  1. A lot of brook trout in 9 mile creek as well, scenery not as nice as adks
  2. I hooked a Muskie on a crappie tube while I was catching crappies & perch in cassadaga lake
  3. I was at skaneateles Sunday, saw 2 boats on north end. We were shore fishing mallows and worms, no wind & no action. It was a beautiful day though! So a long answer to nothing worthy to report!
  4. Obviously in addition to what Ivan is saying re: pop density. People catch walleyes to eat more than anything, catching big ones are fun but main focus is for food. Tigers are caught for fun more than anything (although not bad to eat either), so bigger the fish bigger the fun hence more release
  5. Can't believe no one bought this, it looks great. Good luck!
  6. Fishinny nice fish! Jealous of you guys getting out already!!
  7. All this anecdotal, emotional appeal does not help your case, period. Is what this king guy says as he paints a picture of the guy who's too proud too collect unemployment so he is fishing or the poor guy just grinding it out to feed his family. I dgaf if people sell fish or don't you're just over the top w the stories, ignoring the dudes who do it bc they are greedy and don't follow the rules and ruin it for the few good people doin it right
  8. John gaulke is great FL guide fingerlakesanglingzone.com
  9. I would tie to a snap or o ring for the spoons. I have done well on northerns on Mepps w the buck tail. Spinner baits too!
  10. Love to hear this so many companies don't care about their customers. My next lure order is definitely going to be from them. Have been hearing a lot of good things on this site
  11. Lake is locked up as far as I can tell. Didn't actually drive to the south end but people were fishing out of park and restaurant
  12. Great day on Otisco today (weather more so than fishing). Got out w a friend and hammered the gills at the dam. Tiger action was a little slow for us, we lost 2 at the hole. One of them was decent, prob pushing a keeper size. Saw lots of people catching fish, nothing special on the tiger front from what I could see. Saw some nice crappies but I couldn't get any. Just nice to get out during this warm winter.
  13. That's what we count on the professionals for, to let us know the amount of fish that can be kept and allow there to continue to be fish to catch. Maybe one of those people you see with a stronger caught fish all week and only decided to keep that day. Shouldn't be judge mental on what others choose to do with their catch
  14. Syracuse.com comments section is just people trolling non stop on most articles
  15. Tony Fontana. Good dude we got a tarpon triple 2 years ago in May, also caught some sharks and a cobia http://naplessaltwaterfishing.com/category/naples-fishing-home/
  16. Yes I do think raising to 36 from 30 has helped keep a lot more tigers alive. A ton of low to mid 30s Tigers get caught ice fishing and the past few years they go back into the lake instead of on the ice hoping to cash in a derby or whatever other reason people keep them. Overwhelming majority of the Tigers we catch each year are under 36 on the ice
  17. Since that limit came into effect the Tigers in ice derbies are way down and the boat catching seems up IMO. I don't think tiger anglers have much to worry about at the moment
  18. Excellent fish!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. My comment about the natural reproduction was more agreeing with the fact that if there is natural reproduction occurring, it shouldn't impact stocking numbers because it is such a small occurrance. And just because there are fish that don't fit the pattern, doesn't necessarily mean there is a wealth of reproduction. I saw 4 goldfish in Otisco 2 years ago that were about a foot long and I'm pretty sure those weren't stocked by DEC or natural repro, everyone has heard stories about rogue fish in other lakes that dont belong (walleyes in Skaneateles for example) sometimes people do their own stocking. I don't think Otisco is a hidden gem, it's definitely not, but IMO the reason people go there is because they are searching for an experience different than Oneida. Everyone wants a limit, but you go to oneida for a meal you go to otisco for a monster. That doesn't mean I don't think there should be a state launch, or I wouldn't want more walleyes. It was more of a comment on just being appreciative for it the way it is. I don't even want a launch because of problems with the price, i jsut dont want to launch below causeway, or deal with that nightmare up at the other marina. How about a launch at the park with a fee and the fee goes to paying for some more fish to stock.
