  1. I have loads of J-plugs to, anyone use them? I'm going to put one down this weekend.
  2. Any Idea on what it weighs? I'm interested just not sure I can pull it.
  3. Have a mix of 2 11" paddle flashers and 1 goldstar dodger. Mix of assorted spoons and 2 sticks. Spoons include silver streak, evil eye, and luhr Jensen. Some nice classic patterns. Also 1 pro-troll with an e-chip. Will post pictures soon. $25 pickup in Auburn or shipped USPS
  4. I had a similar issue when adding riggers to my boat. We have a 17ft V starcraft essentially the same boat. Our final decision was to mount the riggers ahead of the glass in the bow. The main reasoning for this was that we would be able to keep our eyes forward while trolling without having to constantly look back. If you have any questions shot me a PM!
  5. The fish are there for sure. Marked huge bait balls and fish all weekend but pretty deep still. Seemed like 120 FOW was the magic number. We trolled in closer to shore looking for browns, had one short strike nothing else. The lakers were going on FF rigs white and green. Hope that helps
  6. We have walleye boards with the tattle flags. Currently have them rigged so the flag goes down with a fish. I have the rod perp to gunwale but we kept the tips pretty high. Is that correct? Ive learned a ton on here about them but i'm never opposed to good advice. The boards run great pulls the core and big deep divers without issue. Thanks! [ Post made via Android ]
  7. Finally got on the water this morning in less then ideal conditions, left the dock at 9 with a strong north wind and an air temp of 38. We trolled north from our house to Burtis marking loads of fish from 50ft all the way to bottom. Once we hit Burtis picked up a nice laker off the starboard inline. As soon as that fish was landed and released the port board with a 6 color core took another nice laker. Both fish came on sticks, with no action on the riggers no matter what was down. Had one fish take the board under for about 10 minutes but by the time we unhooked the board the fish was off. Overall, not a bad trip for our first time fishing planers and leadcore. Only negative was we had something come and bite off our hot lure. (Pre-rapala Jr. Thunderstick) Sorry for the lack of photos, but who cares to see a 5lb LT anyway. I was wondering though, have you ever had a fish take an inline board under for that long, and whats the best way to get it back to the surface? Slow down and left it float up while still keeping tension on the fish perhaps...? Thanks for the help!
  8. Awesome Picture! I'm hoping to get out and fish Owasco this weekend.
  9. Couldn't agree more, they may not produced the huge sizes you see consistently in the greats but as far as diversity of species, and sheer beauty you would be hard pressed to find another chain of lakes in the northeast U.S that can match ours.
  10. Awesome job, any size to the browns?
  11. Forgot about Keuka, but your right they are there.
  12. Anyone have a favorite color or size spin n glo?
  13. I bought one off ebay a few weeks ago. I plan on running small spoons on them off the planers. We'll see what happens haha
  14. I recently bought some spin n glos at a tackle swap. What colors if any do you prefer?
  15. I was having a conversation while trout fishing today with a guy about what he considers essential "never leave home without" lures. So it had me thinking, what do you guys consider never leave the dock without? There is some obvious ones of course, boat, fuel, riggers, safety equipment, sandwiches, so on and so forth. Personally, something I never leave behind is my box of stickbaits. I always no matter what time of the year have a nice chrome stick working of a rigger. Anyone care to weigh in on what their favorite go to, or never leave behind setup is?
  16. We troll a lot of yo-zuri sticks will nice results
  17. I watched a fishing show (can't remember the name of it) but they were fishing the Columbia river on the west cost. They wore thick gloves to protect themselves, but from what I understand only the ocean going species have the very sharp plating.
  18. They are a truly incredible species. Very long lived, and armorer plated a true dinosaur! I've never caught one, and I'm jealous of all that have.
  19. 4th of July on Owasco Skinny water salmon The front yard is where you park your boat
