  1. Black/glow/purple has done well for us, as well as black/UV. Both BW.
  2. I"m only in my 20s and this is damn true. Glad I listened to him.
  3. I have the Atommik style, but looking for the Torpedo design. Which does Harvey make?
  4. looking for a good condition 16lb Torpedo rigger weight, MAYBE a black Shark near the same weight. Also looking for a wire diver setup. Nothing extravagant, not looking for a Tekota or Coldwater, maybe something like 47LC, maybe Convector.
  5. I never noticed much of a difference rigging between the whole bait and the strips. What size whole bait did you get?? Try a smaller tray next time. Should work out better.
  6. has anyone ever used the whole alewives from GLT?? Do they fit into the 'standard' whole bait head (like BW)??
  7. would still probably taste better than a laker
  8. how heavy are the balls and how much?
  9. down to about 31%. Gettin there.... http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/webdata/cwops/webdata/statistic/dat/g2013_2014_ice.dat
  10. If you were gunna pick some up, I think Cabelas has them on sale
  11. yup. cheeks are toooooo good to waste. Pretty quick and easy to get em too
  12. if you are gunna stack halfway up, why not just run a slider/fixed slider and use the extra rod somewhere else?
  13. Really hoping the warm up this week melts a TON of ice. Would love to get some ringbacks Easter weekend.
  14. Just sold a pair of these. They were bulletproof. Great price too.
  15. Good price on these guys
  16. I used a GoPro 2, just on the basic 720p setting. I picked up a few more SD cards so I think I'm going to go up to 1080p this year. I had a bunch of hits on the ST dipsey, but there always seemed to be someone in the way or couldn't see it too well. I'll try different camera positions this spring. Sent from my SM-N900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Picked up a GoPro late last year so didn't have it for many trips. Hopefully this will help a few of us through the rest of this crappy winter.
  18. we have 4 of these. all are early/mid 90's and still work great
  19. I was observing the ProAm last year, and the team I was observing for suggested I talk a little banana on their buddies boat I was gunna be on. So the next morning when the fishing got slow and they were working on finding a good program, I grabbed my bag, reached in, looked at the capt. and asked if he was hungry and wanted a banana. I'll never forget the look he gave me. I thought for sure I was going overboard. As soon as he and his crew calmed down a bit, I had to spill the beans on the whole deal. So I'm pretty sure they believe in the 'no bananas on board.' I also have a buddy that won't wear Fruit of the Loom anything. Even though there isn't a banana shown, he still doesn't want to risk there being on behind all the fruit.
  20. We did great off riggers last year, mostly pulling harnesses. Cores/coppers were also good. Dipseys were hit and miss for us. We may have to go with longer leads. You're probably going to want to troll slower than 2mph when dragging harnesses, but if you want to go with a dipsey/rigger program, don't be afraid to get up to 3mph pulling sticks. This CAN be effective when the water warms up (73+). Don't be afraid to use coppers over cores either. out 150 and 200' were on fire last year. Did better on those than most of our cores combined.
  21. We do the same for our walleye harnesses. Works great.
