  2. 1995 Penn Yan 225 Outrage Hardtop 1995 Penn Yan 225 Outrage Hardtop $10,000 or B/O Fully Rigged and ready to fish! Boat can be seen and test driven at Arney’s Marina in Sodus Bay. Engine is a 4.3L V6 Alpha One with 4700 hrs showing on the counter. However the engine was rebuilt in the spring of 2011 and has about 600 new hours on that. Previous owner was a charter captain out of Oswego, hence the high hours. Boat has been serviced by Arney’s Marina the last 4 years, (Pugsley’s Marina before that) with routine oil changes every 50-60 hours. Engine was tuned-up summer 2016, with new plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotors. Prop replaced summer 2016. Bellows were replaced spring 2017. Winterized and stored either indoors or shrink wrapped last 5 years, I have owned it. With the V6 engine, it cruises at 25-26mph at 3000 RPMS, while also averaging 1.25gallons per hour, between running out, trolling all day and running back. (The benefit to the V6 versus the V8 models.) Tank is single 45 gallon capacity. Trailer is a LoadRite, tandem axel. Beam is 8’6” so legal to tow with no additional permit. I believe the full loaded weight is around 5500 lbs total, with full tank and rigging. Trim Tabs Comes with: 3 Big Jon electric down riggers with 150-200 foot of line, a 12lb downrigger ball, a 12 & a 15lb torpedo weight, 2 10 lb pancake weights and an 8lb ball I use for spring browns. Each Big Jon has plate with 2 rod holders. There is already a mount for a forth rigger if desired. Two Big Jon planner reals, with 150’ of line each and 2 Super-Ski planer boards. Lowrance HDS 7 Graph and Chartplotter FishHawk 840 Probe for downspeed and Temp, w/2 probes (spares are nice, have learned the hard way) Lowrance Sonar attached, but was told cable is bad and needed to be replaced. I have never needed and therefore not replaced. Raymarine SportPilot Auto-Pilot system installed and operational. Swim platform with ladder. 2 Bert Tracks each with 2 Rod holders. 6 rod holders on hardtop mounted arch, 2 more mounted on hand rails, and 6 more rod holders mounted on rear inside above the doghouse. In all there are 24 rod holders. Boat has 2 outrigger mounts still attached, that I now use for holding Nets, as I did get rid of the outriggers themselves. One picture of the boat shows the outriggers on it, but they are no longer there, just the mounts. AM/FM Radio, CD Player, w/USB Port for listening to music. 2 rear facing spot lights for inside the boat. One Hardtop mounted Spotlight added in 2014. Washdown pump, hose and nozzle. Auto-Bilge Ship-to Shore radio Ritchie Compass Anchor, rope with chain leader All Rear Cushions, Cuddy with Porta-Potty Buoys, ropes included Personal rods and fishing equipment NOT included. You can contact me, Jason, via LOU PM or on my mobile 315-604-2443 (text or call) , for more information or to schedule a visit. Thank you.
  3. You could also do a gimble mounted rod holder, that just comes out when not in use! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. And my go to is a white Double UV spindoctor with a green hammer fly Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. You can run a diver down the chute, with the diver setting on zero, almost like your running a copper down the chute, just be careful turning and keep your leads on the riggers on the shorter side, like less than 10-15 feet.... nothing worse than catching your lures on the wire. But anytime you run something down the chute, you will have to clear it, if you get a fish on the rigger and that is not fun. It is worth it to find a mount to run the diver as intended out of the way, off to the side and down away from riggers. IMHO Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. No, my dumb luck as well. I literally have not switched lures the last 4 times out...... Green Spoons, on riggers with Green sliders above, set 85-110' down have taken shots. Wire divers from 225-300' back, on various settings from 1 to 3, all with white or white/green spin doctors and a variety of green flies. Went 2 for 3, then 10 for 14, then 4 for 6, then 5 for 7. Kings from 2lbs to 21lbs, steelies from 4-8 lbs, 3 browns upto 7 lbs and few lakers upto 12 lbs. Literally a smorgasbord all in 115-165fow, east of the chute mostly, on east west trolls. ALSO, key element has been speed. Been running more over 3.0mpg, SOG then normal. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon will be as good! .
  7. I did, after the 3 bass, one carp and lots of sunfish, I figured the trout and salmon didn't get the message.

