  4. Love it, I know it's too late this year but maybe later or next years tourney we should build a 1st annual north vs south derby. We could call it "not where the West was won", but where the "Northenders" won it instead Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Nice going! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  6. Thanks Les, boats running, just some nick nack stuff I want to take care of. Just hoping for some better weather than last year. By the way, I can remember back shooting the states archery 3 D shoot one year in the finals, I held my hat for a guy that was shooting in our group to block the sun out while he was taking his shot, after he shot a perfect 10, another guy asked why I did that, I said " if I end up beating him, theres not going to be any execuses......" So to the southenders, no execuses.......lol
  7. If someone is looking for a steering kit, HK4200A, I've got one that I just put on but not happy with how the lines are in my splash well. Call me anal. Anyway I put the teleflex cable back in. So before I put this on Ebay, pm if your interested. The only thing that I have changed are the hose lengths for my size boat and had a back plate fabricated for my steering column if needed. It has a HC4645H ram that it came with for my 115 Evinrude. 528.00 was what I paid this past March plus shipping. Let me know if your interested or if you have questions.
  8. Hit the lake before Mother's Day breakfast for a quick shot. Realized after getting boat in I forgot a couple of flatline rods. Lake was glass at first light, man did I want to stalk the shallows. Anyway, hit the deep waters to see if anything was lurking out there, sure enough, still deep with loads of bait. Shaping up for a good solid derby. We averaged 8-9 lbs with a stud pushing 13. He was tossed back as the others and should be hungry again in a couple of weeks just in time. Stayed up in the home grown north end as always. Good to get out for some quick practice. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  9. Sorry to hear Mike, trying to decide on Saturday if were going up to the Bar, Rochester or IBay. Let me know if your interested.
  10. Cody, agree with everyone else on the resin comments and drilling the holes, filling with epoxy prior to putting back in. I personally would use resin between the ply wood to bond, then coat the entire transom in it. Also 5200 is great for those bolts when you tighten them up and anything else below the waterline. Dont skimp and use just any regular silicone. For the paint question, suggest using a primer that has the Zinc Chromate in it for bonding. Sounds like your on your way.
  11. I'll stand tall with ya Les! Guess I'm in that category........lol Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  12. Cody, just went through a similar process this past winter. Let me know if you need any help or questions. I know how you felt when you opened it up. It sucks I know but you feel glad once she's new again. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  18. Man, now that's a rig Ed. Very nice! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  19. Very good questions. I would suggest starting shallow 15-20 first let the wind drift you through casting and dragging to spot pick your first fish. Once you hit one cast for the second. Keep a market buoy handy. If there not there work deeper. If the wind is right you can always ancor on a shelf and let more rope out to test new deeper water. Also try tying off to opposite sides on you boat to get the most swing of new water to cast. Keep close eye on depth finder if you can see fish near bottom. If no hits pull up move down 100 yds try it again. Don't give up. Seneca Gold is there. I'm sure others can chime in as well. I'm only a novice Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. Thanks guys. She's definitely worth it, she's been a hell of a boat for me since 93. How did you do on the perch Les? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. John, just to add to what the gang mentioned, don't forget, when the lake is calm it's going to be tough, also watch your ancor and motor. Spooks them like the dickens. An old timer once told me your better off floating around trying to find them then to keep motoring around, then electric trolling motors came out......... Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  22. Well, boat is ready for water, finally, overall two month project, we'll put her in tomorrow for water test and see how the hull handles..... Back from the painter, he did great. Boat rigged and ready. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  23. Good to hear..... Maybe even before the derby...... Got her back this morning, My painter did an awesome job of matching the OMC paint to the rest of the boat. Caulk, motor, hook up new steering, water test. paint.bmp
  24. Thanks Les. Couldn't of pulled it off with some family help as well. Plus still have to work that beast of a motor back on. Hope all has been well with you on your recovery. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. Well it's been roughly a month on this Transom project. Put it back together, riveted it and It's time for paint. Brought it to the paint shop this morning. Can't wait for it to be done, hook up the new steering, few drain plugs and we should be set. Proud to say this will be my last transom project. Lol. All in all glad it's near completion. Now it's time to clean out my mess in the garage. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
