  1. Didn't make it out this past Saturday but will be out this one. Will post results. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Couple weeks ago took three small lakers. All came on dipsey towing green atomic fly behind a green flasher at 2.3-2.5 surface speed. Most fish were between 25-70 over 140-150 feet of water. Again that was a couple weeks ago. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Likely heading out Saturday from sturgeon point. Anyone had any luck? Never launched from there before, any info on where to start would be great. Thanks guys. Ofcourse will post results and program Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Sbh is pretty quiet at 530a as well. It's noon that seems to be the issue! Lol. Not sure on the fish finder, recently went fishing on a buddies boat who had a color finder which held the arcs while the fish id was on. That thing was miles superior to my Pirahnamax180 tri-beam. Many people have told me that a fish finder isn't that important. After the experience on my buddies boat I am not so sure! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Note that to do that you need a second party who is either efficient at boat operation or backing a trailer. Two skills not necessarily in every co-fishers wheelhouse! Try to do it when I can but not always possible. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Thanks yellow pike. I will give it a go next time I launch. Any issues with vehicle security down that way? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Hopefully the message wasn't lost on him musky. I must have just missed it as we were in line around that time. The DEC had a nice three car gaggle blocking the retrieval ramp while I was trying to get my truck down to pull out the boat, must have been discussing something important. The shuttle was no where to be found. Just seemed like everything that could happen to slow it down did. I am no expert by any means but even out on the water courtesy was no where to be found. While we where out a guys treating the trollers like highway cones on a test track nearly went through my spread and then cut within 5ft in front of me. You know its crazy when your five year old daughter yells "what are you doing?" Still a blast but all uncommon sense was out the window Sunday. 8. Had an opportunity to fish kueka this morning with my rods but a buddies boat. Went 3/4. Never had fished keuka before. Ran a spin doctor nbk, a green flasher green fly and a green flasher white purple fly all took hits run off dipsies. Fish were between 145 and 155 Fow. And down 50 thru bottom. Finding them was no problem, lots off marks on the screen. What is a good size laker for kueka? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Either anytime I can get in the water is best. I love the sunset but do seem to land more in the morning. Maybe I am paying more attention in the am. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Anyone launch from the launch just south of small boat harbor? It's the place with the boats moored and not docked I heard its 5bucks but I have never been Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. It was a cluster pulling out. Sure wish they would let us park be the retrieval ramp as available. Sure would speed things up. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Washed some lures but then hit a small eye off a 40 jet and pink/purple worm harness running plastic worms as the bait shop apparently hasn't been open for a few days. Took a 20in eater off that rod a hour or so later. At around 11 we took a 9lb'er on a tiger patter deep diver rapala 100 back from a inline board 50 off. Three fish three different locations wind mills, buoy and south gap. All were around 40-42ft of water. My dad and daughter landed the eyes. Myself I took a sheep head! Tight lines all. 16. Welcome home! I came back about 4 years ago and got a boat, fixed er up and began figuring it out as well. This site is a great resource, I mostly fish erie as I am in the Buffalo area but head up to Wilson for kings a least a few times a year. New York State also runs a fishing hotline which generally has good info and recommendations. I dont know much about the areas you are looking at, but time on the water and talking to fellow fishermen will get you where you want to be. Absent that, take your kids with and let them chose the set-up, both of my daughters chosen set-ups (aged 3 and 5) out fish my choices 3 to 1. Tight lines.
  17. Who drives when you are setting lines? Who nets when you are driving? We have list fish to bad driving, bad netting and bad reeling. I am a noobie, and admittedly not very talented however if everyone doesn't contribute nothing gets to the boat. Team effort for sure and the bickering is priceless! 18. That's a but to rough for my liking as well. Had a few buddy's who braved out to the windmills in the am and they did very well on harnesses. However it was more calm in the am than the afternoon as I understand it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Happy Father's Day all. Next well I think I will give it a go at the bouy. Will post results. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  22. Went Tuesday night off the windmills. due to forecast Wednesday. Got one on a black and silver rapala 100 back on a planer board. Also got a mixed bag of bass, white bass, and a 6lb sheepshead. Not the day we were hoping for, kicker motor quit on us which ended the evening early. Best of luck out there. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Heading out this Wednesday to take my dad out. Planning to troll out of the south gap to windmills hoaks etc. anybody having luck out there. Have the fish bowed at the departure bouy? That was a great spot last year. Thanks guys for any info. I'll. be sure and share how we do and how we did it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. What do you need? Do you just need the rod? and if so which length? I have an extra just need to know what your looking for.
  25. I don't have the dimensions but they are the same size as the offshores. I bought them with flags and they ran 18.99 all set up. The link above should take you right to them. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