  9. So hard to decide what to do. I did manage to bring up the 12lb laker from 143fow on a dipsy (mind you mag diver, #1 setting, White pearl glow SD and green A-TOM-MIK fly) and then a nice coho (6lbs) on a slider hit with a wonderbread in about 135fow, but only down 45' on the rigger, so I image the free slider was about 25-30foot. Saw LOTS of bait from a mile east of Hughes all the way to Pultneyville, in anywhere from 110-140 fow. Most only down 20-40 foot. Lot of stained water and some temp breaks between 40-55 foot down, depending on how far east or west, or north/south. But getting fish to bite is insane, no matter how many color changes, speed and depth changes or direction changes. There were a couple of other short hits, one battle with a 5 foot stick on a monkey puke spoon (in case you wanted to know the depths of my changing lures out) and hear of one good 200 copper rip over 300fow, but I didn't want to venture off the bait pods to check the deeper water. YES its transition time, waiting for July to come around, but honestly, (outside of browns, and some lakers) fishing last year and here for SILVER fish has been much worse than the ~5 years prior. Just seem to move right past to OZtown!

  11. Yes, it is usable. The docks are in and a solid 8-12" above the water level. They have done a great job this year keeping it clean. Just make sure you get your pass, they have been checking a lot! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

    for sale: can Boat 4sale

Awesome boat, would like to see some interior pics? Does it have shore power hookup? I understand it doesn't have outdrives, but where it is located, could outdrives be purchased and installed? The drive across the lake once spring comes would not be hard...at least for me... But need to understand. Also, not sure if one or both chartplotters are or are not included? Jason
  14. PS: Is this what you do on your week off and temps are in the 60's!
  15. YOUR KILLING ME SMALLS. I will make you an offer you cant refuse. Half the dock fees and fill up the tank, you can use it anytime you want, Ryan!!!!!
  16. What an amazing boat for the money...... and having fished on it, its well worth it at $7K with the riggers, autopilot and misc equipment. To bad I already have a Penn Yan of my own....and next jump will be 30' plus!! Or I would be all over this! PS: Just make sure you get all that laker slime off the deck!
  17. And yet yesterday in that same water, they wanted orange and my greens never fired once. GREEN flies however were going, especially off white/pearl glow Spindoctors. Managed one 20 lb king, but there were a few other 20-30 kings done in that 45-60 fow yesterday. Finished 3 for 4 on a solo trip, so I am not complaining.... but again, its not hot and heavy, my brown and king came in 5 minutes of each other, and then the next brown and the whatever I lost on the 10 color, came within 15 minutes of each other.... the other 7 hrs I never moved a rod! LOL
  18. Worst year I have seen, with more skunks than I can count. Normally bad days were 2-3 fish, good days 8-10+ fish, and 1-2x being skunked. This year, best day was 8 fish, had more than a dozen skunks, landed one darn Major (that was this weekend) and while I lost a few, I was averaging 1-3 fish most outings and if not for a few nice 10# steelies, some lakers and browns here and there, it would have been better to fish for smallmouth! If it weren't for a lot of other people having bad days and a lot of that from Rochester basin to Fair haven, I would have said it was me, but I know it wasn't. Fishing West off the Niagara was good from what I heard and saw, and OZ definitely had some action, but the inbetween seemed VERY hit and miss.......and I definitely missed more than I should have. If they reduce the stocking numbers like they are talking about, I am thinking their will be a lot more years like this.
