  1. i took this off my boat at the end of this season, looking to upgrade for next season.i have had this f/f for three seasons and it works great.come with transducer with surface temp. sensor, surface speed wheel, mounting bracket, and user manual.unit is in perfect working order.if you need pics. or specifics on this unit call me or google it.company that bought eagle is navico marine.$150.00 shipped.315-357-4337.
  2. thanks guys, looking forward to running a bigger spread this season.
  3. thanks guys,i know its about practice, but if i can get pointed in the right direction to start, that helps alot, thanks again.is it april yet????
  4. i checked all the companies i know of and they were all the same as what you have found.im looking for a couple to try for next season,im gona wait and see over the winter if i can find a good deal on them,if not, some places offer no tax and or free shipping, thats about the best you can do.good luck.the other thing you can do is order from bass pro, they have an offer that you can pay, interest free over 6 months, makes it easier to swallow, thats what i did when i bought my fish hawk, bought it this time of year and was paid for come next season.
  5. seeing is how there hasnt been many posts lately and im already craving spring and getting back on the lake,i thought id throw this out there.im looking for advice on running dipseys and copper off the boards.to start off, this past season was my second on the lake and my first playing with copper.i ran a 5 rod spread, two riggers, two dipseys and a copper down the chute, worked well, not many tangles and by the end of the season i was very comfortable and cofident running the 5 rod spread.id like to try to run two coppers off the boards this coming season and leave the chute open.a few questions i have are, which to send out first, how far out the boards need to be as to not tangle with dipseys, and what setting to run the dipseys at,again,to help keep them away from coppers.thiking about this set up,i find it hard to figure out how to keep the dipseys and copper from tangling.any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
  6. there should be on one side or the other of the mounting bracket a flat head screw to manualy put the motor down.
  7. hey bazooka,i assume its not good to run braid through the release?
  8. fleettracker,i cant give you much as this was my first season using copper, but as far as tying from copper to leader and or backing i used the spro swivels and they worked fine for me,the only thing i didnt do this year that i will next year is either use hot glue or shrink tube over the copper at the swivel cause the copper tends to unravel after a few passes through the guides, also, this wasnt one of your questions, but i will put it out there anyway,is make sure you use heavy duty, quality metal pole holders,i didnt listen to the posts here and lost my first copper set up,dont be foolish like me!!!very expensive mistake
  9. i havent heard much about this system,so i went to their web site and did some research,my main concern i found is that it states that you will have interference if your motor runs above 800 rpm's.so if you have a kicker pushing a bigger boat and the wind is blowing, you will be above 800 rpm's.i have used the fish hawk x-4 for two years now and have had no problems,im out almost every weekend and replaced the 4 aa batteries once all season.same price as the smart troll with one probe.looks like each probe with the smart troll costs around 125 bucks.i fished a few boats this past summer that used the moore sub-troll and they seemed to have problems with connector on the rigger making contact and had to put a wet rag around it to make contact, seemed like a problem to me.just my two cents.
  10. if you are looking to go that route, you may want to buy it from don,i contacted cannon because i am looking into digitroll's and they told me they are not making the cannonlink anymore,so you will have to find a used one.
  11. wow, thats a hell of a price,i sure have wasted alot of money over the years!!!!thanks for the info guys
  12. i should have put in my first post,i am talking about 2 stroke oil.
  13. i was in gander mountain the other day and came to the oil isle and was looking at prices.mercury and yamaha oil was between 45 and 55 dollars for a gallon, they had a gallon of starbright oil, synthetic tcw-3,made for all brands of outboards for 28 bucks,i have always used name brand oils in all my sleds and boat motors, but if oil is oil,why spend the extra money???anyone use "aftermarket oil" in their motors?
  14. i had one of my side curtains replaced on mw 22 ft walkaround this summer at life time docks and canvas repairs in sandy pond.he told me there are 3 quality grades to choose from, the cheapest he dont even use cause its junk, the highest quality is very expensive,so i went with the mid-grade,cost me 180 bucks, which i thought was a good price,as this is a good size piece of plastic.thier number is 315-387-5481,also another quality guy is geordie magee in brewerton, little expensive, but quality work,315-676-7679.
  15. thanks guys, ill be shopping this winter for a pair of 10's.
  16. thanks yankee, funny you replied,i was on cannons web site and looked at there pro staff and saw your name,so i went to your web site and spent the next hour looking at your pics and reading your reports, you guys rock!!!i was looking at the 5's cause they are a little cheaper, but if you have to buy a humminbird finder and the cannon link, which i believe they dont make any more,im better off just buying the 10's.just a big chunk off change to lay out,but i like the features these riggers have.i assume if you are using them they are reliable,im not very confident with computerized stuff and hate to spend that kinda money and have problems, guess ill start looking for a few more snow plow accounts this winter!!!!thanks again
  17. i am thinking of getting a pair of digitroll 5's this winter and was wondering what you guys think of these.also, was wondering what else you need to buy to make the bottom track feature work.thanks in advance.
  18. i have a fish finder,gps,and vhf.call me for more info.315-357-4337.jason
  19. i have used the x-4 for 2 years now and no problems at all.put new batteries in the beginning of the season and i use it almost every weekend.as far as inboards,i would either talk to someone at fish hawk about it or hopefully someone on here can give you some advise.thinking about going to the x-4d next year.
  20. i will be up this coming friday through sunday,if anyone is interested in this boat, this will be the weekend to go for test ride.i dont have pics,so dont ask.
