  1. Has anyone tried a mooching rod and reel on a down rigger, fishing the big O. I know they use them on the Pacific Coast.
  2. The releases I use Fourteen inches of down rigger cable with two swivel one on each end. Attach one to the end to the down rigger and use a walleye rubber band attach to line and then to top swivel. You can watch the rod tip which is very sensitive. So sensitive that you can tell when you have. Golby Learned this trick from Lake Michigan anglers who been using this method for years.
  3. How about 5.00 and you pay the shipping
  4. The fish are still the same spot, east of Sturgeon Pt. Have been catching them for the last 5 weeks. We got our limit yesterday all nice eaters
  5. Use them for bait. Great for trout. You need to put at least three per hook. Must make sure they didn't bite any one on the boat . Human scent will scare the fish away.
  6. You don't want to get caught on by the Canadian border patrol, unless you called in to the Canadian customs to register your boat and people in the boat. You must also have a navigational map of the waters your boating on, no mater it you have a couple GPS's on the boat. A friend of mine did not do any of the above, his boat was confiscated and had to pay a 2500.00 fine in order to get his boat and equipment back.
  7. There are some nice walleye in I Bay
  8. I prefer the little walleye for eating, We normally release walleye 23 inches or over . We caught 20 today and put 12 in the box between 17 and 22 inches. The eight were too big, had one 30 inches ( 9 lbs) off coarse these fish were caught Lake Erie ( from the small boat harbor) all bottom bouncing with worm harnesses
  9. Cover your boat with mosquito netting
  10. How are you going to use the spare wheel and the wood?
  11. Eating raw garlic cloves will keep mosquitoes away. It should work on flies. Just don't kiss anyone on the boat
  12. If catch and release , you wouldn't have that problem.
  13. You probably won't catch another fish on that hot lure.. Those fish are trained by the tackle shops. Tomorrow it will be another lure in which you only have one if a kind.
  14. Go to your apps icon and search for SOS.There are a few versions
