  1. If you already have reels, an inexpensive way to go is Shimano TDR rods. They're $29.99 on FishUSA. I believe they come in 9'6" add twilli tips and you're good.
  2. I bought a TD 2 seasons ago and it does help getting you basic info, temps, and terminal depth. It will help you figure out blowback compared to your counter. Last season I got a X4D and am, of course, happy with it. But I wanted to let you know that I still use my TD. So it’s not money wasted. I send it down my dipsy wire before I crank them in so I can get general depth for wire out and take notes. I’ve also sent it down my copper. This winter I picked up riggers for my gunwales and with use the TD to figure out depth with wingers and blowback, so it still comes in handy. Lastly, there’s a member selling a TD in the classifieds. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. I sent Jonathan a pm already... But, I spend a few weeks straight just outside Sackets. I could definitely get out with you on a week day, my boat or yours. I have your info too. I’ll let you know when I’ll be up when it gets closer. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  4. I have a walk around, smaller than the above mentioned, and I love it. Has an outboard which I prefer. It trolls well, good size fishing platform, has room for storage, potty for my wife and daughter, also access to the front of the boat (which my kids love) while out and about on the lake or anchored. If I were to upgrade, it’d be another walk around, with a hardtop with curtains and rocket launcher. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. I was out Saturday a.m. after a night of an enormous blow. I think it f-ed them up for at least the day. We had good screens, no takers. We were in the lake near the mouth of Chaumont. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. X2 on Amish Outfitters trolling bags. I have an 18’ trophy and use them. Pretty sure I have two of the 18”. They also help the boat to stabilize in chop, sometime I use them just for that. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  13. Thanks, Joe! I'll be there the weekend before you, will let you know what I see and here.

  15. I use a conglomerate of them. Standard weather like TWC and NOAA, but add in PredictWind which gives you direction and strength several days out. I like to compare all to come up with a decision. Sorry, just reread your post and none have wave height. I’m on the east end and tried a buoy app, but the closet one was Prince Edward Island. 19. Did you try the “optimized” size option? My app wouldn’t load “original” size, so I went with the other and it worked Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. I started with a FishHawk TD. It is a snap shot device, you send it down and bring it back up to get temps. It’ll also give you maximum depth which is good for learning blowback and dipsy depth. I upgraded to a FishHawk 4xd mid season last year, which is a probe attached just above your rigger ball with continuous wireless data to the display. Temp, down speed, and actual running depth. Both devices are very helpful! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
