  1. I use nail polish from a cheap air brush. Works Great!
  2. Jigged the north end both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday ended up 7 for maybe 20? Tons of hits tons of bait but the bite slowed way down around 1. Landed some beautiful and very healthy fish most in the 5-7lb class. The screen was loaded no matter where we fished. Sunday was a much different story, same huge bait balls but fewer nice big fish marks around the bait. Landed 3 out of about 6. Interestingly 2 of the trout landed today had been caught and it was nice to see 1. That fisherman are practicing catch and release 2. The released fish are benefiting from being released and not just falling to the bottom! Overall, jigging is tough. I have a new found appreciation for those who can consistently catch fish jigging, and the fish themselves for being much more lively on the lighting tackle. Average fish from the weekend
  3. Awesome rainbows, just a hair bigger then mine. HA
  4. I'll see you guys out there is weekend!
  5. Awesome job Mark. Sorry I never emailed you back, never made it out this weekend but we will be out for sure next weekend.
  6. The only walleye I've caught recently (years) was a large female, around 8 lbs. Placed her in the well because she had some serious blood coming from the gills, we assumed she wouldn't survive. 2 hours later when we hit the dock the fish was lively and healthy. Took a nice photo and let her go. Feels great when your able to let a good one free.
  7. I agree. I use them on my riggers for spoons mostly as the upper stacked line. They make the 3lbers feel like 10s with light line. [ Post made via Android ]
  8. Awesome rainbow. How do you like those "whuppin sticks" ? [ Post made via Android ]
  9. Hey Angle, We were out of Oswego also on Sunday, Marked a good number of fish right around 100FOW at the break but only had one release with no one home. We were the small green starcraft getting battered haha.
  10. I knew lake trout are technically Char but, i had never seen any this beautiful. I guess I don't fish late enough in the fall to see how nice they really can be. Thanks for the info.

  12. Thanks for all your help guys, no luck. Had a rough time in the small boat, gave up after about an hour and half. One release with no one home, and donated a ball to the bottom...
  13. Fished the northern few miles of Owasco on Saturday (9/15) from 6:45AM to 9:00AM and 2PM-415PM. Went 8 for 13. I caught a serious case of the drops including 3 in a row after solid hookups. All 5 fish that came unbuttoned did so when I was fighting them... Anyway, flasher fly (see below) doing most of the damage down deep. Huge bait balls with big hooks all over them on the screen. One laker even spit up a few tiny tiny 1 inch long alewives. The fishing was some of the best I've experienced trolling. All rods took fish, both riggers set between 100-65. Both leadcore rods each took a fish as well, a 7 color and 9 color. Also caught one beautiful laker the prettiest I've seen with no clips what so ever, possibly a wild fish? As good as Saturday was, Sunday was a nightmare. First trip to Ontario, didn't last to long. Long story short no fish, did have one release with no one home, but we donated a ball and 75 feet of cable to the bottom. I think we'll keep the starcraft on the fingers and leave Ontario to the big boys, I learned my lesson. Big thanks to trollingkeuka for the new rods and reels, work great! thanks again. Nice average fish, first 2 we caught were a bit larger. The SD/fly combo As always thanks to everyone for all your help
  14. Thanks Chris, I have my river rods packed just in case we strike out in on the lake. I have a good assortment of J-plugs that I painted up fresh last night. I'm looking forward to trying out some of my new lures and seeing how things work out for us. I appreciate the advice, and I'll update this thread when we get back Sunday night.
  15. Any advice for experienced trollers going for their first trip out on the big lake? We have an average weekend warrior setup consisting of 2 manual riggers, 2 cores (1 full and 1 7 color) and 1 dipsy. Also, have a decent variety of spoons, spinies, sticks and flies. Just looking for any last tips anyone can give before I pack and leave for the weekend. We will be launching out of Oswego and just lining up with the pack I'm assuming. I was wondering though, would it be worth it to head out deeper and look for numbers of immatures rather then fight the crowd? Any tips would be appreciated look forward to seeing you up there! Thanks
  16. HA JV team, that's great! Anyway, nice job and great looking screens.
  17. Curious about that myself... Anyone?
  18. Do the western lakes have them? I heard rumors but I didn't know it was confirmed? This is horrible news...
  19. I run a similar setup fishing just south of the scout camp. Riggers set at 96 and 76 fishing close to the bottom. Leadcore off the board produced well in the spring but hasn't done anything for me in months.
  20. I'm interested as well but like TCON said pics would be nice, and you stopped returning my emails.
