see the tail clearly it might help too as they have a very pronounced "V" in it but the mouth looks more like that of a whitefish..

Not easy to tell from the way is is hanging but possibly Cisco?. I think the Gizzard Shad may have a black round spot at the rear of the gill

Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me as I have worried about being in yours at times with all that hardware.

The loss of his right to own and/or use a gun has more to do with the legal nature of the offense than anything else. Convicted felons are prohibited from possessing, owning or otherwise having contact with conventional firearms. so basically it is much like the forfeiture of the voting right of a felon as well. Both are guaranteed by the Constitution /Bill of Rights and subject to specific limitations (legal constraints) set forth by individual states.

Thanks Mike never can have too many lures right?

Sorry Dennis none. Sure wish I did though. I think they were all pretty well scarfed up on after Charlie died in 2010.

We sure hope so and you did it right Bill and from the pics you routinely display are continuing to do so By the way your daughter is a lot braver than me Much of it is about proper parenting and exposure to the "right stuff".

Thanks much Chris and I appreciate the thought but you deserve the money for them and I will be bringing it

It's true Mike. When I was in Junior School (now Middle school) they had a target range in the basement of the school where we held our Rifle Club events and even when I was in a Youth Group at the Episcopal Church we regularly did archery practice and competed among us in the basement (think I was in 7th grade then). Now kids spend their time alone or with one or two others doing video games, watching pxoxrxnxo, or hacking into computers while in their own finished basements or bedrooms without any parenting going on or supervision of any type and probably little to no awareness of what was going on..... until something terrible happens. Kids and adults don't know how to sooth themselves, entertain themselves with outdoor activities requiring effort or with productive activity. Does it sound like "Grumpy Old Men".?..Yep (but that doesn't mean it isn't true)

Yeah Bill American's have gotten too far away from our roots. It is a mistake that will come back to bite us in the butt too.
