  3. Fished from 8-1 with no action what so ever. East side, and west side, no bait, no marked fish. Fished the usual spread, even ran top lines for a bit. I definitely fished where the fish weren't. It's all good though, boat ran good, the gear is ready, and the skunk is out of the way. Lake trout derby, here we come...

  11. Monday for us was slow. I did see a few large logs floating down the east side, out deep. Be alert out there, two of them are big enough to sink a boat, and the float just below the surface, Very hard to see...
  12. I finally got my boat in the water. We fished on the south end of Seneca on Monday. Fishing was a bit slow for us but we did manage to get some slime on board. We ran flasher/flies behind the dipseys. They were set out at 225 and 250. Picked up a nice salmon in front of the tiki bar on the 250 side. We ran 3 riggers at 85 65 and 40, and had a 10, and 8 color lead cores on the in line planners. At one point, while bringing in the inline, it popped off. Made a hard turn to circle back to get it, and took back to back Strikes. Boated one, and lost one. The one that came off felt heavy. It hit like a ton of bricks, pulled the rod tip to the water, and peeled drag. Then it turned around and swam right at the boat. Steve thought he lost it, reeled fast, got tension back, and then the hook came out right behind the boat. Only other fish was a small laker, and another nice salmon on the 8 color core. The fish were scattered, couldn't find any bait, and only marked an occasional hook. So, while It wasn't the fast pace fishing we' had in the past, the boat ran great, everything was working, and the boat is ready to catch some giant derby fish. Look out
  13. Nice. Great pics. That's one happy kiddo. He'll b telling all his friends at school about that! I'm planning on Monday for my 1st voyage of the year. [ Post made via Android ]
  14. Well let's just say I'm late to the show. Usually my boat is fishing by the last week in April. It is now may 10, and my boat is still winterized. I could give 1000 excuses as to why I'm late, but it doesn't change anything. The good news is that I've been busting a** the last few days, and the Reel hard 2 is almost ready. I should be getting her wet Monday 5-14/ or the 15. I really just wanted to say thanks to all of you, who, after a long day of fishing, catching, and cleaning, still have the energy to type up a detailed fishing report, include photos, and hit the send button to keep guys like me in the loop. Some people may get upset that your giving to much info, and that everybody is going to come catch all of THIER fish, but in reality this is what it's all about. Keep those reports coming guys! In a few more days I'll hit the send button on some info myself....
  15. Nice looking fish. I'd say as long as you are marking bottom really good and a few fish here and there that your fish finder is working fine. A new lowrance would b nice though... Were you on the north end or the south end?
  16. Just over 2weeks to go! Took a road trip to Sampson today, and got my slip. We'll b in 35 this year. There are a few slips left, better get on it if you are thinking about it. After Sampson we went to bass pro shops and spent some duckets. Returned home via rte. 89 down Cayuga. It was a nice day outside, for a road trip, Or if you're a duck....
  17. There are plenty of local guys who are legit charter captains. I know many of them personally. When some fly by night wanna be wants to cut corners on credentials, who knows what other corners they cut. And if they don't know what the heck they are doing, it makes for unhappy clients who will b less willing to come back to this area for charters. [ Post made via Android ]
  18. Nice job, great info. It's good to start getting some reports from Cayuga.
  19. Not to steal your thread but, I am in need of trailer tires also. I'll b following this conversation closely.
  20. Nice shakedown trip. Glad to hear the lake is coming back up. My boat just came out of storage. It'll b a week or two before it goes in. Hopefully, i'll have a good 1st report too. [ Post made via Android ]
