  1. That was cool, I’d love to feel a pike hit a fly.
  2. I have the cable attached now and have been trailering it with 2 ratchet straps to hold it tight to the transom but the safety cable only seems to be there to allow the motor to drag on the road or hang under the boat in case it comes free from the bracket. I also have the wing nuts on the motor attached together with a piece of wire to prevent them from spinning loose enough to make the motor unsecure.
  3. Sounds like Skaneateles, they are in there but not enough to target them.
  4. I was in Canandaigua for the weekend and ate at a restaurant on the water last night and they had beer battered walleye as a “daily special”. I didn’t ask the waitress but are there walleyes in the lake? The harbor was beautiful and I’d like to visit again but I have never fished Canandaigua.
  5. Yes, thank you for the detailed reports. I never made it out onto the lake but every time I was about to I felt like I had a good game plan together 🤔
  6. I agree, 2.3-2.5 is my most consistent top speed that produces the most bites.
  7. If you don’t get any other replies, I would suggest looking at your graph and finding the steepest drop-off locations( contour lines that are closest together). I don’t fish Keuka but trolling other finger lakes I find the largest concentrations of fish along points and those step drops. White tube on a 1/2oz jig head and don’t forget lakers like to chase from the bottom so occasionally speed reel your jig from bottom up 10-15’ then stop (hold) then drop back down.
  8. That’s rough, I was tempted to try yesterday morning but decided to hit Skaneateles instead, glad I did for many reasons. I wish they could predict the waves better, my boat doesn’t fish in 3’ers, especially by myself.
  9. Cleaning the fish was clearly evident of its low -fat diet. A thick, mature fish like that typically has quite a bit of dark meat along the skin side and this fish hardly had any and what was there was light pink and not dark red like alewife eating fish. Also had no fat inside the cavity like others. Im really looking forward to frying this up later.
  10. I lost a smaller one at the boat a couple of weeks ago but landed this one today that hit my dipsey rod spoon. It felt like the dipsey didn’t release but was feeling head shakes so I knew there was a fish on. When the dipsey planed at the surface, but still felt the weight, my heart started pounding. Measured 25”.
  11. Happened to me twice fishing on Oneida lake, once casting and another while ice fishing. Both were cloudy days but our lines floated up out of the water when casting and our rod tips were literally buzzing both times. I could see how it could cause some static issues especially with electronics on the boat.
  12. Yeah, if my boat was shocking me I’d be nervous as well. Is all the wiring new? Seems like if it is it should be an easy solution for someone that knows electrical installations.
  13. Don’t miss those hand cranks too much Clark. I was fishing 80’ down with both riggers yesterday and after going off 12 times on lakers my arms were feeling it pretty quick.
  14. At least you guys were able to drop lines in. I went out to 110 and turned around and white knuckled it back to the pier heads to troll around for an hour trying to keep the boat on track while fishing until breakfast sounded more desirable.
  15. Yep, too sporty for me already. 2-3’s and building out of Fair Haven
  16. Good luck out there today Clark. I’ll be out of Fair Haven today on channel 68 unless I hear otherwise. Green hornet out.
  17. I’ve been watching Windfinder.com and it hasn’t changed saying south wind w/ 0.3’ waves until evening. Planning to pack up by 11 am so hopefully it’s calm until then.
  18. Great to know. I will order a couple for next year. Thank you for the info
  19. Thanks, I have some slide divers but my biggest isn’t a mag and only 3 3/4” dia. Not sure what the max depth would be with wire pulling a paddle.
  20. I’m surprised that one is so dark while in such deep water. Too stubborn to go back home
  21. No way that was that a double header with a cheater had to be two separate lines??
  22. Wow, way out! I’m heading out tomorrow morning and hoping for good marks within 400 at most in my 18’
  23. Floating eggs sacks are good if you are alone. Glow spoons (Cleo’s, moonshines) that are heavy enough to throw out are popular. Don’t overlook crankbaits ( floating or deep divers)
