  1. Thanks Sean, but I'm not looking to spend that much at this time.
  2. Merry Christmas is right. Hope everyone made out as well as I did!
  3. I'm looking to add a bow unit for jigging. I already have the sonar/gps combo at the helm, and I would just like to add an affordable quality sonar in the bow so I can stay on fish while jigging. Does anyone have any experience with this unit? I found a new one on Ebay for $150, and it seems like a good deal. Any other suggestions on units would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Alex
  4. I'm looking to invest in another sonar for my boat. Currently have one GPS combo unit, and I'm looking for a quality color sonar. I would prefer a color sonar only but I'm open to anything at this point. Thanks guys, Alex
  5. Just received my dairy for region 8 this will be my second year contributing. I can't wait to be back out there, this winter can't go fast enough. I ended the season in November by breaking off what I'm sure would have been my largest trout to date, it doubled a 7' MH jigging rod and bit through a 30lb flouro leader. You can only imagine my heartache and anticipation, next season that fish won't be so lucky. I'm sure most of you guys contribute to the program, I just wanted to try and breath some life into the forum during this downtime!
  6. Cowbell with a sutton on the bottom is hard to beat for lakers.
  7. We slammed them on a green dot spinny with a black strip down the side.
  8. What brand rod and reed would you recommend for a 300'?
  9. I hear you, those 4x4 tires aren't cheap...
  10. Hi Pete, I fish Owasco, so I am primarily after lakers but I target browns and bows with my leadcore rods. I also run sliders which has worked well on the rainbows.
  11. Well with my fishing season officially ended by breaking off what was surely the biggest trout I will ever encounter... its now time to start planning ahead and getting ready for next season. Currently I have a fairly basic setup 2 riggers and 2 leadcores. I would like to add 1 dipsy and 1 copper rig, but I would also like some suggestions on what better options maybe? One thing to keep in mind is that space is limited in the boat, and I'm not looking to spend a ton of money. Any lures or other gear suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also feel free to post what you wish list is!
  12. Thanks Ray, that was my guess as well. Without markings it's hard to be sure.
  13. I am in the market for a chute rod as well... What are you running on your chute rod? Spoon or F/Fs?
  14. Can anyone identify the 4 spoons on the right. Also the 3 copper finish spoons with the tape on the bottom left, they are called moosalamoo shoe-horns. I don't know anything about them other than that they are almost identical to Suttons in size and weight. Anyone have any experience using them? Thanks in advance!
  15. I love the palomar. I downloaded the north American fishing club app called knot wars. Totally awesome and free!
  16. Not sure where exactly your talking about but I did take your advice on the leadcore with spoons. We have taken several lakers and the bow over the last few trips, very effective with a 7, 8, and 9 color.
  17. Fished the lake hard this weekend. Battled high winds cold temps, and some fair sized waves for a smaller lake. That being said we struggled to catch fish. Finally made it out late Friday after waiting for the lake to calm down around 5:30 and fished until 6:30. Caught 3 small lakers in short order, the first fish hit my rigger while the rod was still in my hand. Saturday spent the day with my brother father and cousin. We threw everything we had at them, (jigging and trolling) literally emptied the tackle boxes. No luck at all until just before dark, took a beautiful 18 inch rainbow on a 7 color core and Sutton spoon compliments of Irishbailey. It seems the rainbows are starting to make a come back which is awesome news! Saw lots of bass boats out, I assumed a club tourney. Anyone have any information on the results? Unfortunately he had the hook deep so we kept him.
