  1. Welcome, Take a look around the forum you will find lots of great captains to help you out.
  2. The only LL I've ever caught came from keuka. Surprised the heck out of us when the downrigger Fired then a small salmon came leaping out of the water.
  3. I was trying to find some, no luck
  4. Will these fit any cannon? I have the smaller boom manuals so the obviously can't be front mounted but will they mount on the back?
  5. How do you plan on your rig? I'd like to buy a few but I'm not sure about loongline/downrigger/planer?
  6. I did not eat the cisco. I was fishing northern Quebec at the time, after landing it the local I was fishing with called it an F#&%ing chub and proceeded to kill the fish and toss it overboard. He explained the cisco's are out competing game fish for food, and they grow quickly which only makes them prey for large predators like pike. It was very shocking, and to this day I'm still confused by it still think it was the wrong, but who was I to say. Alex
  7. Alright Pete, I don't mean to step on your toes but you inspired me to make my own list. I'll be 24 in July, so I've still got sometime. Haha Freshwater Brook Trout Rainbow Trout Brown Trout Tiger trout Lake Trout King Salmon Cutthroat Palomino Blue Gill PumpkinSeed Sunfish Rock Bass White Crappie Bullhead Catfish Channel Catfish Yellow Perch Walleye Chain Pickerel Northern Pike American Eel Northern Sucker Red Sucker White Sucker American Shad Largemouth Bass Smallmouth Bass Freshwater Drum Cisco Saltwater Striper Bluefish Dogfish Sea Robin Croaker Fluke Skate Saltwater Drum
  8. Hey Pete, Awesome list I'm from PA and fished the Delaware for shad many times. Its a good time but it takes a lot of practice. Best of luck on your quest PS: no walleye?
  9. who makes the spoons with wings (for lack of a better term), and what are they called.
  10. Yeah I need some new ones for sure. I'm thinking ball bearing, because so far I've only used standard swivels with no success.
  11. Crazy weather can't help any, the fish are probably as confused as we are. Almost 60 in January?
  12. I have walleye boards with the tattle flag system, and 12lb suffix lead core. Will the 12lb be strong enough to stand up to the clips? I really don't want to have to splice in mono like mentioned above, but I don't want to be losing my line or boards either. Any advice? Please and Thank you alex
  13. haha love the response wes, Yeah i certainly plan on taking mark up on his offer. I'm guilty of helping others spend their money on gear also, but on a much smaller scale haha. I live in Pennsylvania, and fish all the streams in my area. An ultra light trout rod and a few spinners is a lot less expensive then a boat full of riggers and trolling outfits. Anyway see you at derby hopefully this year we will catch some fish worth weighing! thanks alex
  14. Haha thanks Sean, When I pick one up I'll probably spend more time fishing for information then trout.
  15. Hey everyone, We run a small 17 and 1/2 starcraft, and we don't have an onboard radio. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me about their radios. I have a ton of CBs and antennas for them but from what I've heard most guys have VHF etc...
  16. Those are awesome pictures everyone, after all I've learned I'm hoping to pick up some Owasco rainbows and browns this spring. However, I'll fish for anything that swims... Owasco Walleye
  17. We can only hope the atlantics will take hold. They are a native species, and should be respected. After spending a weekend fishing the salmon river last fall i spotted several groups of young atlantics cruising the shallows, gave me hope that they are doing well.
  18. Will cowbells with spin n glows work in the finger lakes for trout also? Fishing seems to be fairly the same just smaller fish and shallow water.
  19. do you guys have any photos of your homemade releases? I've been working on a few designs also
