  1. AWESOME..... were you fishing in shallow or did you slip out to some deeper water? Glad to hear the docks are in. Will be heading down possibly this afternoon, but definately TOMORROW!
  2. Chris.....way to go! Glad to see your back out. Now take some advice.... if you see any NOAA or other bouy's out there..... STAY AWAY!!!
  3. QUICK QUICK....JUST POSTED MINUTES AGO is a 245 Contender for sale at Sodus Bay. If I didnt already have a 225 Outrage....I would jump on that 245 Contender for that price! Take a look!!!!!!!!!
  4. Lake Ontario - 30lb Big Game Trilene works GREAT for me!
  5. Very nice.... I assume water was stained! Glad to hear all that stuff was in that close to shore. Wonder how today would be if I went out this afternoon???? HMMMMMMMmmmmmmm
  6. Awesome... Hopeing to hit Bear Creek in the next week!
  7. I went down to the ramp on Wednesday evening, after I saw this report. From the breakwall out 6-7 feet into the ramp, there is debris and a large log, but then I can see someone cleared a path for a small trailer to launch from, then more debris heading east towards the actual creek. If I get time this weekend, or next week, I may try and clear the left side (breakwall side) of the ramp, because I really need to be closer to the wall to get my boat off the trailer, well more importantly to re-trailer it than anything. I will update as soon as the ramp is 'more' useable! Jason
  8. AWESOME.....my backyard and last time i was down a couple weeks ago, there was still some ice flows around the mouth. Its great having Ginna so close and all that 'warmed' up water. Cant wait til I am confident I can put my boat in (I/O engine) and start the trolling. Always nice when the boat fires up first turn!!!!
  9. That's awesome to hear. Obviously be safe, for anyone going out this time of the year. I dream of the day I can get a second boat, an aluminum boat with outboard for this time of the year, as well as other fishing. Im pulling the boat out of storage on Friday and working on her this weekend. Still keeping fingers crossed for mid April launch!!!! Now you have me even more excited!!!
  10. At that time of the year you can also use the Coast Guard launch right at the channel and piers. Best bet (IMHO) is to turn left (west) out of the chute and troll the 8-10 fow from the beach, past the lighthouse, all the way to Maxwell Creek and then circle there for awhile. Evil eyes, cleos and stick baits work best. If you have boards (planers) thats the best.
  11. Wow....27yrs old! Amazing!!!! Congrats again Brian...even though I have said it before. Still a lunker of a fish!
  12. Matt, As long as we are preparing so far ahead, will we have 10 foot waves again? Just want to be sure we think of all aspects of the tourney....not just the rules!!!
  13. oh boy......look what I have missed. Good God, what is wrong with the LOC committee. Dont they understand that the reason for ALL the divisions, is so that MORE people can fish in front of their own "area" and have a shot at catching some variety of fish! Yes, all of us from the Oak to Fair Haven (Central Basin) are missing out on Lakers and Steelies. We have to GO WEST in the spring and EAST in the fall to catch fish. Not all of us has unlimited time and funds to dock all over the lake to derby fish. I pay for a slip here and want to fish out front and catch lakers or steelies or whatever is around. Salmon normally are around by the second weekend of the spring LOC, but still not the size of out west. Same in Fall, although there are some staging fish by the Genny, its better to the east....but they are continuing to pare this down to a Salmon derby before all is said and done. Totally frustrated, as many of you as well. Grrrrrrr
  14. i'm sure Hans will even throw in a years supply of banana's to sweeten the deal! Just Sayin!
  15. Awesome and still better than sitting at home. Winter will be here fast, so any fishing is good!
  16. Yeah, wonderbread has been good lately. And if it makes any difference, I also picked up a 10" smallie on a mixed veggie stinger in the 30' rigger! Lol
  17. Well here is a live update. Just sort of landed a 20lb salmon. Fishing a couple miles west of Sodus in 40-50fow. Hooked into a mature king on a slide diver set 200' back with a wonderbread stinger. Fish ran me to 606 foot and after 20 mins had her side of the boat, when she made a run for freedom and took my wonderbread with her. But a Heck of a fight, so no complaints. Definitely was and easy release...LMAO. Definitely marks in here as stated above. Will post more if I get more!
