  1. Kyle, nice report and ya got fish, which is important. But your having the same issue as me....finding kings in the morning has been difficult. Very hit and miss and mostly miss or small. I am sure it will improve....or do what I'm doing; take more EVENING trips. Those have been awesome the last 3 weeks
  2. Holy cow or should I say bees! Have never heard of anything like that. Occasionally a bee or two, but it sounds like a queen and its hive got maybe swept/blown out to sea and you were the first "life raft" they found! Anyways, nice report. Stinks when u take out people and can't find fish, only to go back out and get some! Jay
  3. Awesome Steve! I had a good weekend as well, but missed the mark on Saturday morning. I maybe should have worked the 150' -180' water more, instead of the deeper water, but live and learn. I'm on channel 68 if u ever want to talk! Jason
  4. I am by no means anything more than an amateur and weekend warrior when it comes to fishing for trout and salmon. Been fishing for them the last 10 years (8 learning the ropes on other peoples boats) and the last 2 yrs. having got my own boat and putting in many more hours. So here is my observation since the 1st of June. I have taken a total of 11 trips, all out of Pultneyville. 4 morning trips, longer duration 6am to noon/1pmish: - 29 hrs, 23 fish, 0.80 fish/hr or 5.75 fish per trip. Largest fish was a 22lb laker, and 1 king that was all of 12lbs. All the other fish were lakers most under 10lbs, small kings/skippies and small steelies. 7 evening trips, shorter after work and weekends 4-8:30ish: - 28 hrs, 43 fish, 1.5 fish/hr or 6.1 fish per trip. Largest fish all kings 19, 24, 24, 24 and 25 lbs, a ton of lakers, a 12lb brown and some great steelies. I am running virtually identical programs morning and evening, and what I have seen pretty much being used the last 10 years. Mix of spoons & free sliders on the riggers, flasher flies on divers and 4color, 10color and slide diver up top. I don't run over the early inside waters, and I don't hesitate heading deep or trolling lakers on the bottom if I need to find fish. But if I go out in the evening (like this past Friday) and catch fish, including a 24lb king, then hit the exact same water 9 hrs later with the same presentation, and get 3 fish, all small, then come back tonight fish those waters and BOOM, lots more fish and another 24lb king. And this is NOT the first time this season its been like that, don't remember it being like that last summer, but last year was an amazing fishing year.....so what gives? Is it that the lake is still just setting up? Am I doing something bizzaro wrong and killing my morning productivity? I am just floored that my evening catch is basically double the mornings and I don't know why?!?!?! Anyways, just asking for thoughts? Jason
  5. great job and nice report. We struggled east of Rochester here in Pultneyville. Some people found a couple kings here and there, but there was a lot of silence on the radios!
  6. Nice Salmon Nick........I am sure it felt good to finally boat a couple large kings! As for your video, they played fine from my iPhone earlier today, and I saw them as 'videos', but now that I am home on my computer, they appear as links. Not sure why! Jay
  7. It was all of that! Gotta love an evening troll with steady action and a big fish to boot!
  8. Okay....my gamble paid off. A small Steelie took a 4 color pulling the fire frog stinger. I had adjusted all my lines except the deep rigger to be fishing the top 50' of water. This included my favorite white pear glow SD with atom mik blue tournament hammer fly. And just after releasing the Steelie that diver took a slam! Well 400 foot and 15 mins later. A 24 lb king hits the deck! all smiles here. Oh yeah...over 175' fow.
  9. Yeah....I think what I lost was a king and I'm thinking there in here....nothing to lose!
  10. 50 rigger with a orange double crush NK over 165' fow took another 3 lb Steelie
  11. 150' standard dipsy with no ring, pulling a wonderbread stinger just took a beautiful 6 lb bow! Over 175' fow. All fish are hiting high! Speeds for all these are 2.3 to 2.6 at the ball
  12. Darn....10 color took a very nice rip! Had a really good fish on for maybe 2minutes and then gone! . Oh well. Over 165' fow. Gonna work the 150-180' as the hits have been here!
  13. Another Steelie....about 4 lbs on the free slider with a free gator. On a 45' rigger..... And while typing this, exact same set up just took a cookie cutter 4 lb Steelie! And the 10 COlor just took a rip and gone! Out over 175' at the moment heading north, but gonna turn back at them
  14. Finally made it back out at 4:30pm. We are now into our first fish on the 10 color with a Steelie stomper, over 120fow
  15. Yeah..... I saw that king posted on the leader board and thought maybe u handed him the rod!!!! nice fish, hope he posts a pic later!!!
  16. Ps: after talking to u Chris....went in and worked the shallow waters and bite was gone. Had one hit! That's it
  17. I bet it was. Done a lot of solo's and last year it was a 27lbr and this year both a 24 & 25 pounder that had my heart pumping wondering where I was gonna bring it in close enough to net one handed. Lol
  18. Well looks like you have had a Steelie fest and a bunch of drops....ALL of which is better than my day! Except I put on deet and that seemed to take the flies away! And nice reports on the dining. Glad to know more about the area, even if I have lived here all my life! Tight lines
  19. Must of missed you. We came in around 1:30. Then I got gas and a good boat cleaning done!!!! . Back at it tomorrow!
  20. 10 color with a Steelie stomper took a small 3lb Steelie, over 145'fow
  21. Some live report...:but it's slow! Finally took a rip on the 200 diver and a 8-9 lb laker later! Two fish on board! Diver is a mag pulling a white pearl glow SD and blue fly!
  22. Took a rip on the 100 rigger over 200 fow. A green mnt few SD and blue ice fly. But lost it as it got under the port side diver
