  1. Still biting today Tuesday. Fish move up the water column, in deeper water. 3oz snaps 55, 60,65 back. Chartreus harnesses died, when back to double willow triple d watermelon.
  2. Wow, what a trip. We did an afternoon yesterday and a morning today. Right outside of Toronto (CN tower in background). As usual, I was smokin and drinkin beer, as the boy reeled in king after king. Since living in Buffalo, we turned into big king snobs.... 203 FOW, 131 down on the rigger, Big Weenie mountain dew paddle, mc rocket bio bait, Mustad Shcmooo-ee scent, 2.4 up top, 1.7 at the ball. She ripped, then ran out 525 feet. The boy reeled him in on P line CCX 20 lb mono (IMO the best stuff ever..) He got a 28lber. He got a 24 on Sat. Plenty of 20's, and upper teens. What a bite! July off the Toronto Islands is tremendous. Many thanks to Gavin and GetBit Sport Fishing. Derby fish leading was 34lbs. Now thats a King.
  3. Oh what a great day on the waters out of SBH buffalo. We set up in 56FOW and began running our chartreuse and gold blade harnesses. 3oz snaps 60 to 100 feet back. 8 walleyes with the two biggest close to 7lbs, and about 14 sheepsheed pie plates. Non stop action for the late shift 11 to 4pm. Fun time. The boy had a blast. (The last two days we were in toronto fishing kings). Whats with the fish cleaning station? Damn thing is out of order again.
  4. Well, I am relatively new to the lake erie buffalo walleye fishing scene (got here 3 years ago), so not sure if I can help. I have tried fishing the niagara a few times. Thought that was worth exploring. I would run down to the lake anyways. Probably the bass would be fun. Check out an evening and see how it goes.
  5. Thanks for the update. Gonna give it shot this morning and see whats what. Probably run some meat. Probably just run out to the canada line and see whats on the fishfinder first. Still smaller fish around the windmills. Havent seen those pronounce marks yet. Still waiting.
  6. we usually stay at the Best Western in Port clinton. Decent room, with a pool. Jolly rodger for fish across the street. A couple of bars within walking distance. Nice little area.
  7. One of the old time guides from Canada used to eat garlic sandwiches. Yuk, but it works.
  8. One year out from new boat loan classification by SEFCU credit union. If it were a 2009, it would be 4.00 for 72 months. Not bad. Since its used. Used RV & Boat 36 Months 3.25% Used RV & Boat 48 Months 3.25% Used RV & Boat 60 Months 3.75% Used RV & Boat 61-84 Months 7.99%
  9. I havent tried this yet, but the my peeps on lake michigan say spread a little citrus based dishwashing soap on the legs. So, a dot of soap on the inside andoutside ankles. Will give it a test this week. Always thought biting flies, meant weather change, eg, rain is a comin. I cant do long pants and wool socks, I have a farmers tan reputation I need to keep up.
  10. I am so digging this little spot
  11. Love the nautical charts on the left. I think I can do it. http://www.oceangrafix.com/chart/zoom?chart=14832 I will bring the handlining equipment, just in case.
  12. Had a request for a recreation trip from SBH to Smith Boys. I can get there from there right?
  13. Ray, what the big starcraft scare ya? I will be sure to have some riggers on for ya. HA!... Your always welcome on the boat.
  14. Once shorthanded nails down the bite, I am gonna drag your HVAC, crappy cigar chewing ass out there, Ray!
  15. Was out there today with the boy. Seen some good hooks 20 to 25 down. Ran some meat on snap weight. A couple of hit and runs but thats it. 40 to 44 FOW. Did some perch fishing too. Seems the blooms were shook up with the wind and weather over the last few days. Had trouble locating school. Some nickel and dime stuff. Channel 68 was humming, but it didnt seem like all too good news. Southowns in full force. giddy up fellas.
  16. I like that small fridge idea. Easy to find and cheap. Just enough to take the chill outta a beer, and keep crawlers fresh. Jimski, nice work. I like your stuff.
  17. Now that makes better sense. For some reason i was thinking of Big Gull in Minnesota. I think it was the home town of Takasaki and site of the Largest Ice Fishing Jamboree. My bad. heck, thats not too far away.
  18. Wow, thats is wicked. Thanks larry. Now I got option #3 if the walleye and perch dont want to cooperate. I am turning into a multispecies guy. Nuts.
  19. man, that erie bite is smokin. Some nice fish coming out. Jig for the eaters, pull meat for the big ones. Cant been that.
  20. Yep, its up to the individual fisherman. We released a 14.6 walleye outta quinte a couple of winters back. Just about all of our +10 fish go back. Will keep a dink (4+ or so) for the fryer. Heck we release a lot of fish ontario and erie. But its my choice. The 14.6 replica sits on the wall. Great leasson for the 11 year old.
  21. Sounds like an excellent trip. Were you pulling hooks or rigging? Thats gotta be a long cruise, but it looks like it was worth it.
  22. Not sure if they are walleye fishing. Probably bass. Seems like a bite is going on. Go get em.
  23. This should be a fun event. Oneida es en fuego. Me and the boy had a scheduled trip to canada, so we wont be able to make it. These types of local events are important for the fisherman. Not everyone can test their mettle via the FLW. Congrats and good luck to all!
