Went out this am with Signalman for the first LO trip. Didn't really know where to start with all of the mixed reports due to the cold temps. Yep, it was cold, 47 on top 40 down 40ft. Started out in 50 started moving out, bang first king, Mike did a great job fighting. Next up Lead core fires another King? Lost at the boat, uggg , another rip and a what felt like a pig laker before it was off we called it a day. Nice day to be out. Hope it's a sign of good things to come. JD, I just installed Nautalex vinyl flooring from www.rochfordsupply.com Couldn't find it locally. Got samples from http://www.garysupholstery.com/request.html, which was a big help before I finally selected between carpet and vinyl. Hope it helps.

Chas, what I did find out with the NEMA 2000, still struggle with the understanding but my Elite 7 which does have the output NEMA 2000 cant be tied to the system network to be able to route the AP. At least after talking to Lowrance, they said I had to upgrade. So im not sure what I would get with it tied to the system other than it reading a heading?

Raymarine Evo-100, ran like a charm, pressed the auto button, locked in, laughed it was so freaking awesome. Just make sure what ever model you end up getting check to make sure it has the most updated software, mine didn't when I got it, sent it back to get it done for free, little pain in the butt, but learned the hard way, Raymarine you need a separate system / unit to down load the software. Do your math, Raymarine is 1100.00 if you have hydraulic, if you don't, add 600.00 for steering. If you go with Lowrance for cable steer, you need an HDS unit to run it, if you don't, add that cost to it. In the end youll find its about the same cost as your other options.

Sorry to hear the struggle Les, that lake is indeed an up and down lake from one day to the next. He's something strange bobby told me yesterday, while going out on a dock to do some work he noticed 2 nice Browns 4-5 lbs hovering in the shade. When they saw him the darted out away from the dock but quickly shot back when they hit the sun. Almost like vampires. Back to the dock they went. With him standing there. Water was crystal clear. Great Lakes Lure Co birthday.
Frogger replied to Great Lakes Lure Maker's topic in Tackle and Techniques
Happy Birthday! Mr Oaks and wish you a wonderful day with many many more to come. What a great lure / company you and Jason have made Great Lakes come to be. I'll have to get down to Elmira soon and restock some of my Oakie Dokies. Still have some of your originals when you came into Spin Line in Geneva back in the day. Best Wishes! Ed, if you had room, maybe someone else suggested as well, sorry if they did, but how about next to the yellow placard for boat limitations. At an angle facing upwards with the back (top) against the carpet almost under the dash where it's out of the weather or mostly. That's where I ended up with mine. pro/am "Open" tourny
Frogger replied to campwheeler's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
I hope to possibly get in one of those sometime soon, and I see both sides, but as an amateur, ( I don't fish for income) tournaments should be geared towards the participant's and the level they can compete in. If that means its an open division, that means its open to anyone, If tournaments want to have an amateur division, they should have criteria in it that states your just that and no more. Yea I know, if you dont like it don't fish it and that little boats can win big agains big boats, In reality though, the participants and the income of such tournaments is what drives these to be successful. How many amateurs are you losing of not entering vs charter captains ( professionals) of not getting in because they worry about being shamed if they enter the amature division. Probably not too many but that's just a guess. I have yet to get in one and like I said hope to soon, I really am not out to try and show someone up that makes a living doing it nor am I saying I could, I just want to be able to go out have fun, be part of the crowd, interact, and say hey, damn that was cool, Id do that again.
